Da Vinci Essential Earth Blends

I've recently come into possession of two blends of the Essential Earth Blends from Da Vinci, Calm and Energy. I've never really done aromatherapy with much more than herb, so this was my first foray into legitimate aromatherapy.

http://www.davincivaporizer.com/aromatherapy-essential-oil-blends/

So I woke up today and had the package in the mail. The blends come in sealed packets roughly 2.5"x1.5" in size and contain two cans, identical to the ones that come with the da-vinci. The package has directions on them They are color coded to match the package. Red for energy, blue for calm, etc.

I've only so far tried the 'Energy' blend. The first thing to hit you is the intense, delicious flavor of ginger. The flavor is very intense and delicious, and reminded me of cotton candy. The flavor is sweet and delicious and is not harsh at all, it's water based so it feels like it really soothes your throat and lungs.

After taking some deep inhales through my cleaned Da Vinci, i began to feel more alert in a way im not especially familiar with. It wasn't like a caffeine hit, or nicotine hit that makes you wake up. It was a slow, gradual awakening that seemed to bring my perception up. I began feeling this restless feeling, almost like an aching, in my arms and legs, as if I wanted to jump up and take a jog or just do something. It wasn't unbearable, but it was definitely encouraging me to get up and go!

So I'll try out the calm blend tonight when I'm winding down, but now I feel like running by a few friends houses and getting some work done.. like how I need to change my oil on my car, I've been procrastinating!

If anyone else have experiences with these I'd love to hear them, I highly suggest them. At first the price point seems steep, but after seeing the delivered product and how it's ready to go as soon as it arrives, I think I'm going to check out some of the other blends until I finish my T-break, specifically Breathe.

Hey! The Da Vinci guys say there's an estimated 30 draws per canister, and the package recommends 5-10 draws per session. The package also recommends a temperature between 220-320F, so I used the middle ground at 270. There is little vapor production but the effect is present. I maxed out the Da Vinci for my last drag and noticed no burning taste or effects, and a considerable cloud of vapor that made my mouth tingle enjoyably. I think I personally can get two complete sessions and maybe a few puffs out of each cannister, but following the temperature guide would prolong their lifespan. I will stay in the temp range on my next canister and count the deep inhales I take; I'd like to say, though, not everyone has the same lung capacity or speed on inhale.

Something I also noticed was with my newer model Da Vinci, if I inhaled quickly the canister airlocked up against the top screen so all the heat drew through it. Casually puffing on it allows some heat to go around the cannister and mix in with it, prolonging the lifespan of the cartridge as well. So, really, you could make a can last one session with hard-long pulls and maxing out or going beyond temp ranges, or staying in suggested ranges and getting 3-6 sessions in, depending on your inhale count and all techniques associated. Edit: tldr - look at elevations post above

Good review. Can't wait to hear your review on the calm blend. I found the same, ginger flavor was awesome and not harsh at all. It is a very balanced blend that I really enjoyed. And Again this morning used the other can of energy and it does work and taste great. I also recommend trying it.

I posted the same yesterday in the Davinci thread. But thought I would post again here. http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/davinci-pocket-vaporizer-by-karma.4928/page-87#post-385521

At $7 each, I would like to know if a can last more then a session?

Yes Mine Have. Sorry I wasn't very clear (I said finished and meant session finished in my earlier post in the dv thread.) I did roughly 12 draws at 220~ 245F in the first session. Then removed the can from the dv so it could cool more rapidly. Then a additional session roughly 12 draws again about A hour later at 260~300F which was my favorite. Very intense flavor, but not harsh. Then this morning I tried to use it one more time from 300~335 which is a little higher than the 320F that package says. Got a little more but not as much as I wanted so I switched to the new can.

Do you think maybe you should turn off the heat after a few hits then take your last few? Maybe this will cool the can more and not have conduction even after you take it out for a few minutes or so.

Thanks for the info this is very interesting. Maybe mine is sitting in the mailbox.

Will these cans work in the ascent, or any other vaporizer for that matter? Seems interesting but I'm not about to buy into an older generation vape for it.

I think they are coming out with the same thing for there new vape if I understood it correctly. So you are all good centizen.

I got mine in the mail today and will try the calm tonight and maybe try and go to sleep before 2am and try the energy even though I don't need it in the morning and report back.

i have all of the different blends, but have only done the Calm. Im at 7200 feet so I may use a higher temp, but i go about 340-360 to really vaporize the kava-kava. it feels nice after a bowl, your body just feels super relaxed.

on another note i picked up some kava-kava and california poppy tinctures today. i was wondering if i can use those in the little oil cans??

Well I guess getting the oils was a great thing cause for the first time I removed my bottom screen as I wanted a totally clean DV to try them. I do have a question however...the screen seemed to be domed so does it go dome up or down. If I saw correctly it looked like the place where the screen went was concave so that would be dome down. I know I put it back in dome up but I can try to get it out again if it is upside down if it matters.

Now for the blends. I did two sessions with calm last night and had no effect and still went to sleep at 2am. I did three sessions of energy today and I am tired so I don't think either work on me.

