Going to a festival, need a new portable!

I lost my MFLB at 12000 feet this past spring and now my Pax won't charge. I'm heading to Interlocken in a few weeks and I'm looking for a new portable. It would need to be reliable, rechargeable, and easy to use. It would be for flowers, mainly. I also don't want to spend too much as I need to get a bunch of other items for the trip.
My solo will be coming, but I find it just a little too bulky to carry around all day...

i think the iolite or wispr (both 2.0) are the ultimate festival vaporizers. you just need some butane that's it...

mrweed,
Tstat, you ever consider getting a concentrate pen? I know you said for flowers mainly, but if you have your Solo with you then it sounds like you've got a decent 'base camp' vape. Maybe you just need something to take a quick hit here and there to keep you medicated.

I've been using mine all summer for discreet outdoor vaping. Festivals, amusement parks, zoos, on the walk home from work... A single 14500 (AA) battery will easily last me 1.5+ days if I don't mind the hits getting whispy near the end. Three charged batteries can pretty much get me through an average work week. You could easily build one on the cheap.

For flowers, I'd suggest the Palm 2.0 - especially since you are familiar with the MFLB. It can be had for around $70 on eBay - I've seen it elsewhere for as low as $50, but I think that promo has ended. It's very Palm-able, uses the same type of batts at the LB (since you probably already have some), and I have to say it is one tasty little vape.

if you are considering butane, then you should also look into the hammer

The hammer is one of my favorite portable flower vapes but its horrible for stealth and I wouldnt really want to be using that at a concert.

KIng, would you mind elaborating on your concentrate pen setup?

It was an actual retailer that was offering the Palm 2.0 at that price.

There are a few members here who have succesfully bought a Palm 2.0 from eBay retailer(s), Dogman included. OT, but I purchased a genuine Pinnacle WT from an eBay seller who sells Palm 2.0's. I doubt he's buying legit glass from them and fake vapes.

Also, I've yet to see any fake Palm 2.0 from China yet.

Assuming you didn't also lose all your batteries and charger, you might consider looking for a seller that would offer just the box at a reduced price. Then, wait for the Ascent.

Those are all Palm knock-offs. I specifically stated Palm 2.0 in all my posts.

I second the Palm 2.0 especially if you do still have the Older batteries from your MFLB . you won't be disappointed Imho .

do you guys find it pratical to carry around batteries in a festival? and having to charge them and whatnot?

i think a butane powered is the best in these kind of settings.

Whatever you end up with, Interlocken is going to be the sickness. Enjoy! Best line up I have ever seen!

Wow, thanks for all the suggestions, Palm 2 looks interesting and I do have batts and a nice charger. I had never heard of it before. It looks like it holds a lot of material. Is it the same basis as the MFLB, with the screen heating up?

So, I contacted Vape World and I'm sending my Pax in under warrenty. I might get it back in time, but I'm not sure.

Edit: So I'm 50 and a veteran of MANY dead shows starting in 1979. I've seen a few Furthur shows, Phil, etc and really enjoyed them. Not to the pont where I wanted to run around with them again, however. So Interlocken comes up. My old touring buddy lives about 1/2 hour from the site. I'm old, have a bad back, and haven't slept in the woods since Highgate 1995! But I kept looking at the lineup and just could not resist!

I'll be driving down with my 24 YO son and partying with hippies once again! So, I really need some portable medicine :)

Still missing Jerry, especially this week.

Edibles might have a place at a festival as well, then you don't have to worry about batteries, butane or anything. A lighter based device like a Vapor Genie might also work, and its basic simplicity becomes a virtue.

I second the concentrate pen. I use mine all the time in situations like concerts. I used it for the At the Gates concert I was at tonight and it was great having the ability to puff away without taking my eyes off the performers or put my other hand down.

I even asked the security team if I could vape ecigs in the venue. They said I was good to go! Bet they didn't know what was IN the ecig though :)

If you have access to bubble hash or kief, I might recommend the iolite/wispr! They excel at doing dry, crumbled up hash or kief on a bed of ground greens.

You can extend the amount of dosage per bowl, of a vape limited by portable energy like butane, by adding kief or crumbled up hash to the mix.

I like the Firewood, but I think the charge time is too long for this purpose, unless it keeps the charge for a long time. I wouldn't be able to recharge it in my car (does it even have a car charger option?) for 5 hours. I'm getting a car charger for the Solo, but that only takes 20 minutes or so to recharge. Same with a Pax.

I'll often even bring an e-cig cart/atomizer already on my device, that way if anyone wants to check it... it is an e-cig.

I think unless the battery will last you at least a full day of vaping, the best bet is to go with a vape that has replaceable/rechargeable batteries. You can take as many as you want, fully charged. If you don't have easy access to an outlet you could just bring enough to keep you going the whole time.

Personally i wouldnt take the firewood for the exact reasons you listed. I have one, its ok on a drive if im gonna be able to sit al reload and such, but its a little finicky for me... i dont feel comfortable using in total public either. it seems to stick out a bit. no car charging without an ac plug. and yes, if you drain it it takes a long time to charge. mine can last me all "Day" but by night its dead if i havnt charged it. and thats at home where im not distracted using it... very finicky is the firewood for me at least. so much in fact that really if you can use a lighter based one im considering a Vapor Genie product for my next purchase.
