Suggestions for a big hitting vape

Hey guys, I've been lurking for awhile but have come to a dilemma that I was hoping for some direction on. I am trying to venture away from combustion with a water pipe so I am looking for a big hitting vape that I will want to use. The two that have caught my interest recently from reading the threads are the new Vapexhale Eagle that is being released and the Sublimator. I am not a very experienced vaporist so I will probably have a learning curve with both but i feel that the Sublimator's will be greater. I will be using this solo but also with small groups of friends from time to time. I like how the sub produces reclaim that you can easily save. It also seems to get you a lot from your flowers and most users seem to love it. The ease of combustion and exposed heating element kind of turn me off because I hate getting burned. The Eagle appears to be an awesome device that is just simple and the price seems like a bargain through their current campaign. But it seems like the Sublimator can provide a little more when used correctly and when you aren't branding yourself. Therefore my question is, what would you recommend for an inexperienced vaporist who wants a big hitting vape but will probably not buy another vape for a good while? Also if you believe the sub is the way to go, would you go with an adapt-a-bong and some new glass or the special edition package?

Thanks for all of the help and I'm excited to become part of the FC community. I hope to keep learning a lot from you guys.

CLOUD or the upcoming nimbus/eagle

Plus you can directly hook up to glass

Also you could look into the sublimator

Lifesaber Vaporizer.

There is a chance for combustion, but once mastered the LSV creates massive clouds. It really shines when using through water in my opinion. For the price, I don't know if you can find a harder hitting or more durable vaporizer.

I also would suggest the LSV. I just got mine a couple days ago from the classifieds and I am in love. I hooked it up to a piece of glass and was blown away. Can't recommend it enough even after just a couple uses!

7th Floor makes solid, versatile vaporizers. You can hit them hard and fast at high temps for big hits or low and slow for the best flavor at lower temps. All 3 of them pair well with water tools, especially the LSV. You can't go wrong with any of them IMO.

for me the firewood vaporizer is a heavy hitter! gets me pretty stoned(!)

if it's between the nimbus or sublimator, I would say get the nimbus. Maybe the sublimator is a heavy-hitter, but he's also an weed eater...

Welcome to the forum as an official member!

I will try to break it down for you as I understand the 2 vapes.

Cloud/Eagle: this is a vape that is safe to use, will give off great clouds with awesome consistency every time (as long as you have it dialed in correctly.) this vape is a little more fragile than most (IME) I had one of the original ticker units, but it stopped ticking on me... getting it fixed under warranty once they are able to.

hitting the cloud is easy. do it as you like! but the stronger the haul, the better the extraction imo.
heatup time (on the cloud unit): 10 min

It was the most tasty vape I had at the time and if memory serves me correctly even more so than the sub is. the ELB's (the cartridge you load your herbs into for the cloud) benefit from a stir about 50-75% of the way though it's life... usually taking an 80% loaded elb 5-7 hits to pooch it.

the sub:
built like a fucking tank. this thing is much more durable and will take a beating. I have the adapt a bong, and the weakest part of it is the electric dial switch on the cable. The new version comes with a different setup I think though. but the apollo and atomizer are not going to break on you anytime soon is my point.

Heatup time: optimally 20-25 min i'd say.

there are 3 ways I like to hit my sub.
1. on a lower setting for my herbs. this way makes the sub more flavourful but it takes a stir and a 2nd hit to finish it. (there are still actives on my abv[golden at this point] but I reclaim them anyways so I don't mind)

2. on a setting about 3-5 mm higher on the dial. this bit of added heat takes away most of the flavour and replaces it with thicker vapor. this method extracts everything in one hit. the abv is dark brown at this point

3. even higher, maybe 4-8mm higher this is the temp I use to put sub oil/other oils into my apollo crater. this thing vapes oils beautifully! I've not really needed my Ti pad since. i won't but oils i deem to be sub par in it though. I would be sad to clog up one of the apollos airways!

pros and cons time! (all my opinion)

Pros:

Sub - hits super fast! once up to temp you can rock a session in 2 min and get blasted! hits herbs and oils very well

Cloud - safe to transport more quickly than the sub is, tastes better, safer to use/noob friendly (as long as they don't drop it!)

Cons:

Sub- takes 30-45 min to cool down for transport, dangerous to your house/property/yourself if you are not vigilant on being aware of it's presence. uses more herb in the long run

Cloud- more delicate, takes longer to get medicated (the process of loading and stirring) not available today.

both are great devices and I would recommend either one really. I think the cloud is more noob (your friends) friendly though.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I've looked at the SSV and LSV but was easily distracted when I came across the sublimator and the Eagle. I will start to give them a second look. While I would love the Eagle as a personal vape I am scared that my friends will get clumsy and break it. I love the deal you get with the campaign but patience isn't one of my strongest qualities. The special edition Sublimator is becoming more and more interesting since it seems to be pretty sturdy. The exposed heating element still makes me a little wary, but it seems like with practice you become conscience of it. Weedemon and Mrweed, or anyone that knows, when you say you use more herb in the long run are you comparing that to combustion with waterpipes or when compared to the Cloud/Eagle? Also do you know if the atomizer for the special addition kit is the same as the adapt-a-bong and can be used with other glass? And is the Sublimator receiving any upgrades in the near future? I guess I'm wondering if its a good time to buy or if the will be releasing a new model in the coming months.

