Discontinued Gn0me - lighter based vaporizers

Indeed you are correct Frederick. I heard back from him this morning. Looks like he is making some good progress on his new website. No pics yet, but the ordering system in working. I'm interested in this new "Cone" design. Quick question since no pics yet: anyone know the difference between "transparent" colors and "opaque" colors?

http://gnomeglass.com/vapes/index.html

Opaque means you can't see through, transparent means you can ;)

edit: I'm thinking the "new" cone design might be the classic (the one I have)...

edit #2: scratch that, I have the "slider". :)

Ah, that makes sense. So for those of you who have a gnome, which looks "cooler," the opaque or the transparent? He also has two metallic colors listed. And do I go with the classic Slider or the new Cone design. Ugh! So many choices. Maybe I should wait until he gets some pics up.

If you ask me, definitely get transparent. It jsut looks so much better than opaque.

I own the classic, or "slider", and I really really recommend it. If you can afford 50$, get 2 sliders for that price. You never know, you might break one and you'll be super happy to have the second one around ;)

edit: the cone is made of ground glass so it's easier to hold. I don't have one so I can't vouch for it though

Yeah I got that same email, good thing I remembered to order one and keep quiet about it!

Until thedudenextdoor posted about it that is...

what do you mean, keep quiet about it?

"Vapes are made to order, so please allow 5 days for production."

My devilish plan was to tell you all about online ordering... :)

after he got a headstart on mine! :D

but now he'll have countless orders flooding in... not to mention the 10% "fcforum" code... whoops. :(

;)

JoeKickass,
Just got this email from Carlen concerning the differences between the Slider and the Cone:

Function is more or less the same but it is a bit bigger, takes a bit more heat, and the two parts stick together by themselves since it's a ground glass joint - it's the GonG or ground glass gnome in the FC forum thread - not exactly new but I figured it needed a decent name ^_^

It's much easier to use a screen with the cone since loading is from the front rather than the rear, and it also won't fit into regular 9.5mm pieces so you'd need a waterpipe adapter to use it with other ground glass gear. Coupon code fcforum will get you 10% off your order btw :)

Hope this helps!

I just ordered the transparent green Cone with plans to pick up a Slider down the line somewhere. I wonder what the metallic colors look like. I was tempted to try that but didn't want to jump in without any pics. I'm such a wimp. lol

I highly recommend picking up one of the carrying cases as well. Keeps everything together nicely and it's also a good place to rest a hot gn0me.

I don't think he has those on the site yet. Is it like the bag in Joe's pic above?

While I agree that it keeps (almost) everything together nicely (it only has room for 2 of the pieces...I don't use the straight GonG stem, so I keep the WPA and heat exchange part in mine), I do NOT agree that it's a good place to rest a hot gn0me. I set my hot unit on the case once and it immediately singed and blackened the material - I think it's polyester.

Yes. You can get one with three compartments that fits the slider and a little stash tube, but the cone version only has two compartments. There are some more pictures on page 10 of this thread.

Think mine's cotton. I don't rest it on the case until it's cooled for 10-20 seconds but the case has never seemed to get dangerously hot. I also have the slider, which probably cools off faster than the cone.

I think a 20 second cool-down is enough time. I probably set mine down on the case after about 10 seconds and it singed straight away. It wasn't too bad - the case didn't rip or anything, but it tought me not do ever do that again.

It seems Calen has just updated the names of the gnome.
The cone is the same as the GonGnome that you can see in my videos.
The slider is the gnome classic.

I always run my capes through water, which the cone is far better for since you can get a gong WPA for it.

The only exception to that is if you got a gnome bubbler.
That is designed to work with the slider model.

EDIT: I didn't see any of the posts on page 15 before I posted this :hmm:

Dude, i am guessing it is another name for the Gong Gn0me. The slider is the classic gn0me. The pics are on the first post of the thread. ;)

EDIT: Made the same mistake as Fredrick. hehehe.

Happened to me too, so now I rest it on the pouch but only the tip touches the material.

Hello - how can I get a gn0me ? I emailed the website, but never got an answer.

I don't know if they ship to Europe. BTW, I'd like to make a big command just I need to find other customers for Europe. Who is ready for this ?

Hello tor! You have to email Calen at gnome@gnomeglass.com , i already purchased two classic gnomes and it arrived just fine in Portugal so i think you are fine.

What do you mean by making a big comand?

I wondered if the gn0me vaporizer may have a retailer here in Europe.

I might be interested... clearing goods though customs is seldom a pleasant experience here in Berlin.

I am still waiting for Calen's response, though. In case he answers I'll try my luck and order direct. Otherwise count me in.

No, he does the gn0me himself. Too small business for a european retailer but i already ordered two and it was fine, especially since it is so small and inexpensive. I am waiting his reply on my email as well, going to order 3 more.

I started a fan base here in Portugal, hehehhe.
