I saw this only once, in one of the first Splinters ever when I was doing beta testing. I adjusted the screw and it never happened again. Turning that screw definitely changes the resistance. I'd suggest using Locktite or similar.

It's quite odd that it's happening repeatedly and with two different devices. This is not a common problem with Splinters, in fact I can only recall one or two mentions of anything like it.
It's likely the pin on the mod, not the splinter if this is happening with multiple splinter units. Test with a different mod.

Is it normal for the Splinter V2 to rattle? I just received a Splinter V2 and I can hear something moving around inside if it move the Splinter. It has scuff marks on the wood too. It seems to be working well though. I received a Splinter Z V2 also and that doesn't rattle at all.

Yes that is normal, some rattle a bit some don't at all, if it is working fine you're fine

Does the Wismec Sinuous Ravage support myevic, Arctic Fox, or Tubo myevic?

The lists only show the Sinuous P80 and Predator but I wanted to check because one of the vape sites has them for $20 and I have more Splinters than mods currently.

Not sure of Tubo, but I would presume yes to the others... @Summer? @little maggie?

I only know the Ravage supports the Red Panda - the version of Arctic Fox for color screens.
Oh right, I learned that from a post of yours way back when but forgot, thanks. Good Splinter mod in your opinion?

I like the way it feels in my hand: the size & the grip of it. Superior to the P80 IMO which I'm not fond of. That said, I'm still only using it in wattage with stock firmware. One day this year I'll upgrade the firmware. And one day I'll buy the Gen3 Dual for comparison.

My rattling Splinter stopped working after a few sessions. It is getting the 'no atomizer found' error on multiple mods. I tried adjusting the pin but that isn't helping. I reached out to RBT on Sunday but no response yet.

Traveling with splinter...
Do you guys have a case that you use to take your splinter out to a mate’s place? They so beautiful and they don’t seem like a thing you can just chuck in a bag and go without risking damage.

Could fit in an ego clamshell depending on the mod... I'm sure there are better options though

Here’s a Splinter related question - How long do baskets last before they’re ready for the trash? Do they ever break?

Here’s a Splinter related question - How long do baskets last before they’re ready for the trash? Do they ever break?

The first vapourizer I ever owned was the Arizer Extreme, which uses the same baskets that RBT products are using today. (Ryan was horrified when I put one into the first Zion; how times have changed!) I have never had any basket of any type break, and I think I still have some of the originals. I might have given some away or lost them, but I've never thrown away or broken one. Mostly I have cleaned them with an ISO soak, but plenty of times I've simply used a torch to burn them clean. Baskets are the last thing you need to worry about with the Splinter, or any device for that matter.

Agreed, they don't seem to ever go bad, though my experience is just under a year now.
I briefly soak in tiny amount of iso, remove it, then dangle it over the stovetop and burn the remaining alcohol off using the metal poker stick or some tweezers as a 'holder'.
Obviously, caution applies here.

My V2 just came in yesterday. It’s covered in dried glue/epoxy. There’s even a dried fingerprint on it! Has anyone else ever ran into this? I heard reaching out to RBT is a PITA, so thinking of just sanding and finishing it myself

Baskets dont need to be replaced unless physically damaged or you somehow burned it black, dont see any other reasons to replace it if you have been using it properly and cleaning it regularly

I have had good luck with RBT regarding warranty claims, but it took some persistence. I will say that it was before Ryan hit the road. And before @RBTcole got really busy with school, so ymmv. I also found that contacting them via Instagram DM worked better than email. I would give it a shot before deciding you need to repair it yourself. I’d also say that it clearly needs to be replaced rather than repaired. I’d at least try to contact them.

Edit: plus, not contacting them doesn’t give them any incentive to try to do better.
