I've owned and used the MFLB for a while now, used the Genie and Iolite before that, while the only home vaporizer I've used is the vaporbros. I'm looking into purchasing a home vaporizer for myself and this is the list I've worked out from the forums so far:

PD
SSV
ExtremeQ
HA

I'm mostly concerned with whip usage, not too excited about the bags, but could anyone experienced compare and contrast these as far as price, quality and usage go?

Edit: It will get used in small groups often.

Rather then categorize those all as 'home vapes', lets break it down a bit more.

The PD is a super efficient 'log' style vape, a direct draw.

The SSV is a whip, and is one of the BEST whip type vaporizers on the market, right along side the DBV.

THE eq is a bag/whip combo.

the HA does bags but I heard that it can do whips but im not sure, anyway its a bag vape.

all very different, meant to do different things.

If you want just a whip, get the SSV.

Please keep in mind that the PD is not meant to be a heavy hitter vape exactly like the others mentioned are.

The PD holds less doesn't it? Something like 4 or 5 hits? Everyone seems to be incredibly pleased with it, and I see you have one as well as the DBV, so I guess you would say there is a place for both in every persons vaporizer collection? If you were with a few friends or by yourself which would you chose among those two for catching a buzz?

The DBV is going to be more impressive than the PD for those used to smoking-bigger hits. It takes longer to get to 'stoned point A, B, whatever' with the PD or other log vape, because of the much smaller bowl.

not too excited about the bags
Then I'd forget the HA and Extreme. They're a compromise to some extent, with direct draw. I've used all the models you list, and favor the SSV and PD both. You may find there's room for both in your home as well, eventually. The DBV is preferred over the SSV by some, because of the lower price and hands free use (one hand free, technically), but I prefer the SSV due to having more control over the hits, with the standard connection. Hands free is a preference for a lot of people, but not me.

It holds a lot less, in the range of .02g to about .07g, but depending on the herb, and how fine it's ground, I've gotten twice that many hits from a bowl at times. You don't get hits like you can get from a full sized whip vape, but they can be satisfying, and you'll tend to use less than with bigger vapes.

I own an EQ and absolutely love it. With the EQ you can leave the bowl attatched and not worry about waisting anything. I sometimes will smoke a bowl over the course of an hr. My friend has an SSV and i was not a big fan of having to hold up the wand and rotate it. I also prefered how my EQ has a digital readout so it is much easier to get the temp exactly where i want it. Both are great vapes, but i went with the EQ for many reasons.

my :2c:

-- get the PD if you will mostly be vaping by yourself and efficiency is king to you.

-- get the SSV if you want big hits and a vape that your guests will love. Before I got my Cloud beta, my friends who came over wanted to hit the SSV more than my other vapes.

-- get the Extreme if you want whip and bag usage. Bags are great for parties and groups. The whip hits on the E are a little less potent than those on the SSV, but you will still enjoy the E just fine...it was my first vape and main driver for over a year.

I have used all three of these vapes as my main driver at one point or another, and you will not go wrong with any of them.

So with the ssv, I have to hold the whip in my mouth and on the unit? While dbv, and the rest are hands free?

Even with my DBV, I usually just hold it up to the unit anyway when I hit it, its only for a moment anyway. just IME

yep, you gotta hold all of them to your mouth really though. but the DBV has a ground glass connection on a 90 degree angle(assuming upward is 0 degrees). on the SSV the angle is more like 115 degrees so that the outtake points down. on the SSV you have 3 choices for the connection type. standard (which is hand held and the favourite around here as you get more control) GG, ground glass ("hands free") and SGG, spherical ground glass (the newest and not hands free, but forms a better seal between the whip and the cover)

on a side note you can vape hash and oils in your ssv becasue of that downward angled port. it works a treat! :ko:

of your vapes listed i'd go for the SSV, if you want big thick and tasty rips and don't care about how much weed you go though. i use 0.4-.08 g per session in my ssv personally. there is a mod for the SSV where you just buy a pack of the EQ screens and it fits right inside the whip and then you cut the volume down to about 20% a standard bowl. (if you do this remember to dial the temp way down from normal!)

or the PD if you want to make your weed last and don't care about monster rips. using the PD the tokes are still damn tasty and for the amount of weed you use for it is ridiculously small. i find i need 5 stems to get me baked though. so personally i prefer to use this one after i'm already there.

Everyone seems to love their PD, and just about everyone seems to have at least one, so is it safe to assume the PDs are a must have for any vapor enthusiast? I realize they're smaller bowls than the whip vap's, but how do they compare to the mflb? The PD hits much nicer I hope? When I first created this thread, I was torn between purchasing the PD or EQ, after reading everyone's responses I'm leaning more towards the PD for now and saving up a little more for the SSV, so I can customize it haha.

 Not EVERYONE has a PD

Among that type of vape, the PD is on top. But plenty of people have other vapes of the same style that are not bad, the MZ and WDZ.

Its not in my sig but I have a Zap as well. I m going to see if I can add that now...

There are people that are happy with all of these vapes, so know that you'll probably be happy with any of the 4. All the vapes are durable, and well constructed.

Things to note about each:

PD
-very easy to use
-not the best extraction
-great efficiency

SSV
-amazingly awesome hits
-full control so you can get all the goodies

I have not tried the ExtremeQ or the HA, but I know the HA is noted for it's great extraction. With the SSV you have to stir the bowl. With the HA it'll extract evenly without stirring which is awesome.

If it'll be used in groups regularly, I'd say go with the SSV, Extreme, or HA.

Thank you for all the responses! I've ordered myself a PD and will save a little for the SSV down the road, so I can get those thick vapor hits. Now the wait begins :/ !

Edit: :) True

Great choice! Those two units will take care of just about anything you need.
