I think it might be OK. Can't see much vapor production in my glass, but the exhale has it so....

Time will tell. For now I'm stoked. Its wrecking me! :spliff:

I know you're probably looking for independent suggestions but I'll chime in anyways..

For most people the standard power supply is fine, though some people find it runs a little too hot (too close to combustion) and like to add an extension to drop the voltage a little bit. That being said a VVPS is really great to have as you can dial in just the right temp for any given usage.

If you're looking for a VVPS I'd suggest looking at CentiZens mini-VVPS kit it's by far the best VVPS solution I've used to date (after trying literally hundreds of different ones): http://vapepower.ca/product/mini-vvps-bundle-std/

The Screen Kit on the site needs to be revised to allow for the selection of different kinds of screens but generally speaking is just a quick/cheap/easy way of getting a variety of screens to go with your stems. Now that we've condensed our stem offerings to just a few types that only use a couple different screens it's less handy to be honest.

The Insertion tool is really just for legacy silicone stems and makes putting screens in those much easier but is really only useful for that purpose.

:2c::peace:
Thanks Dave! I wasn't necessarily looking for independent opinions, but rather trying to give you a break! You've answers what seems like dozens of my questions already. Besides, I don't mind multiple opinions.

So if I wanted to make my own silicone stems, I should get the insertion tool? I'm going to get 2 nylon stems and 2 GonGs, is there anything recommended to maintain them like extra screens?

will the smell ever go away?
I've read about quite a few other people in the thread having done that, including Dave who always recommends you leave your pup on and let the oil burn off. He says after a day or two it's as good as new!

Which accessories do you guys recommend? Will I be safe using the standard power supply with an extension cord, or will I need a VVPS? What's the difference between getting a screen kit vs a screen insertion tool?

Couldn't suggest anything better than

Ouch, sorry to hear about the spill man. As Lampshade mentioned what you want to do is run your Dog at full operating temp and burn off all the oil possible. Do this in a well ventilated place and not near anything combustible in case the oil is flammable, a concrete porch or similar is usually a good place. The majority of the oil will evaporate/burn off in an hour or two and much of the remaining smell will fade over a couple days. That being said Eucalyptus oil is one of the more potent oils so it's possible it won't fade completely away but it should fade a significant amount.

Give her a try and get back to us on how it works out that way the community knows for next time it happens.

If it doesn't fade all the way away and you find it's driving you crazy PM me and we'll see what other options we have. :peace:

I've been using my new twig all day....its now 3am, and its cool but its not working as good as I see in videos....or anywhere near my other vapes. :huh:I cannot get a cloud in my glass no matter how much I milk, or how slow I hit. I've loaded small, large, close, far... its killing me. I even emailed Underdog about it. Any tricks or stuff I'm missing? I'm at my wits end.:bang:

Hmm... Mine is a huge hitter, but to get big clouds I have to let it heat up really well. I usually wait 1/2 hour or so. Then I start slow and end up pulling really hard and steady. Sometimes it even produces too much vapor and floors me. I think twigs should be even hotter. Do you have the voltage control thing?

It was my nighttime, go to sleep vape until that Persei came along.

How well does it hit dry ? I'm still not getting great hits through my little water tools, Lackluster even.
But dry with the simple glass stem I can pull huge vapor clouds if I want to.

Maybe something is wrong with your power supply or heater? What type of power supply are you using? Fixed or variable? Have you measured the voltage output from the power supply with a multimeter to see if its functioning properly?

My twig hits hard at stock voltage with the nylon stem, resulting in dark brown abv and thick clouds. At stock voltage with the gong my abv is light brown and I get noticeable clouds. Havne't used a glass stem or wong though.

I use the wall sort that it came with. What should the unit read on a mm? I will gladly test. Though I just filed for an RMA#.

Edit.....wall wort reads at 1.5 ohms

Can you post a pic on how you measured it please. Sorry not sure how to measure a power supply for voltage .....especially when unplugged.

Is your core hot? Has it ever became too hot to touch because it should. It should burn you after being on for 15 minutes, if you have a router/modem, I would try connecting it to the router, and/or look at the specs of the router and if compatible try it with that as a test. I've had a couple of bad wall worts.

EDIT:
I also had an issue where I had to angle my extension cords plug on the dog in order for it to receive input. This could also be another cause of the issue.

Wrong setting but whatever, still reads the same thing. It has to be plugged in.

make sure everything is plugged in secure. sometimes the plug into the dog can come out a bit. also try the wall wart on different outlets to see if that makes a difference. if that doesnt work, it might be a bad wall wart. underdog will take care of it either way.

if you're using their gong with a water piece, you definitely should be getting thick vapor :science:

Hey Sleepin in CA - It sounds like a power supply or line voltage issue. You can try a different outlet in your house or you can try an outlet at a friend's house. I'm assuming it's getting warm, but not warm enough with the stock power supply? The line voltage coming in can affect what your dog receives depending on the power supply. If it's dead cold, that probably means dead power supply.

You could also try a car adapter in your car if you've got a stock 12 volt car adapter somewhere handy. Those usually get much hotter (you'll have to watch to not overheat your dog!) but that's another option in the interim while we get you a working solution.

Whether we need to get you into a VVPS or some other solution, we can make it work if you want. You said that you've sent Underdog an email, I know he'll take care of you when he gets back in the office. Just hang tight with us for a little bit!
