I just got another stem/WonG from @Ed's TnT . I love it! It's the little one on the right.

Looks much like mine. How do you get the tube off while hot?
For either carbing or emptying?

Oh ya, that's also it in my signature, far right with an e-cig condom on it. Use it for dry like that. Nice and robust for on the go.

Here is a better picture. The newest WonG/Stem is on the very left. They look like they are the same size.

As for getting it off while it's hot, I haven't figured that one out yet. I had one session with my Solo, and damn near burned my finger trying to get it off. I applied extra lube (hemp lip balm) to the inside of my PWT in the hopes that will help.

Ive realised that it is very important to protect the 4 air holes in the chamber from finely ground herb. I have got to this conclusion after 7 defective solo units

PS - the only thing all the 7 solos have had in common is that they are all M1D2.

I would tend to think the common fact , that they were all M1D2 .
May be the reason for the issues and not Finely Ground herbs falling down the 4 holes . jmo

Yes I had m1d with same issue. I believe m1c,d,and e are prone to the issue. 2014 models m1t and later fixed the issue I believe. My m1t and m1y from arizer replacement are true hitting champs.

Good to hear .
Are you using while charging with the M1T and M1Y batches ?

I'm not sure it's confined to M1D2 marked units. The OP seems to have only had them, of course, but so do a lot of other folks. This seems to be a common failure. Do any of them have units marked otherwise? How many have units so marked with no problems?

I agree it's hard to see how herb down those holes is suddenly an issue. The holes aren't that much bigger and have been there from the start. Not to mention I don't understand right off how herb (or any other debris) can effect a furnace cemented together. Let's call if 'Just Our Opinion', if you'll let me join you?

Interesting stuff. I hope we collect enough information to find out what's up.

I'm sorry, I strongly disagree. While that's OK advice (actually I favor stopping before it goes solid for maximum battery life) generally, the question was specifically about the initial out of the box treatment.

Unless you know why it should be otherwise, my advice stands.

no need to be sorry. im just going off of what i think i remember reading from the arizer manual over a year ago. blinking means charging and solid means its done. of course my memory isnt always on point, but that is how i charge mine. have been doing so since march of 2013 and im still getting 8 sessions per charge. i know there are little tricks to get the cells to perform better/longer, but im not too concerned with it. if the cells crap out i will replace them.

i dont remember if the manual states a different out of the box charge. i will have to re-read it when i get home.

In talking about in the heating chamber. It's like a little piece of avb stuck to it after removing my stem

yep. its just stuck in there. you can blow it out or get a pen cap or something to get it out. use something plastic so you dont scratch the SS. oh and do it when its cooled off of course.

I currently have 2 Arizer Solo units on hand. A silver M107-80320 that works flawlessly, and heats like a champ. I also bought a 2014 model, a M1E1401207, and it is having some issues heating. I take immaculate care with my Arizer units, such as cleaning, charging and handling of the devices. The 2014 M1E1 model will drop from level 6 all the way to level 3 in one hit, giving very weak draws and never fully utilizing the buds medical potential. The silver M107 will make the thickest vape clouds on level 6 providing dense vapor, enough to choke me out and cough (: Both were tested with a 15 second draw, and the silver dropped only 1 down from level 6 to 5, resuming level six seconds after my hit. Now that thats been put aside, the 2014 model (black) has the ability to charge while the unit is turned on. What component makes this possible, and is there a way to transfer it to the silver addition? would really love if I could use the silver one while charging.

Howdy and welcome to the forum. This has been brought up various times and purchase date is much more useful than model numbers for Solos.
Anyway, pre 2014 models have a more restricted air flow compared to the newer units. Not a new unit owner but makes sense that drawing faster means chamber cool downs faster as well. So the new ones leave it more up to the user to control the draw speed. The older units, with more restriction, this is kind of self regulated.
As for your question about modding your old unit to "vape and charge". (first round post...bad boy) IMO you have it backwards. The old feature of being able to use a true PA mode is more desirable. This feature is missing with the new models which allow the user to beat up their batteries by charging at the same time as using them. My opinion there but many agree.
Let us know if over drawing has been the problem... TIA

Over drawing is not the issue, both test are done with an empty tube and pulled out slightly (mm or so) and a relaxing slow draw is taken. The same results may be gathered from a loaded tube with similar draw strength. There should be no reason the 2014 drops from 7 to 4, because it does this drop from 6-3, 5-2 so on. I've used an arizer for 2 years im very familiar with these units. Its only happened in the recent months that the 2014 has done this, it wasnt like it dropped 3 levels out of the box. The 2014 was purchased mid February-early march for a friend who moved back to Germany so i have his Arizer now. I only recently discovered 2014 models can perform while charging (friend didnt know about feature and used as a charge and use model) and is why i asked if it could be transferred. Regardless of the improved airflow, the 2014 shouldnt drop level after level while the 2012 is amazing with heating.

Another option is to clean (pick) out the pieces while the oven is hot using a round wooden toothpick. Won't scratch the oven and IMO the oven cleans better when is hot.

So I'm sure I've had bud fall into my 4 holes in the solo, how do I clean it? For the first time I turned it to 6 sat it on the table and there was something coming from the solo, I didn't have my stem in

I haven't had a problem with my unit loosing too much heat during a draw. It only goes down one level and quickly recovers. Sometimes it doesn't even go down. I don't have a very deep draw so maybe that's why.

I suck out the oven after every time I pull the stem out. If you've got your hand around the part where the lights are, you can feel air rushing in and around the light panel when inhaling directly on the Solo oven.

Should I keep using my Solo until the battery drains to 0 just this first time? As a way to sort of calibrate it I guess like I did by charging it 8 hours before using it.
