One question, whats the fire hazard like with the PD? Like could I sit in down on the carpet/against the side of the bed while turned on?

I'm not going to walk away and leave it for 20 hours, but does it have any points that could possibly ignite material?

I know that Tom and Pammy hate to see people upset at not being able to get their PD's. That's just how they are, but strictly from a marketing perspective, the timing of this situation is perfect in the PD's growth cycle. The only downside is that it could raise the expectation level so high, that prospective buyers will begin to think that all they have to do is rub the warm wood three times, and they'll get everything they need :/ .

Hi chubba,it'sa good question. I have my ash unit sitting here with a piece of Scott single ply toilet tissue draped directly over the heat exchanger hole. NO odor, no discoloration. The 'hot' parts are recessed, you don't accidently touch them and get a surprise. Hot enough to cause a reflex, but not really burn you hard, unless you are into that sort of thing and hold on. After 10 minutes of no of no action I wadded the TP up and stuffed it in the top 1" hole. Still no action. Similar results with the hole stuffed with foam for an overnight test. Since getting anything into the throat of the HE and past the crossbar is almost impossible with more than a mere crumb, there is not much happening.

For those that missed out on the first batch, that's just the way life is. :/ We can't make more than we can make. It's just us two. And with a week of production selling in 7 minutes, well, if you can't see the problem, what the heck, be mad. We don't want you mad, but... that has to show you what we were up against.

We have always asked for suggestions, many good ones have been offered and implemented. But saying, I think it should be so... with no concrete experience or constructive solution . . .

Finished cutting blocks from slabs for 100 bodies today. Got 32 heat exchangers done yesterday along with some other metalwork while it was drizzling. I guess most can see the economy of effort scenario. One shipping day, others devoted to maximum production, then have dinner and enjoy the evening. We watched some vids last night, that a fellow sent me months ago. What a nice evening.

Maybe, but sarcasm is hard to 'feel' in typed words. Just clarifying that this is not a profit motivated move as some have repeatedly suggested.

Dang. I made the mistake of going miniature golfing instead of sitting on my ass for another hour refreshing the page. I took my Iolite with me and managed to shoot 8 under par while under the influence.

I'm sad I missed the PD rush but grateful I still at least have my trusty portable to hold me over til I can get my hands on a PD. My big mistake was not ordering one earlier on before all this chaos when they were $30 cheaper, to boot. I foolishly thought I should read through the threads on this board before making an informed decision, and that took me quite a while. I got a good feeling about the PD early on, but held off, researching other options.

Maybe they should add a parenthetical to this thread's subject line that says something like "TRUST US, JUST FUCKING BUY ONE." Oh well, live and learn. I just hope I haven't seriously missed my only chance ever to buy a regular-priced PD.

That's a great thing about signing (handshake) one distributor, you trust. One price for everybody. Me/Us and him = no funny stuff ! His price is always gonna be staight up. I don't do it ny other way.

I gave my PD to my brother a number of weeks ago so I've been in the same boat as everyone else, waiting on a PD. I haven?t been button mashing, been there and done that with other things that I ?had to have?. I know that it can be frustrating, but why get worked up when it?ll yield you zero PD action. It certainly doesn?t mean that anyone will compensate you for your time spent hitting the refresh button. I think a calmer, more thought-out approach might yield better results in the future.

I?m sure a number of people have been in touch with VapeNow to inquire about when they will possibly be updating their site to reflect an ?in stock?, perhaps communicating with each other privately and exchanging information would be more productive than button mashing and angry posts. Vapenow has been super friendly, letting folks know when they believe that they?ll be receiving stock, even giving approximate time of day when the site will be updated. There goes the need to furiously button mash.

I wouldn't mind not seeing any more special requests posts, complaints about availability, and all of that. I'm in favor of bringing it back to a chill stoney vibe here.

Now I'm beginning to wonder if the expectation level has been set too high. The PD is a great vape and all, but it's not for everyone and as a matter of fact, some may prefer a different vape altogether. I just hope that those that have been waiting have done so with a LOT of research under their belts, not only regarding the PD, but other vapes as well, for I can see that those that are prone to whining and complaining a lot will come back in here after they get their vapes and scream, "Damn, is THIS what I waited for for sooooooo long."

Again, for those that are reading this long ass thread, the PD is a great vape, but it's not for everyone. If you like free flowing large rich vapor hits, this vape is not for you. If you want a party vape, this vape is not for you. If conserving your weed IS important to you, than there is no better choice than the PD. Just make sure that before you decide to go thru some of the hassles to get one, that it fits what you are looking for.

Hi all, I've been lurking since about a week ago. I figured I would shut up and learn until I had a PD to write about. Well imagine my ridicuous luck when I hit refresh and the PDs were for sale yesterday. I hadn't been waiting around the site all day. I refreshed maybe 3 times yesterday before they went on sale. I then proceeded to look for my wallet, register with VapeNow and casually entered my order. It processed successfully and almost instantly.

I was that fool who had no idea how ridiculously lucky he got. It wasn't until I checked this board later in the day that i discovered that they sold out in 7 minutes. It didn't even occur to me to place multiple orders. If the PD works like I anticpate, I expect to by more for loved ones. But fair is fair and I think our internal moral compass should be our guide in regard to how many PDs one purchases at a time.

Great point. I ordered the PD because of the solid evidence of its efficiency and customer service. I already have another vape that gets me plenty high. You can also go to the corner store and buy papers, or smoke from an apple if you need to - the results are remarkably similar.

Although I am greatly looking forward to trying out my new PD (and hopefully using my herb much more efficiently), in the mean time there are many alternate methods to tide us over. Better the be out of PD than out of Buddha.....

Davidius, I think your points have some valid logic in the marketplace, only not here. I don't think you have read this whole thread, otherwise you would know Tom is doing this out of love and enjoyment, not making a buck or running a Fortune 500 company. He honestly doesn't give a shit whether you ever get a PD or not and doesn't sell to people he wouldn't want to have over for dinner.

The 'elders', as you put it, are upset because just a few weeks ago this was a laid back, fun and informative place to pack a bowl...and we've worked hard for over a year to develop and keep it that way. Yo Davidius - I am all about the cynical humor, but your post was straight up disrespectful. Like I said earlier, there are lots of ways to get high. The PD way might be a little more efficient and healthy, but two weeks here or there is not likely to kill or save any of us.

Had I not gotten lucky on this production cycle, I would wait 'till next week; NO BIG THING. I would not be crying like a little bitch and dissing the manufacturer, that's for sure.


If I were you, I would keep vaping with my current vape (If you dont have a vape - u can make one with a light bulb - google it) and keep waiting for a PD - karma dude...

Is this still the place to ask legit questions about the PD?

mine is in transit - I am saving some of my best OG Kush and assorted kief for its arrival. I have heard mixed things about how best to pack the PD bowl, and I am sure I will learn on my own - but what is the consensus of how fine to grind your bud? how much kief is too much? i dont want to clog her up. is 1/2 and 1/2 too much?

I grind it to almost kief

IME you have to put a "plug" at the bottom of the pd stem ( the first stuff you put in ) or else keif just sucks through, i also grind my bud a tad shy of powder. I packed my first pd stems way too tight at the beginning and doing so really reduces airflow and increases lung strain.

I normally just use the straw method to suck up about half a bowl of ground herb, then i use that same method for as much keif as i want, and then i put another layer of herb on top, making a keif sandwich. Has been working great for me.
