Arizer Solo

So my Solo came in yesterday. Did the appropriate provisioning steps then loaded a stem. Started on 2 and sipped until shutoff which I didn't even notice had happened for a little while. One stem with a tiny bit of flower and I was as baked as I had ever been. It was kinda like the first time all over again...

So, cheers, y'all. Thanks for the suggestions, tips, and ideas. I can see this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

I have some of @Pipes accessories, and I love them. I honestly don't know how I got along without them before.

In your defense you were younger then, you're so much wiser now......

I'm going to have to get myself a stand for PA use... They look the business

Yup, they're keepers or sure. Even without the pretty lights. We're lucky to have a Pipes in our corner I think.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. This is because I'm new to vaping, I've lurked for a long long time and finally bought a Solo, after much consideration, i had been seriously looking to get either a DBV or Extreme Q then decided ill be needing something more portable if I'm serious about ditching tobacco based joints properly. I was then considering the MLFB and almost bought one several times. I live in Spain and the only way for me to be sure of the Magic Flight lifetime guarantee was to buy direct....and well......if anything ever went wrong with it id be sending to the states. plus i read here on one of the thousand pages that it doesn't really pack a punch, and couldn't see myself enjoying carrying around batteries etc EDIT 1 sorry i accidentally pressed post and will now continue.

Since getting my Solo from VapoShop (found them through FC) i have not smoked a joint at home. I rolled a few to take to an outdoor gig the other night, and was actually upset with how much more weed i was putting into it. The Solo is very efficient (my first and only vape, i compare to smoking) and i load the bowl with probably a fifth of what i put into a joint, start at 2 and work it upto 6 til shut off. I dont grind, just load a pinch of nug into the bowl. Amazingly toasted evenly around the bowl and i still smile when i crush up the ABV and see that its vaped all the way through.

My straight stem fits tight. Bent stem is loose. Tight stem, harder draw but better hits. After a small mishap Vaposhop sent me a free special bent stem, with cutouts for airflow at the base of the bowl and a bong style finger hole to ease airflow when needed. I very much like this and also like the straight stem.

Something worried me initially but its very rare for weed to fall in to the heater, if you pack the bowl right it will never happen. And the bowl can be packed without weed falling out too. I had my doubts til i got it and tried it out.

I'm really enjoying vaping, i don't think I've noticed much difference in my lungs (I'm very active as it is, but was getting some chest/lung pains) the pains have mostly subsided and i dont cough up that fleghm as much as i used to. Had the Solo for a few weeks so far but i do smoke some cigs when out drinking. Hence I've been looking into stealthier ways to use my Solo and have made a paper cup soft drink style public vaping disguise. Ive so far only tried it at home to refine the functionality but I'm pretty sure i could get away with using this in most places. Ill post pics soon.

I also used the foam base from the Solos box to make a holder, only with one minor adaptation, again forgive me im gonna post the pics at another time.

I also have, today, after seeing some excellent ABV recipes, invented my own special something, which I'm very much looking forward to trying and sharing with every one here.

About the Solo, i have noticed it gets quite hot in my hand epsecially getting upto the higher settings, therefore I'm happy to let it cool down after the auto shut off. I've also switched it back on for another bowl without issue, but i genuinely didn't think it would get so hot.

No plasticy smell or taste

i love the first 3 or 4 hits at level 2/3 the taste its amazing, pure herb. Delicious!

Battery lasts me the whole day easily and doesn't take too long to charge, a few hours but i havent timed it. Sometimes ill charge it for a bit, hit a bowl and then put it back on charge if necessary. No biggie. I can see this being shared around pretty easily, but its definitely PERFECT for the Solo herb user. My girlfriend used to enjoy the herb but cant handle it lately, she hasnt even tried the Solo or smoked a joint for at least a few months now, shes also given up cigs (I'm very proud, but at the same time id love her to try the Solo! )

I dont find the high quite as killer as smoking a joint (i used to smoke 2 doobs a day, not all in one go either, one after lunch spread out and one before or after dinner that would last me the night) but if u hit the Solo enough it will get you as high as you want.

Used SS screens in the bowl and in the heater for ground herb but i actually just prefer to stick a bit of sticky in the bowl. Its so much less effort than rolling a spliff and i love the fact that it gives off very little smell and my living room doesn't always smell of joints anymore. Solo is a great size smaller than expected, has a nice weight to it and i can't think of much more to add at this point.

Very happy vaper, this is my first post viva la vapor!

Wow, thanks guys.
Yes, always open for PMs. Don't be shy as can help out in most cases.

