I need the version for dummies. What is the "tolerance issue" and how can I avoid it? I'm hoping to learn how to proceed when I receive my SR-71. I don't want to damage it! I've marked the first forum page where talk about experiences with the new Hercules began, so I can re-read it and absorb. But even after reading it all, there are still a few things I don't understand. I'm guessing that I'm supposed to get the #10 washer, and then if I'm in the lucky 50% my Herc v2 might work - is this correct? I appreciate what G did to help me get my SR-71. I'm trying to honor that and do my best to use it well.

:leaf:

You can try.

Here is what we mean.

Tolerance is on the materials during manufacturing process. During mass production this happens. so the solution is the stainless top cap.

I have loaded .5 and have not even seen a wisp of vapor yet

We have started production on the Stainless Top Cap and will have it out asap. This fixes all the tolerance issues known and no more issues should arise.

Okay guys, update. I adjusted the mouthpiece a bit more, this time making sure to adjust the mouthpiece collar even more and leave a small space between the mouthpiece and the Hercules. I dropped a mere .1 or .2 in and hit the button...

Ho...lee...fuck! :ko:

I was bombarded with what seemed like an endless amount of absolutely delicious vapor clouds. Herculean rips on the SR-71 have been achieved. There is no way that the .1 or .2 that I dropped in could produce the amount of vapor that I was blasted with, so I'm thinking it's definitely heating up a little of what was left in the coil. I hope some of you guys have more luck after trying the mouthpiece adjustment. This thing is a goddamn beast!

G, am I wrong in saying that the old tanks don't fit and if not, are there going to be new ones as well?

Are the stainless tops going to be shipped out as an included fix or will they need to be purchased separately?

They will be shipped out once we get them. This means no other hercules will leave our shop not replacements new orders or even god himself asks for one. I dont care what i said before things change and we need to get it right from now on. Yes we make effective devices but we need to get our act straight and make sure its 100%.

I 100% agree with your deciision. It sure would save so stress for you guys that are working so hard right now. Allows you to focus on the long term solution :)

Glad we got you to take off. See man it just takes a few hairs pulled couple of bruised knuckles, and a lot of oil.

This thing flies.

I actually just had the same problem again but now I am absolutely 100% certain that it is the airflow, so I'm not worried. Just going to wait until the new mouth pieces are ready. Just the brief glimpse I got of its power is enough to make me wait in anticipation for the new piece. :p

Can i use the hercules/hammer+bender with my 510 ecig mods provided i buy a 510-601 adapter? All the talk of single and double persei hammer top cap thingies is confusing me. Looking for a nice portable herb vape and the ability to use batteries/mods i already have would be wonderful.

Most of these attachments are high powered , if your device can handle 7.4v & 30 + watts then you can probably run the hercules 7.4v.

Hopefully one of the awesome knowledgable electrical engineers can bless us with a more technical and precise answer.

Most devices I've seen max out at 6.0 volts!!!

The persei comes with 2 tops/ one single head that supports one cartridge/tank at a time or a double head that supports 2 of the Essential oil carts from w9tech at the same time !!!

Howdy, welcome to the forum. You interest in vapes serves you well, keep at it by all means.

Unfortunately the three products you name are much too powerful for the mods you have by a fair margin. You can use the TV Ultra and Ultra Max (with adapters) and a few of the 'switch in a box' mods (but most if not all them pack it in due to excessive current demands). Nothing you're likely to have.

Persei and Iris (when it becomes available again) are probably your best calls.

Yes I have found several single 18650 pure mechanical mods, but a 7.4V high current mechanical is rare. Have found one full mechanical with no circuit board etc. Just a big switch and allows 2 18350... Not sure on the threading, but 510 probably. Still, the Persei is a good bet to. A present VMOD will most likely never work. Too much electronics for the power. That;'s the special feature of the Iris...

Cool thanks for the quick replies guys. I have one 'switch in a box' mod i was thinking might do the trick with stacked 18350's (It has gold plated brass connections and seems to be well built) but yeah the rest either top out at 6v or are shoddy.

Thanks for the pics of the top caps Blaze, alot of things are making more sense now.

I've been lurking for a few months now and was convinced to pick up an extreme-q and it has completely replaced any combustion i was doing around the house. Thanks for all the help!

Edit: Gonna break out the 'ol multimeter and see if it'll work. If not ill be taking a second look at the persei and now the iris. I have a propensity for gadgets so one more certainly couldnt hurt...

The bender definitely has my attention. Can't seem to find my MM to test my mod but if its up to spec ill be ordering the bender this week. If not ill have to wait till i can decide which setup to use with it.

Also if it does seem to meet standards would it make sense to try and test it under load somehow?

Well when you drag out the meter, verify the SR-71 is assembled correctly aka measures the infamous ~1.5 ohms.

If the mod is pure mechanical and adjusts for 2 18350, it should work. The metal doesn't know the voltage (to a point), only the current which would be the same - 5A. The IR drop of the metal is the same - same current, same metal resistance. Its the load that sees the true wattage. That is assuming the voltage does cause a breakdown on isolation which changed the metal resistance, the 3.6V addition isn't a big deal there.

The Persei has an adjustment plate to allow for the different lengths of the 18650 and 2x 18350s.

Oh, goto love the Extreme-Q - I have one also :)

One thing with manual mods (power supplies without electronics) is that they just need to be able to handle 6 amps of power and have proper vent holes just in case batteries decide to take a dump.

The switch assembly and bottom spring is the two weak points.

no doubt you are on your own with them, no safety features with high drain batteries, failures will happen, just a matter when :)

Man when people warning me about charging them while I am away... Thats low current compared to use. If something goes wrong with the load (whatever reason - water...) the weak link could be the battery. Typically, something else is designed to fail first that has less risk - like the spring, switch or top. Having a battery explode isn't good. I rather send my top for replacement - even if on my nickel. Only money, not health...

Hi G
Will the new top for the Herc go down inside the ss tube far enough to hold the oil coil down all the way? Seems that it wants to slide up when layed on its side sometimes and this makes it hard to get the heat to the oil. Then I overheat the oil and it runs down below,
Can we use the ss tanks without the tops if we remove the screen from MP? Will we be able to use the ss tanks with the new MP?
Thanks G

The BENDER if you have some time to sit back relax and enjoy is pure divine luxury!

Not for the JERRY SPRINGER type!
