Arizer Solo

Hey guys, I'm close to buying a Solo. I've seen it a slow as $160 on Vape Nation. This will be my first portable vaporizer. Is there anything else I should buy like extra parts? Is the Solo difficult to clean? Please advise. Thanks.

Also, if there is a cheaper site that has the Solo for less than $160, please let me know.

Thanks.

I personally recommend getting a water tube and adapter for it. It makes it a much smoother, more enjoyable experience.

the two most used for the Solo seem to be the Pinnacle Water Tube or the F-Bomb. I personally have a pinnacle water tube, and it makes for the best vaping experience I've ever had by far.

You can get adapters for them at Planetvape, make sure you get a 14mm adapter

just my 2 cents.

I've been trying to clean the stainless steel bowl with iso and Q-tips... not working for me, not enough scrubbing action. I went a little crazy on 'super concentrates'

What's another way to clean and not damage or clog up the joints on the ss bowl?

Massdrop just started another Solo sale for $119: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/arizer-diffuser-solo

Their shipping is slow, so consider buying elsewhere if that's a concern. They did say they were looking into other shipping services, but I'm not sure if that's been decided yet. Mine just arrived, by the way (from the previous drop). Took 2 weeks to get here (Belgium, Europe).

@SmokeWeedErrrDay I just bought one on ebay for $125 shipped with 2 day shipping plus a free grinder. FUCK MASSDROP! (i mean that in no way as derogatory towards anyone here using massdrop)
I suggest taking a look on ebay if they are going cheap. I have personally had good customer service through ebay vendors. Its also nice to know your double protected by ebay and paypal.

On lighter new, thanks to this thread I am now waiting for shipping of my first solo. should be a well received switch from the Wychwood. as my last portable choice was just not for me (firewood) It had its perks and will prolly be used in events where "ditching" would be needed, but i really wanted the solo as my home portable. i mean, i love staring at that wall to vape, but id much rather go outside or sit elsewhere to vape. hope to get it by the weekend.

Do it i've had my solo for about three weeks and I love this device, haven't smoked since and I'm not looking back. Plus this thread is full of great people and great advice. I just pulled the trigger on on WT from SAM at gbd and once the rest of my stuff comes from PV I know I'll love the solo even more. I got mine from eBay for 127.00 but I heard some people have had problems my experience was totally positive though hope that helps

Not only that but I like having a water tool, a shorty from PV, a wood stem from Ed's... and then I pick whatever stem I choose depending on my mood..

The water tool can be used with the GONG High efficiency solo pieces from PV, and Ed's wood stem as well.

It's a nice selection to add spice and variety to the experience. Plus the wood is always easier for on the road.. no risk of glass breakage.

My charger stand is on the way from Pipes, so looking forward to it. I think it will also protect the bottom (plastic) plate of the solo...

What color did you get? I got black.

Would be great to see a pic of your setup.

My All-In-One adapter/charger by pipes just arrived, and I must say that I am very, very pleased. Thank you pipes! (: If he is still selling the adapters, I highly recommend to those w out one

Two weeks in and I'm still loving the Solo.... It has been an excellent addition to the family. Got a PA+Stand on the way from Pipes too(thanks man)!

It has, however, made me start to think I should check out some water filtration. The setups I'm seeing posted here have piqued my interest. I loved hitting the bong back in the day but I've been only vaping I ditched all my glass.

What's the attraction for you folks? Tastier? bigger clouds?..or ust nice to change up the scenario and enjoy a different experience once in awhile?

Yep, yep and yep. Although for me, I can never go back to the standard stems. The cooling action from a tool is just much easier on the body. I've been meaning to try the "frozen-dry" tube method but the ladies in my house have all kinds of stanky frozen in-case-of-zombie-apocalypse type food in there so I don't want it smelling up my works.

As an ex-bong smoker (4-5 months in), I have to say that even without a water tool, vapor is smooth as shit. I have no problem with hooking up a standard stem for a bit of portability. That being said, water tools will give you such smoothness overkill that it's hard to turn down. At home I'll almost always hit through a bubbler/frozen sherlock. With decent glass available at bottom dollar (check out the "cheap, high-quality glass" thread, I just got a HC bub for $33 inc post), there's really no reason not to hook it up. You'll be pleasantly surprised :)

I have a bunch of water path setups: Sherlock, Ash Catchers, Bubblers.

However I have been so content with a stock stem with a chillum tip "DRY"!
Today DRY tomorrow WET.
Mixing it up every which way!

The Solo is such a fun vape. Just works wonderfully and can be configured for your enjoyment in so many ways. Just go nuts! Get different stems, WT's, power adapter/charger systems like Tim's or Pipe's, and kick back. You're gonna love how effortless and effective the Solo gets once you've driven it round the block a few times. Enjoy!

The one thing is to temper expectations. The Solo is not a desktop vape, while many of us treat it as such, it is a battery powered hand-held. The power is limited.

As long as you don't expect desktop performance from a hand held, the solo can treat you right. There is a reason so many of us are pumped for the CLOUD EVO, more power, better efficiency, big huge clouds etc..

The Solo is best when compared to hand-helds.

It depends on where you live. If you're in US/Canada, then by all means, let the Massdrop fornication commence in bulk. For int'l orders who didn't mind the wait though, going through Massdrop was a *lot* cheaper than all the others.

I might add to the wise words above that for many of us the power of the Solo is quite enough. I get lung bursting very cloudy rips from my Solo straight from the stem, and even bigger milky blasts with my bubbler. Sometimes I think that any more than that would just be wasted. The Solo is primo-efficient for me. I use far less herb and enjoy the effects much more than the combustion of the past. Yes, because I am a tech enthusiast and always want the latest and greatest toys, I will probably get the Cloud EVO and even the Herbalizer, but having the Solo I don't really need them.

Well, I'll go check out GBD and make a visit to aqualabtech. I think a bubbler is in my future. Not too much diffusion for vape+water filtration, right?

@Snappo While exhaling from the Solo I often find myself thinking, "Who the heck could need a bigger hit than this?", . That being said...It's always fun to try.

Thx all.

I mean, yes but now I feel guilty for going for bigger clouds :whoa::lol:. I just ran some shower head bubbler on the solo and at first I was all :|, a few moments later...:smug: and even that was like 3 rips after the fact, was just trying to clear the load on a shorty pack.

I think with the desktop units, the expectation is more about maximum efficiency, power, consistency, thickness of clouds per load size/type etc... maybe. For example, when the Solo battery runs low, it seems way less efficient, and there is some uneven roasting. Some people have trouble with the draw, but then there are PVHES and other custom accessories that make it go beyond.

But these are minor nitpicks for a small unit, the trade offs etc... Some of which have been addressed with inventive solutions and hard work by local FC accessory makers like Pipes et. al

I'm having trouble deciding between the pinnacle wt for the solo or the f-bomb. Please chime in if you have either or both and let me know what you do and do not like about them

I agree with you slightly but I feel the Da buddha is tastier as it almost 100% convection where as the solo uses some conduction. So bowls in Da buddha last longer and don't get as scorched.