J-man let me know what happens with higher temp. I am not at sea-level so maybe I need higher temp as well. I have been using it at 315.

it works for me at the higher temp. i do it that high cuz kava kava is the main ingredient in the Calm blend. here is a webpage ive been using for reference:

hope that helps everyone!!! im currently on some california poppy tincture, it feels quite nice!!

So 375 for the calm and what do you recommend for the energy one? I will try again and see what happens. I guess the temps on the package are way off. I just read ginger is 365 hmmmmmm

Would be nice if theses could be used with other vapes. Sounds interesting.

Not sure tweak so far I am a total fail with these things. I feel nothing. I even did them with no herb in my system. Well none since I went to sleep when I tried it in the morning lol.

they will be soon offering these blends in bottles, which could then be used as any essential oil would in any other vape.

im about to try the energy. ill let you know how it goes. i will start at 320, then go to 340, then end at 360 or more for the Energy to get the green tea, ginger, and gaurana. these temperatures are all based off the site i posted

EDIT: did about 3 or four draws at each temp, did kick it up to 374 at the end. tastes very good. i definitely feel a little energetic, as opposed to before i was very tired about to fall asleep. i can feel it in my chest/lungs for sure. feel sharper. definitely was a nice pick me up. id recommend looking up all the temps for each ingredient of the blends and then do a couple puffs at each temperature as i did. i will try this next time i do the Calm and see if the effects differ

I wonder since these are extracts if the extra heat actually affects it. Are the temperatures that are used for reference for solid herbs or extracts, or unspecified? I noticed a much larger vapor production at higher temps that I personally enjoyed.

I also think I was expecting something other than what I got with the calm blend. it's more sued for stress than winding down after a long day; relax is the extract we'd want to use to get a nice winding down effect. Just something to keep in mind. I didn't feel much from the calm, but at the same time, life isn't overly stressful. I'm saving one canister of calm for that stressful day to give it a fair trial.

If they release them in tinctures or droppers, I'll absolutly have to pick some up; I would probably put in a small pg/vg and some sweetener and put them in my ecigs when I decide to cut down nicotine levels (currently at 24mg)

I now have tried different temps with both samples and got zero. I like the taste, I don't like zero vapor feedback...A wisp would be nice but that has nothing to do with DV. Warming up to take ten hits is a pain but worth it if it did to me what it is suppose to. I tried it most times with as little herb in my system to give it a fair shot but no help. I think calm actually made me jittery and within a half hour used some ww to bring me to normal. I suspect that was in my head since it was the first try the other day. I have tried it since and I couldn't repeat it. I will keep playing to see what happens. I am trying to get a non mj person to try it and see what happens but so far no luck hehe.

Is it safe for kids? Can I safely make my son do it or is that a bad bad mommy? It is just herbs after all...

id do a search on each herb and get all the details before doing so. webmd is a pretty good source. the blends arent overwhelming, but do produce an effect. the Energy one wore off pretty quick. ive been taking droppers full of tinctures (tincture=alcohol, vs. essential oils) of california poppy and kava kava. havent done the kava, but its definitely effected my friends that have tried it. the california poppy is somewhat benzo-like, but definitely nothing super strong. im considering to try vaporizing the dry herbs to see if the effects differ. be careful with herbs, they are just as strong as any prescription drug. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE CONSUMING!!! safe vaping :)

Oh ok, I won't even bother looking it up just won't do it. I forgot herbs can do bad things and would never ever expose my kid to that.
I was told a while back that herbs may not effect us cause we do the other herb and it is stronger. I don't know how true that is.

Hey guys, just saw this thread. I'm excited to see everyone's results, even if mixed.

I think its a personal thing as far as effect..for example I really like them, but I'm very into natural healing and such..but my friend doesn't get any effect whatsoever and is totally not into herbal blends like these. Also, it was recommended by the scientist that makes these to vape at lower temps...but I like the flavor and effect at a higher temp. I imagine it is like any other herb...different components at different temps.

Definitely try some dry herbs, but beware that the taste is hard to get out of the vape sometimes- like lavender and lemongrass...yuck. It took me days to get that flavor to go away. Kava kava is still my personal favorite and I crank the heat up to 385 when I vape it because it is so woody.

How are those tinctures working? I'm weary of vaping the alcohol...

We'll put up the 5ml bottles shortly, but as it seems to be a trend in my office..I'm waiting on packaging. Hmm...I do have some 2.5 ml bottles flying around here, I'll see if I can get them up and just stuff them in the oil can packaging.

I haven't given up yet because I want what the herbs have to offer. Only time will tell.

Tried the Energy can @ 385 and got some really tasty pulls, and a slight bit of vapor upon exhale. I felt a bit of effect after 6 slow pulls. Have not tried the Calm or the Relax yet....Great idea, hope it catches on and more users find this delivery system a winner.....

I know, crazy idea, right....herbal medicine in a vaporizer. Pure blasphemy! (***note the extreme sarcasm***)

Seriously, thanks for the support on these Essential Oils- maybe we can get vapes into WholeFoods, now wouldn't that be cool.
