Greetings all,

I am in the market for my first glass. I plan on using it with my LSV as well as eventually taking concentrate hits with a nail/dome setup. My top priority is to have as much flavor as possible. I don't take massive hits, so I chose something under 16". I have done a lot of homework and I've narrowed it down to these two:

1. HVY Mini Tube
2. B. Wilson 6 arm bubbler with dewar seal

They both look nice and seem easy to clean. I really dont have a lot of experience so I don't know the functionality difference of the straight tube vs bubbler. Which would you all recommend? Thanks in advance!

I absolutely love my bubbler and never use my tube, although it is a cheap tube with a chuggy downstem

stickstones,
i would for sure go with the b wilson six arm. wilson is a top notch blower. that and tree percs have very little drag, and a nice taste. the straight tube would deliver a more punching, right-to-the-dome kind of hit, but also have higher potential for getting a little kiss of water, and down stems get dirty crazy fast. also in my opinion hvy makes quality glass, but they dont seem to offer much innovation. most of their stuff seems like it was inspired by pre-existing pipes, by syn, zob or a few others.

If flavor is your #1 concern, avoid tubes with fat bores like that HVY (the bore refers to the diameter of the tube). You want to look for something with a skinnier mouthpiece/bore, exactly like you see on the Ben wilson.

Why? This concentrates the vapor in a much thinner stream as you're inhaling. The result is that more vapor passes over your tongue instead of all over your mouth, and flavor is improved
This is even moreso important when you're using concentrates

A lot of bubblers have small mouthpiece holes, but you can find tubes with that too. They're often called "peashooters" but can be a bit difficult to find.

If you wanted a small mouthpiece bubbler, but at the price of that HVY, this $100 showerhead bubbler just turned up on another thread. Its got a super low volume which is definitely awesome as a flavor saver

Considering it's your first glass I say neither. Get an ehle or a magic glass imho. Good luck regardless

Its always nice to have a functional and easy to clean straight tube around. You can add a showerhead diff to the tube also. In my opinion the tube will hit harder and will be harsher. The bubbler will be smoother but will be harder to clean and might not be as durable. Honestly I think you should plan on getting both a tube and a bubbler for your collection depending on how often you medicate...

Vertigo is an excellent crafts man, he pays attention to welds. The circ is reinforced to the bottom of the can for extra stability and low water needs.

I'd choose it over mobius

Ok, I bought it :). What I really wanted to get a mobius ion reti but they are just so darn rare. I just so happen to live in socal and I found some headshops with the mobius matrix but no one had the reti. I heard from several people that the matrix has too much diffusion for saving flavor. Also the matrix is 330+ tax. That puts it well over the vertigo's price since ALT is having a sale. I was looking at that vertigo but I didnt want to go over $200... but decided to just pull the trigger after I read about tree percs vs showeheads and everyones reply on here. I also did notice how the perc sits low which is real nice. The only slight negative I will give the vertigo is the logo is too big. Otherwise its perfect :)

I'd better go order my LSV 18mm glass adapter!

Also, Can anyone recommend a fair priced globe set to match the vertigo?

Just a globe? or a globe kit

Hell yeah! I suggest you get something around 10 inches. Dave Goldstein's makes some great vapor rigs. His fritted discs are dank, a very respectable perc in the glass community.

I think it might be a little late on the suggestion. OP was over a year ago. :)
