Got my LSV today. Are the instructions that comes with it good to go by?

Also, should I let it run a little bit at max temp before use?

Let it run like you said now, hopefully ready for use later today. :D

For some reason I did not expect it to be this long, even though I have seen it in videos and pictures. Especially with the transfer wand, it's almost as long as my arm.

Seems like a really nice unit though, so far so good.

Rolled up some hash in a little bit of cotton, set the LSV to a fairly high temperature and let it sit for about two minutes and then I put the hash into the wand. No luck getting any vapor at all, went up to 1-2 on the dial. What am I doing wrong?

Wish I had some herb to try it with, seems simpler for the first time.

Edit: So with pure hash it seems like I need near max to max heat to get any clouds, but at that level it is pretty nice. Does my unit run really cold compared to others or am I doing something wrong? Definitely did not combust anything, doesn't even look close.

More edit: Starting to look like this unit might be bad. Tried plugging it directly into the outlet, doesn't seem to have made a difference. Checked the heater element, I could pull it out a little bit and it now shows three letters, a dash, three numbers and another dash. From what I've read that should be good?

Other than that the LED-light is constant instead of dimmed on lower temperatures.

I just can't think of anything I am doing wrong that could make it perform this different from what I keep reading about it. At 12-2 there is basically nothing, at most a tiny bit of taste. At max there is decent vapor, but definitely not combustion and not even very dense vapor. This is all through the wand, pulling as slow as I can.

Tried pure hash as well, got decent vapor at max temp and that's it. Tried two types of (most likely) moroccan hash, one soft and one rock hard. The soft one smudged up the glass a lot, that's why I use cotton.

Gonna try with herb today, if I still need to turn it to max temp to get any vapor I'm fucked. :(

when i had some hard hash i grated shavings off w/a razor blade and mixed it with herb. vaped very well and stretched the hash out a long way.

Got some sweet Blue Walker to try it with later, I'll report back.

I have a feeling that either I did something wrong trying to use it with hash that made it underperform or the unit is flawed. Hopefully with herb it will make it easier to know if I am doing things wrong or not.

Was thinking I'd have to send an email to 7th Floor, but it's starting to look like it was about technique and I was doing something wrong. Not even sure now, but that might just be because of how well it started working.

I can totally relate to that! I've had my LSV for almost two years, and it still manages to surprise me like a punch to the face when I change up my technique. This thing is amazing.

I'm glad you found a way to make it work for you! I'd say that I hope you enjoy it, but it seems as though you already are. I just connected my baby to my bong, so this next hit is for you!

Well, after using nothing but my fakexhale for about 6 months (and my EVO for a week during that period), it seems to have died last night :(

So I'm back to my beloved LSV

Should be fun switching back for a bit, I've been meaning to go back to it for a while now, now I've got the reason.

I'm on day two with this thing on a signature changeup and it is going great! Super fucked up. This thing whitewalls better than all my other vapes.
It hits goddamn hard. With the Solo I can hit it all night long, but one session with the LSV and I might have to just go to bed.

Seem to have some startup trouble every time though. Like last night I set it to max temp and let it sit for 2 minutes, then I set it back to 12 and try to hit it and I get a little bit of vapor for the first hit and then nothing. Turn up the temp and I keep getting small hits once in a while but mostly nothing all the way up to max. Eventually I turned it off for a little bit, but when I tried again later I started getting thick hits at around 1 and it just kept going untill I was destroyed.

I'm really not sure at this point if it's the way I inhale, it feels like I'm doing it the same way every time. Does it really make that much difference? Cause I just get the feeling that going to max temp should make it so hot that it should be impossible to get nothing at all.

Let it warm up longer. I never hit mine before ten minutes and usually wait twenty.

Also, draw speed is everything. I like mine at 2:00 with a nice medium speed draw. If you arent getting thick vape after a long enough warm up then you are drawing too strongly

I was thinking the warmup might be it. It says two minutes, but the whole vape is quite cold when I turn it on. Seems like it only works for me when the whole metal body has gotten warm. Gonna try letting it sit for 10+ minutes next time, but I might have to wait till the weekend as it's too much of a beast to use on weekdays.

I've never owned a vape, except Herbie, that didn't benefit greatly from more time warming up than the manufacturer states. All manufacturers, even VXL, want to be able to pimp a quick warm up time. The truth is they will produce vapor at that quick time, just nothing that satisfies me.

I get huge clouds at 4 minutes warm-up.

Try 4 min and try switching AC outlets. The LSV is very sensitive to voltage swings. Also check that your heating element is pulled out far enough.

Heating element is pulled out to the 2nd dash, which from what I've read should be more than enough?

Have tried different outlets, seems to be the same thing every time so far.
