I hate the taste, what's the best recipe?

So I made some coconut/butter with an entire mason jar of ABV which I used a coffee grinder for, and left it in a crock pot on low all day. I've done this before with great results, but I just can't stand the taste and I hate having to actually "eat" something.

I had good results with hot chocolate before by putting a few drops of RSO in that. This time I just can't stomach the butter/oil mixuture in the hot chocolate (actually almost threw up!). My body just rejects that smell/taste just like it does a shot of hard alcohol.

What can I do with this jar of butter/oil I made? I don't really wanna bake cookies due to the taste, and if not that then I don't wanna have to eat 4 or 5 cookies to feel it.

Any ideas? I've used it with melted chocolate before, but again I don't wanna eat all that chocolate.

I assume caps would work, but I don't have the means to make them and I bet i'd have to down 20 of them in a sitting.

If all else fails i'll just start tossing out the ABV.

^^^^yeah ive always disliked the edibles cause the taste can be horrid and the effects are so-so at best. I dont have any suggestions about what to do with the butter, but dont start throwing away the ABV! What im going to try is making some Qwiso and turning it to some concentrate, then use it as a bowl topping. Hopefully gets me :ko:

Thanks, that may be something I have to start considering now as well with the ABV, instead of edibles. I have great effects with the ABV, in fact recently had an experience that felt like my very first time after nearly a decade if you can believe that. The brownie tastes AWFUL, I didn't make butter, just throw 2 mason jars of abv in the mix. They were a bit gritty and tasted like chocolate ABV (which is the gross taste in the world to me), but holy shit....I was near greening out lol And I have the tolerance of a beast trust me! For the first time in I dunno how long, I said fuck, there is NO WAY I can drive! Usually I love driving a little buzzed (again huge tolerance).

I too am not a fan of edibles because of taste & so-so effects. I believe there is a thread about that discusses water curing abv to eliminate smell & taste.
I think it was by weedemon.

I was a fan of QWISO hash using my ABV, but I no longer like the taste of that either & the results were very hit & miss. Very dirty taste I have found. I was massive fan of qwiso when I found out about it, but not so much anymore.

I have about 6oz of ABV right now & am seriously considering throwing it away. Purely because I cant think of what I want to do with it & its a massive bust if LEO ever finds it.

Lost in Thought
I have had mixed results doing an ABV watercure (it still stunk to high heaven upon cooking) and taste can be an issue for me. I used to grind/add my ABV to the mix, but I like to seperate it cause it gives me bad gas. As far as taste - I cannot stress enough to get some Andes' Creme de Menthe chips (mint flavor) Mint seems to mask/compliment the taste enough to make them pleasurable. Give that a shot and see if it helps at all.

I find recipes with coffee included or added in do a good job of masking the taste. Coffee chocolate brownies!

Or...you can pinch your nose closed when you eat it :p

As well, I don't like the taste very much at all...I would almost say that I hate it.

However I also have a ton of ABV and that will most likely be my plan - to eat it, so I don't want to jinx myself by saying I hate it :ko:

I've grown to not hate the taste of ABV, but it's doubtful I'll ever love it either. I consume 100% of it though, no leftovers so less possibility of lost actives. If you do end up making something that you don't strain, grind the holy hell out of it. Really. I pack my 2pc. Spacecase full of grinded abv, and keep grinding and adding abv till I'm left with a crazy fine powder. Gets rid of that grit IME and makes it easy to use.

You can make canna-capsules. You would just swallow a few pills of canna-oil (the oil has to be made with coconut oil I think this way it stays solid at room temperature) and get super baked, thus by passing the taste. Make sure you use gelatin capsules

I suggest using olive oil instead of eggs, this makes the flavour different and I like it.

I make Firecrackers with cinnamon graham crackers and organic peanut butter from a market here called Trader Joes and I can hardly taste the ABV at all.

i like it on popcorn :) this is one of my fave ways! still tastes herby though. maybe add some mrs dash to it or whatnot to mask the herb taste?

or if you don't have butter, I love it in a hot chocolate (use real chocolate and 10%+ cream in it! :D)

I will be trying the milkshake with abv experiment sometime in the future but i bet the grittiness will put me off.

You should be able to mask the herb well in cookies. Some of the ones I have been able to pull off almost have no herb taste at all and glue you to the couch.
Ill get my recipe up in the next day or two. Cinnamon helps a lot.
I always strain out the abv with cheese cloth. Unwanted particles will cause indigestion and more flavor.

My only qualms with edibles are the extra calories.:p

The cinnamon graham crackers from TJ's sounds like a great idea! Trying that out tomorrow.

Whats that process like? Lots of extra work?

In a nutshell: Put your vaped weed in fresh water, and let it soak. Change the water 2/x a day (strain it through a kitchen filter so you don't lose the buds). 1x a day is probably fine but best to be safe. Do this for 5-7 days and it removes many of the contaminants from the vaped weed. This works because a lot of these contaminants are more hydrophillic than the actives in weed (THC/CBD/CBN), and thus are leached off while leaving most of the original potency of the buds (I won't say all, but it's a minimal loss for the improved quality).

Let us know how it works out.

Will do--going to an Armin Van Buuren concert that night! ;)

Great Idea to keep it water logged. I only think it would remove the contaminants after a small amount of time instead of 7 days?
Ill have to compare a non water flushed to straight in. I don't think I will get the same potency as washing will. Especially if you grind fine.

Get some Everclear, and pour enough to just cover your ABV. Then let it sit for an hour or a day in a sealed jar. We're not smoking it, so "impurities" don't matter, so much. Shake the shit out of it occasionally. Strain it, and evaporate the alcohol in a pyrex dish. Scrape it all up. Then go look up a capsule recipe. I recommend BadKitty's and you can skip the decarb process, since it's ABV.

Capsules are pretty much tasteless.

yes it's a lot of extra work but it's worth it. my baked goods made with pure ABV always tastes nothing like bud at all, all of those who have tasted my ABV baked goods claim they have never tasted weed food as good as what i make. and i'm really just an average baker, i'm just good at following instructions! the only reason they think that is because they never tasted weed food that taste nothing like weed at all. watercure is the reason.

when i have time, i'll share more about the process i use, honed over the past 3 years of vaping and baking ABV into brownies, cookies and cakes. i've experimented with many different methods in order to maximize extraction and minimize wastage, as well as almost entirely eliminating bud odor and taste.

I love this site! Learning so much new info. I cant wait to try some of these ideas.i have made cabnabutter from abv but I never really feel it. But unfortunatly good medicine is hard to get in fl so usually have to make it with low potency herbs anyway. :-( but maybe I can strengthin it with this water cure thing. Thanks!
