Arizer Solo

That is exactly what mine did. What finally worked was taking the unit apart, unplugging the heater (red and black wires with white connector) powering it up, plugging it in and resetting it (hold buttons for 4 sec, wait 10 sec, unplug). Now plug the heater back in and test it. If it works reassemble it, if not panic.

Thanks for the tip but if the solo warranty is as many replacements as necessary in a 1 year time frame... then i will keep myself from breaking it open to keep my warranty :)

If not though the screwdrivers are already here...

Q when I do cotton I go to 7 and then drop to 5. I don't warm up with the stem with cotton so it needs to be primed hence going to seven first. I drop it as soon as it gets to temp.
Interesting approach! I usually just keep mine on 7 the whole time but I will have to try the new method. Do you use water tools or just the normal HES?

hey is there any place that sells o rings for the m1d2 units. the o ring that PV sent me the cap is not fitting on, and it gets annoying to tighten as much as possible but not all the way. Do they sell the old caps that might fit ont he new unit or will that not work. sanding the o ring is something I would rather not do. I was almost thinking of using some hvac duct tape to keep the cap and o ring on tightly, but thats probably just a horrible idea.

I find the o ring does keep the PV, and stock stem in there much more securely so i dont mind getting another ring that works

  • AFAIK you cant buy replacement caps because they make slight changes to them (IE M1C1 cap =/= M1D1 cap)
  • The o-rings will all be the same size regardless of where you buy them I believe.
  • The Cap doesn't need to be all the way tightened to work with the O-ring. but my roommate is like you and hates that he cant tighten his cap all the way and so doesnt use an o-ring

thanks for the reply

also i was about to use my pv goong adapter for the first time. So after some reading, I guess I want to put my solo on 6 or 7 and then work my way down. Also after I take a pull through my mobius should I pull the solo out of the gong , or take the gong with the solo out(inhale) then put it back in? I'm gussing i work my way down to 5 after few hits?

You have it backwards , start at a lower temp , then go higher if you want to . If you start at 7 , you'll most likely extract all the goodies .

I like to pull the solo stem out all together , that way it keeps the herbs heated and ready for another hit .

FLAVOR FIRST for me!

I throw away any vaporized material once the flavor is diminished!

I quit saving my ABV material.
Clean stems as well.
I don't let them get dirty!

We are all different I guess?
Hey ataxian,

There's this person out there on the Left Coast who likes baking and due to just obtaining a Solo (Darn her for her efficiency!).... believes he will run out of ABV!!!! Anyway, all West Coast ABV donations accepted!

Just kidding! (I've got the ABV covered)... Just wanted to send a shout-out to you since we share the same coast...

The going down in heat was just to warm up the unit for cotton use only. I hope that is not what confused you.

You can get high temp washers from the same places you can get orings like the oring store on line. They are thinner so you can close the cap. They have a smaller ID however so it is tighter then the oring.

Is there a differance between regular rubbing alcohol and denatured alcohol for cleaning my stem.

Either will work fine. Ethanol (Denatured) will probably be a little slower on the heavy buildups but will 'cut it' fine. Propanol (ISO) is a heavier alcohol so will evaporate slower. Methanol (one step lighter than Ethanol) 'goes the other way' for the most part. All will work OK for cleaning.

If you're not going to reclaim, then again so will washing in good detergent and water....... You might try dish washing machine detergent. And do it hot. That's basically what I do. Easier and cheaper than alcohol.

Go for it.

I generally like to use ISO 91%. Cleans well, evaporates fast, and doesn't leave spots. Leaves my glass crystal clear & clean!

@DDave I use to save ABV.
I don't want to sound careless.
Flavor is kind of fun I think!
I generally like to use ISO 91%.
I use to use 94% ISO however a well purged BHO taste better.

VACUUM PURGING is critical to good wax!

If you found the "HOLY GRAIL" please share it!

After further use, this PVHES is unreal. Still not hurting from the smaller bowl size. Seems to be lasting a reasonable amount of time. Just made it through roughly a 6'ish minute session, working from temp 2 thru 5. Had the bowl near fully-packed, but not entirely. As long as I get 5+ minutes per toke to sit back, relax, and enjoy myself, I'm fine. Still may order a bent/turbo with the regular bowl for when out with buddies, but no complaints when it comes to 1-2 people using it. But I digress...

The clouds are huge. Huge rips, and it feels great going down. Loving the o-ring... keeps that stem sturdy, gives the unit a more robust, solid feel to it. That, in combination with the PVHES has a damn-near perfectly fitting stem situation. Goes in snug, not loose at all... love it. Helps with airflow as well, I'd imagine. The screen is rather brilliant as well. Ultra-fine mesh... little to no gunk on the glass after several uses. Imagining I won't have to clean this bad-boy too much.

On another note, I prefer the bent stem to the straight, but that's somewhat irrelevant to this discussion. Just figured I'd drop that note.

Happy with the purchase. Next up: one of Ed's stems, and another PVHES turbo.

Sorry!

For DIRTY STEMs once I get them sparkling I hot soap rinse then soak in LIME JUICE! I rinse with REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER then dry with a clean towel.

There's no excuse for my folly!

I like the PHVES and I like the STOCK as well.
Mine are straight because they fit my travel tubes.
Since I started keeping my stems in travel tubes I quit breaking them. However the bent stems are nice and I think I'll get some!

I like both stems. I'll switch it up depending in my mood, but for out and about I like the straight stem. It fits tighter than the bent stem which moves around a bit.

Finally managed to go to another headshop that sold me 10 of the 1/2" stainless steel screens for 80 cents and a female-female adapter. I can just set the straight stem in there with a bit of tubing around the mouthpiece and the Solo sits on top. Not digging all the extra stem but I can hardly complain considering I'm not using a gong stem.

Hello! I use solo for 2+ weeks now.
Its very easy to operate and I like Eds wood piece a lot.
serial m1d2 charger works as heater too.
will post here more in future.
All I can say I gifted NO2 to a fellow in hospital.
Only one question: what size or where to get an o-ring? All I found can work only for a short time with temperatures < 200 C :(

just wanted to report that my blue led went out months ago...probably around the 6 month mark. I didn't send it in because I didn't have a backup vape and couldn't be without. finally bought a pax and decided to claim warranty work. the process was very smooth and I ended up with a brand new m1c1....that can be used while charging. I'm pretty excited.

Packed nearly a full bowl. Again, could've fit a pinch more in, but it was darn-near full. Started at temp 2, took 2 hits, moved up to 5, finished at 7. Haven't been this baked in a hot fucking minute. Definitely a fan of the PVHES.

I got one from PIU last month.
I was doing my 5th stem of INDICA (PURE OG) tightly packed and I think I spilled a 1/2 gram of ground flowers on the ground below think how smart you load your solo stem!
I need to try your method.
My waste fulness must stop!
False alarm to night I thought my SOLO was out of control?
It was fine!
I was the problem.
Pushing the wrong level button was the only thing wrong.
I was mad it wasn't broken!
Just think I would have to order a new one but no your getting a brand new unit! I'm falling behind! My SOLO's are like new after 2 1/2 years of use!
Solid simple devices!
I love my SOLO'S!

So I talk to PlanetVape and they said their arizer solo screen are 12.1mm diameter, I found 20mm diameter or .75 inch screens would they fit in the high efficiency 14mm turbo gong adapter, what about the regular glass tube that comes with arizer solo,

Also I think I can get them custom cut so what would be the best size

Please do yourself a big favor!
ebay for less than $10 you get a life time supply of stainless screens.
1/2" or 15mm are the size I have for the stems.