I'm comparing this to other vaporizers in general, but yes it would also apply to the cloud. I would think this is still going to save you money long term if you are still currently smoking your herbs!

as for the sub in the future there will be a Ti (instead of stainless steel) version at some point... buthttas still supposed to be secret. the atomizer / apollo units are the same no matter what sub setup you get.

good luck to you and I hope you are able to make a good choice on what will work best for you!

I only have a Cloud and the Sub is under my theoretical research.

anyway...

Both Sub and Cloud/Eagle are sources of heavy convenction therefore heavy hitters. And both are meant to go into waterpiece. Sub seems to me to be more preferred dry.

There is very little conduction in a Cloud/Eagle - that protects herbs from vaping off without pulling on it (it still happens just way slower).

There is a lot of conduction in a Sub - making it start milking even sooner and giving the already powerful convection heat a performance lift.

Cloud/Eagle gives exceptionaly consistent and tasty vapor because of the glass bamboo. It probably has less drag.

Cloud/Eagle is bigger and safer, gives vapor on demand and waste is minimal. It has great ability to pause and return vaping bowl.

A basic Sub is small. It is very hot to touch on the active parts, can milk a tube more and faster. Extracts faster, can hardly pause a bowl.

Sub is said to have an astomization effect going on just below the chamber. Pulling the vapor through hot tiny hole probably making it easier to absorb. There is a research thread about this effect somewhere here.

There is also another top-notch heavy hitter Herbalizer in making. Can be preordered yet not even no price is officialy there. It should be an ultimate whip/bag combo vape. There are already some reviews in Plug-in vapes subforum.

Only sub is available right now if I am right (here for 500+$). Maybe there can be some Cloud+ left in distribution (450+$). Eagle is on preorder for 350+$ here.

If you already have glass you like and want to clean it and use it with vapor, then the LSV would be the most economical choice, and it will punch you in the face. The campaign price on the Eagle is ridiculous, so if you can wait for the unit, that is probably the best deal out there right now and the one I would recommend. The Sub is fantastic, but the adapt-a-bong will send you looking for a kit of your own to go with it...I recommend the kit they sell for it.

Those are the heavy hitters I like best. If you decide to go the Eagle route and have to wait a little bit, get yourself a Vapolution 2 for $100 and enjoy that before and after you get your big hitter. Or, you could just get that one first to make sure you like vaping like pcpvapors said.

My glass was recently KIA due to a friend's lapse in judgement. That's actually what gave me the final push to switch to vapor. I am also trying to get back into good shape and figured this would be a good lifestyle change in that direction. I have vaped on a few occasions before but nothing extensive. I will be needing a complete set up no matter which way I go, but I am leaning towards the special edition sub. With my glass just breaking, I have a fear that the eagle is going to be off for repairs more than it will be used. Wish I could just get both, but Vapexhale will definitely stay on my radar for when i don't have roommates and have a quiet place to vape. Just out of curiosity, what do y'all reach for when you are by yourselves vs when you have company over? And as far as health is the sub still seen as being "safe?" I know an all glass path is the way to go as far as health, but I can't get myself over that glass breaking as soon as I'm falling in love with my new vape.

LSV for myself and a few guests. Volcano with larger groups. Sometimes I rock the Solo at home when I'm not planted in my cave. The Pax and a concentrate pen are always with me when I'm on the go.

when I'm alone I typically use the SSV, the Solo or the Revolution. For a couple of people or a small group, I find the Solo works well. It's amazing how long that thing will hit. The Volcano is the best for large groups. It's a real workhorse.

I grab the Cloud most of the time because it is easy. Both the Cloud and the Sub have their challenges when sharing. With the Cloud I would worry about the vape. With the Sub I would be worried about the users.

since I have gotten the sublimator that and the solo(for my portable needs) is all I have been using. if i had my cloud still I would be torn for choice as to what i use. once I have my eagle, I will find my answer I guess.

with my sub, if i question the competence of my friend I will assist them in using it. I show them my burn, and they generally oblige!

LSV for me and a select few friends. When I'm with a bunch of vape newbs I usually pull out the solo despite having a small bowl, but that's really only so I can enjoy myself instead of having to worry about the LSV and bong passing around and getting broken or having someone actually combust because they don't know what they are doing (learned that one the hard way)

I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...
LSV hits hard and is optimum for use with water. It's good for 1 up to 6 people. Some complain about its conservation. But I put about a good sized bowl amount in mine with a hydra tube and passed it around between five of us and everyone said uncle while there was still vape left.
