obrigado :)

i should just try to reach him at the shop's email adress, i guess. he seems to have been less active on the board recently.
JRR, are you happy with your trident bubbler?

I think it is working, the fc discount has to be talked with Calen himself since i don't see anything on the website about it.

JRRTokin ordered the trident, i think it was 80$ but i am not sure.

The ordering process was smooth when I placed mine a few months ago, guessing Calen must be pretty busy at the moment. Hopefully the new site will streamline things even more when it's up and running.

Does he email you when he's finished and shipping them out?

Or should I be checking the mail...

I love my trident :love:IMO it's a perfect 1-man piece. The size is perfect, the peculation is excellent and it looks great too. A great option if you want a custom made piece.

I was never alerted that my order had shipped. So it was a surprise to see it in the mail.

Check the mail!

And the site seems to be working for ordering right now but theres still a bunch of dead links on the page the ordering system is working. A friend of mine just ordered one using the site.

Ordered online from the site sometime after June 1st (don't think I have any receipt)

Gnome arrived today, about two weeks later. Don't know if that's faster or slower than normal, just my data point.

Looking forward to trying it out! Just need to watch some user vids...

The same as mine, colour and all. Enjoy it man!

vorrange,
I sent an email like last week that I would like to finally order mine. I had talked with I believe its Calen or something a few months back about specific pieces and how much it would have been. Well I got some loot so I sent an email last week stating that I would finally like to order those pieces and I have yet to get a response back? Should I email again? Or is there someone else I could contact?

VapeNStone,
Woo hoo! My gnome cone arrived today, and she is beautiful. LOVE the swirl of green dots. When I ordered the gnome, Calen didn't have the bags online so I didn't know about them until after the fact. I emailed asking him if there was any chance I could add a bag to my order, but I never heard back from him, so I figured it wasn't possible. So what a surprise to open my package and find that Calen included a bag at no extra charge. How frickin' cool is that?

This little beauty is the perfect size and just really sharp looking. Now to start figuring out how to use it. :ko:

EDIT: looks like the instructions for use are not on the site yet. Can someone give me a quick rundown (or link?) to some beginning instructions for using the gnome cone?

Thanks Stu! Is it generally better to use ground herbs or just pinched buds in this thing? Seems like ground herbs might need a screen?

Correct. I prefer the all-glass vapor so I do not use a screen. I find that a couple of small nuggets vapes very nicely, and since I always use water filtration, there's no problem with inhaling bits.

I may try a screen with ground herb someday, I just haven't seen the need to.

I use ground buds, and I do get a bit coming through.
I never worry about it since I'm always using the WPA though :)
You can put a little bit of cotton in the mouth end of the mouthpiece if you want. I tried throwing a screen in there, but couldn't get it to stay in without flipping while stirring, so I just stopped using it.

Frederick McGuire,
First reaction...wow! Put two little nugs in the chamber and tried to heat it up with the little bic-sized jet lighter I bought...yeah, that didn't work. It was burning my thumb before it the gnome was even close to being hot enough.

So ditched that idea and got my shop torch that I use for soldering and such. Yeah, that worked! Got about five huge, flavorful hits. I will have to refine my technique, but I am impressed so far.

Will have to remember this thing gets hot. I grabbed the wrong end of the wrong piece too soon and yowza! ... my fingertips are still singing. I imagine this is a right-of-passage of sorts for gnome users.

Haha... yeah fire makes things get hot.
Welcome to the club, DudeNextDoor... I can now show you the secret handshake. ;)

I was not going to get this at first because I did not want to deal with a torch. I started doing Ti-Nail dabs though and have been using the Torch with that. I figured it was not as big of a deal as I remember. Last time I used a torch for medicating I was doing knifers. It was not the torch that was annoying it was the darn knifes. I guess I never really worked out that it was the knifes, so I had been turned off by the thought of using a torch for anything. Now that I have tried the Ti-Nails though I am impressed with easy it is.

I picked up the Cone Heat Eachanger and the Wape Waterpipe Adapter. I just want to use it with my water pipe. I think I picked up the right parts. I don't need the dry mouth piece.

Sweet, Dude! Sounds like you are learning quick ;) hehe
im always feeling where is cool enough to grab the heat exchanger so i can take a look at the herb. i still dont hve the technique down yet, but last night i got some great huge rips! I just feel bad i didnt catch it on video! time to do it all over again, then!

I was using chunks of herb in there but i like to grind it finer for more surface area, but i couldnt do this without a screen. So I took the smallest screens i had for my LSV, and just cut into one side so i could bend it up and get it down there. Sure enough its staying there after i lodged it in the first time. thatsb how i got those big ass hits anyway so i guess its working well!! I think im getting the hang of it all... slowly. HAh

And Slightly Medicated: yes you got the right parts for wet vaping only.

thank you kind sir. I am in a situation right now where I would use the gnome. I need to leave soon and I am waiting for my VHW to heat up some in the glass stand. I could be out the door already if I had used the gnome. Torch = Speedy

Second impressions: Damn! I thought this thing was going to have a learning curve. My torch heats up the glass in mere seconds, and with my second bowl, I'm already seeing how the blue flame turns yellow when it's hot enough. I can even flip sides and the yellow flame returns to blue momentarily. Very cool!

I just vaped a couple more nugs in it, and one of the hits about killed me it was so huge. I was getting as big of hits as I can get on my buddy's glass using his Life Saber. Unbelievable. The bigger torch is definitely a must, but this the one I have (one of those large cylinder things) is not very convenient to use. I've seen smaller, hand-held soldering torches at Lowe's, so I think I will be investing in one of those soon.

After I felt like I was sucking glass on this last bowl, I studied the abv. It was slightly blonder than what I get from my zap and a little blonder still from what I get from my evo. Still, the difference even from the gnome to the evo were very slight. I almost took a pic, but I figured the difference would not show; that's how minor it was. I figure grinding it might allow a bit more extraction?

Question: what is the difference in performance between the cone and the traditional slider? Are they about the same in terms of performance? Does anyone have both who can offer a comparison?

I am not of the male gender, but you are very welcome.

Dudenextdoor: I got the same kinda hits, really mind blowing huge. almost killed me too

Grinding does allow much more surface area, but i found that without a screen a lot of the finely ground stuff will come through the pinches

Just thought I'd say I'm brand new to the Gnome community. Mephisto was generous enough to give me his gnome to hold me over while I'm in between other vapes. Still reading the thread, but I just tried it for the first time and the bud toasted pretty uneven but I'm determined to practice and get the hang of it. I love the taste and the feel, but I hope I'm using it right haha