BTW, all the stands are now OEM connection whether its combined with a PA supply or not. Seemed the best avenue to take as a 90 degree elbow is now included. So the difference between the PA orders and stand only orders is the elbow. The elbow gives more cable placement options while using or just plugging in for charging.

As many folks want third party supplies but need a 5.5X2.1mm to 4.0X1.7mm adapter. The needed adapter is no longer available from the previous suppliers that folks have ordered from. So the new elbow I am making is the alternative for these folks. Also, fyi, I too have tested the short 4" cable adapters from China and found a very high failure rate so beware that alternative.

Hope this helps and IMO, keeping options alive is the name of the game.

So here is a couple pictures of the elbow adapter in case some might not know what I'm gabbing on about.
It is an odd male side 5.5mm connector as the grounding is done via a single spring loaded "finger" which can be seen in the pictures as well. Not sure if this is a good thing for longenity and any input on this would be much appreciated. I know it makes the grounding very forgiving between different connector manufacturers which is a good thing. For testing which I have done all seems fine but can't be sure 6 months down the road.

Nevertheless, there is a need, so this is my attempt to make available for our Brothers and Sisters here at FC.

Here it is plugged in with a different 12 volt supply I found around. To the right is the normal 4X1.7 elbow which I have been making for a few weeks now.

I think I'll offer them in a kit along with a couple O rings, screens, bottom repair washers, and a 14mm stand.
As usual though, anythings possible.

Welcome Bud, great first post. The stems really do vary how they fit, it seems like no 2 are the same.

You may want to add a water tool somewhere down the line. Either an Fbomb or Pinnacle Pro WT they fit well on the Solo. You would need a 14 mm gong adapter. With a WT you can use those higher temps and the vapor isn't too hot. I think those 2 would be a good first WT. I am waiting for a D020, I ordered a week ago probably another week before I get it. It comes from Hong Kong.

Also a wood stem would make your Solo truly portable. Contact Ed from Eds TnT wood stems. I really like how beautiful and unique they are.

Tonight I am enjoying something called God's Gift, it's an Indica. The solo brings out the flavor in the herb without burning. This particular strain has a citrus earthy flavor without any harshness. Some portable vaporizers you don't get the true flavor of the herb you are using.

My pain this evening is not quite as intense, thanks to God's true gift, the gift of cannabis.

Did you order from sunshineglass (dhgate)? If its from them quality control is the best of the cheap chinese glass. Still could be problems but if you get a proper d020 I think you will love it. Easy pull, low drag, great flavor, ergonomics....All for $30. Crazy

Bought from DHgate. I would be afraid to order from an unknown vendor. I try to be careful ordering online, they seem secure by the comments from FC members.

I am really excited, can't wait. I should be getting my 18mm gongs from PV tomorrow.

Fake Arizer Solo Vaporizers Are a Thing Now

There's no nice way of saying it, if a vaporizer is popular then there is probably a knock off out there. A few weeks ago we received an email from a manufacture in China Claiming to have Solos and Ascent Vaporizers...

mod note: This was originally a cross-post. For the rest, please see Fake Solo and Ascent in our Counterfeit Vaporizers sub-forum.

Since puffitup.com finally has new batteries in stock, I pulled the plug and ordered one, since my stock one is hosed (don't ask). This means that I will finally be able to send my Solo in for warranty, since I never could find out if they will accept returns without the battery.

I think I may have asked this a dozen pages back, but never received an answer: does anyone on here know if Arizer typically repair, or replace units? The main reasons I ask are: there is some cosmetic flaking of the silver finish on mine, so on one hand it would be nice to have a newer unit; I've heard mixed reviews of the units being made by Arizer recently, so on the other hand it would be nice to keep my older model, which was fairly reliable (up until the point it wasn't).

Any thoughts would be appreciated...

I read this tread almost daily. I feel the bad batch of solos is over. The defect complaint seems normal now. Id say the newer models, bought after mid march, are perfect.

Shipping your solo to arizer should be the best. Lets say there are bad solos, but arizer wont admit, they would be stupid to send you a proven effi one.

But sending your unit back vs buying a new one is not that more expensive Id think.

@Jahannum let it charge while your at work.

SCAM my cousin jumped on this and he never received anything.
They're new accounts, they say you have to wait 2-4 weeks until item ships, in the mean time they "sell" some "Solos", move the funds between a few accounts and by the time the item was supposed to be shipped theyre gone.
Itll be "no longer a registered user",you get you money back but now you waited a month and the "seller" is long gone with $$$$$$$$

Since puffitup or almost all the vendors seem to be matching ebay theres really no need to take a chance.
Either a top rated ebay seller or puffit up, vape world, planetvape, or any site supporter for that matter to play it safe.
