Anyone have any tips on applying the buzz butter to the PD? Each time I try to do it the butter seems a little too hard to get a good coating on the rag. I thought about heating it up in the microwave but it's in a metal tin. I tried setting the tin on top of the warm PD for a while but it didnt make it any softer. Any ideas?

Sure. I just run a knife over the top and scrape out a tiny bit and apply it to a warm PD with my fingers. Works great.

most solid way to go about

but you can also set the tin on top of your PD

Its going to go much faster if you rag it then shave it ive been on my original little tin for over 6 months and its still half full (weekly/biweekly soaks)

:D

Other than a picture of Tom sitting nude at his lathe turning PD bodies with Pammy close behind him with her hands on his (think of that scene in Ghost). Other than this, the package is totally discreet. :/

The packaging is as discreet as can be, just a white cardboard box wrapped in a heavy brown paper with the shipping label on it. You'll be fine with nosey kids unless they open it for you.

The boxed its shipped in a plain regular cardboard box, then box Tom packs the PD in is a plain white box which also makes a great case to take your PD around in. Even once out of the box the PD is beyond discrete especially with children. My niece and nephew have never questioned what it was, and they sure love to ask questions

The Buzz-Butter is similar to Peanut Butter or Ketchup (catsup), in some ways. Solid till it is moving, a clean finger-nail, or clean knife edge will scrape enough up to make the material soft. It changes under pressure. And it's pretty plain that a warm PD will accept wax and oil easier. Get it warm, get into it ! :2c:

Aight so I absolutely positively looooove my PD, but I do have but one grievance. It seems like as I am using it more and more (had it for about 10 months now) more and more herb keeps falling into the hole of the heat exchanger. I knew this always happened a little bit, but it is happening more and more now and if it happens whilst hitting a stem it makes for a very off putting taste/smell... and I imagine more than just vapor even tho this is small in comparison to really smoking. I'm at the point now where I just turn it upside down and bang it REALLY hard a couple of times before every stem to avoid this issue but it still happens every once in a while.

soooooooooo after all that my question is would I be able to put a stainless steel in the hole where the heat exchange is? I noticed that the aromazap comes with the screen so I imagine this is possible but I am not very handy so what exactly would I need and what size? (ie: what type of screen, where I could get it!)

Thanks all and thank you tom!

modnote: Merged.

If it's really bothering you that much why don't you just hold it on an angle? If you do for at least the first hit, the trichs melt, the herb sticks together and it's less likely crumbs will fall out. Depends on your herb to some degree and gravity is always in effect unless you're vaping in space.

I've always hit it on an angle, seems perfectly natural. Putting a screen in there seems 'janky' to me and would probably sap some of the heat from the hot air. Also, if you continue to disregard gravity, small pieces would still make it through the screen but then they'd be more difficult to remove.

If you really want one I don't imagine it would be that hard, just measure the inside diameter of the HE tube (mine looks to be about 7.5mm) and cut a stainless pipe screen to fit.

Edit: Wording.

Hi. The three pull tubes that came with my pd kit seem to have small "threads" on the inside. In other words, the interior of the tube looks like it has some palstic hairs on it. Curious if everyone's tubes look like that or if maybe mine were improperly hollowed out or something. I am concerned that I am breathing in those palstic hairs/threads. Thanks

take a small piece of steel wool, and a thin stick long enough to push it through, and pass it through the inside a couple of times. It is tiny bits of plastic left from putting the hole in the tube. Some steel wool should dislodge the loose bits so they are no longer in the air path.

The tubes are each sucked with a four horsepower shopvac after boring and shaping, then washed in hot soapy water, then vacuumed again. IE. we do our best to rid the tubes of anything that isn't nailed down permanent.

Tom, is there any chance for a MEGA PD? One that is 100% identical in every way to the PD but double in size? I just love the darn thing to death, but am always looking to kick it up a notch. And, yes, to anyone who is wondering, this idea did come from Dwight Schrute and last week's episode of The Office. :)

Hehehe, that was funny Tac. Good one, wish I could use it.

I'll get back to the geometry, and other marginally interesting stuff.

Later:
Ok, It's marginally interesting and involves math... There we lost most folks...

A cylinder (the bowl) can be expanded in two dimensions. Back later...

Any idea on when the Purple Days will be available to order again, despite the waiting list? I wanted to get my order in for one of these bad boys. I'm not really a good builder so despite that nice 2-3 week wait for the Pandora Kit, I don't want to take any chances.

Seeing your post I checked VapeNow. You can still order one if you are north america, the wait time is probably going to be around 15 or 16 weeks. Mine took about 16.5 weeks and I received mine earlier this month. You should get on the list!

No discounts on PD's. I believe their profit margin is slightly smaller then what they get from most other vape companies.
