Hello all. I am in need of clarification regarding Omicron cartridges for use with the Persei. I own three Persei vapes and enjoy them a lot, I have been using 5 ohm carts with great success for well over a year. I don't reuse carts or abuse them and so far I have stayed loyal to W9. I have also started using KISS carts and have two SR-74s which I am still figuring out so please don't take this as W9 bashing, I just need information.
So I am in the process of getting a Persei ready for my sister who is having a terrible time with Rheumatoid arthritis and I think the reliability and minimal hassle of the Omicron carts will be easiest for her. So I order a Persei and a 5 pack of Omi carts directly from W9. Thats when my difficulties begin...
1) the KISS cart included with the "new" Persei has seven turns around the ceramic rod. I have spent a lot of time researching this and, to me, it looks like a non titanium KISS was sent but customer service denies that and insists that it is a titanium cart even though it doesn't look like one. Okay, no problem, I just learned something but I still don't believe it.
2) The Omicron carts that W9 sent have a small center tube and a straight center tube support. The Omi W9 carts I have been using since last year have all had a larger center tube and notches cut out on each side of the center tube support, they are all made by W9. I contend that they shipped me old stock and customer service was initially great, at first she had NO idea what I was talking about (???) then she said she looked and talked with someone and found out that indeed they have changed and she would exchange the unused old style for me, I was overjoyed until after I shipped back the old style carts and they shipped me THE IDENTICAL STYLE CARTS I RETURNED! My customer ticket was closed and now she is not responding to my questions.
The smaller center tube cart style was indeed included with my first Persei and I found them to be satisfactory but with frequent pop clogs and found out that they come apart easily when clearing the center tube. Some time last year I ordered more 5 ohm carts from a W9 approved retailer and got the new design, they arrived in the same W9 box, packed the same in individual bags inside the box, each had an included silicone mouthpiece but did not have the small white disc used to seal the top of the cart and this is the style I have been using ever since. This new style cartridge has been GREAT! The bigger center tube does not clog as easily and they just work better, and I have never had one come apart like the older design. I ordered directly from the manufacturer assuming that they would not send me old stuff but it looks like they did. Quite frankly I am also surprised that customer service does not know about these improvements but I suppose they are more focused on newer designs so the Omi cart is on the back burner.
So I am left feeling like I got old stock from W9 and that their customer service has little familiarity with their products. I truly want to like this company but it's getting tougher.
