The wife and I currently use a Pax, which is our first and only vape, but now I'm looking at upgrading to something a little nicer for at home since most of our use is at home.

I really like the Pax, although I don't have much experience with other vapes, so I'm not sure how much weight that opinion carries. The only issue I run into with the Pax is having to pack the oven so full to get a good experience, it seems like we might be wasting a little bit since we don't usually get through the entire oven in one session.

I'm looking for opinions on desktop or semi portable options. If money wasn't an issue what vape would you recommend that can be used with a small amount and vape as well as packing it full, can use a whip, and produces good results?

Thanks in advance for any input or advice everyone!

dontfeedphils,

vorrange

Vapor.wise
Herbalaire. Because of the whip requirement.

Otherwise, a log vape like the Underdog or the HI. Or a Lotus if you're into flame based vaporizers.

money no issue? with the ability to pack both large and small yet satisfying results? the sub and the evo (I have heard not tried yet... but soon! it's in the mail) both fit the bill. I had a cloud and it could work with little loads but I prefered the larger ones. :D

to simply ration I think the vapolution 2.0 is a great vape! it's cheap too!

A "log" style vape could also work nicely for you. :) there are many to choose from, but from my personal experience I'd recommend an Underdog. I hear the HI and CRZ are also very well liked. it's been a while since I looked at the log vapes personally though.

I also really liked both my LSV and SSV, but I feel they did better when you packed the stem 50-75% full. (about 0.2- 0.4 grams i'd guess.)

Lots of models qualify. Big hitting whip models can just be loaded with small amounts. You'll get small hits. You also may wonder if you're even getting anything if you load really light. You will be but it won't be nearly as satisfying during the hit as the same amount would in a small bowl with a short vapor path, like a log vape.

The only issue I run into with the Pax is having to pack the oven so full to get a good experience, it seems like we might be wasting a little bit since we don't usually get through the entire oven in one session.
Not sure what you're saying here. What's a good experience for you? I'd expect most to say the effect, but if you're not finishing the bowl it seems like you'd be getting that. Are you saying you need your hits to kick like a mule? If so, that doesn't go well with rationing.

VAPOLUTION 2 OK there as cheap as hell.
However this will buy you time as your tolerances will change as you progress.
Then there's times when you want a heavy hit.
Times for a FLAVOR hit.
EFFECT/FLAVOR

You will have a quiver of vaporizers before it's all over!

I say add one as you and your wife get into this better technology!

VAPOLUTION 2
I almost suggested that model. The ease of use, as far as loading the 'no screen bowl' (use pieces, not ground), isn't as good as some, but you can't beat it for the money, especially with the company's offer in the 1st post of the thread, and you get an all glass vapor path to boot.

The Minivap is very nice to vape small load with the better taste during all the session(and you can get many and many and many hits), your herb is not baked between hits and if you want you can get big milky hits with water tools...

The MV is portable but you can get it as a desktop vape (and it's cheaper) or the full kit (portable and desktop, very expensive), for the taste and the building quality this is one of the better in my opinion...

Then you can buy:
Expensive?
Cheap?
Moderate?
