First post. Been combusting for decades. Bought my first vape about a month ago (S&B Plenty) love it. Don't even want to smoke anymore, but now I need something I can take hiking and camping. I started reading this thread a few days ago, ordered an ArGo by the time I was about 2/3 of the way through. Little guy seems to be just what I need to say goodbye to smoking permanently. Should be here Tuesday. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone in this thread for helping me make a tough decision. Extra thanks to @cannabis.pro - ordered that sweet bundle deal from 420EDC, super excited to get it!

First post.

First off, welcome to the Forum! Lot of great folks around with good advice to offer as you've discovered.

Congratulations on your decision, a great vape for sure that's earned it's following. Bang up first post, IMO your sure to find continued success. Soon I expect you to be contributing your advice/experiences as well.

Since you intend to use it 'off grid' you might consider a backup as insurance against loss or other mishap? Mission critical gear should have a backup you know? Something low cost, dependable, and fun to use in it's own right. Say a VG (Vapor Genie) and the lighter you're probably packing? Some really like Dyna Vape, a similar product. Both around $50 with solid history and dedicated fans.

Best wishes. IMO you're on the right path. More enjoyment, better taste, save lots on herb (average use drops to maybe 1/4?), you smell better, no more 'red eye', and you get longer to live and enjoy it all. Not a hard call to make.

I'm not crazy about the torch powered vapes for some reason. I've never used one though, so that could change. I didn't realize they were so cheap, may have to look into those before camping season starts in the spring.

Thanks, and yes i quit smoking for all of those reasons, although conserving material is no longer a huge concern. I live in a medical state and started growing my own about a year ago. For the first time in my life i have all the herb i need and won't be arrested for having it. Wonderful time to be alive!

Welcome to the forum, I'm also a new Argo owner. I've been hitting on this morning, finding my groove. It's a very versatile unit, and I personally love the longer stems (available on puffitup), used with the inverted dome screens. When I can balance that heat transfer just right, I get some sweet, potent, tasty hits, that seem to go on for quite a while. Good luck with your awesome unit.

longer stems

Already ahead of the curve on that one, my friend! ArGo has not made it into my hands yet and I've already got an extended stem, a curved 3D flow stem and WPA on their way as well. I'm out on the porch hitting my Plenty this morning since it's not allowed inside. Hoping the ArGo is a little more wife friendly in terms of how much it reeks up the immediate area when you use it.

Edit: unrelated, but most of the time nothing happens when I hit the like button on this forum. Anyway, I tried and failed to like your post @Bravesst

Understandable, and quite common, but IMO unfounded. The torch puts out water vapor, CO2 and heat. Nothing evil or toxic. You don't fear a gas stove do you? Same deal. Vapes need heat to work. Batteries have reliability and capacity issues. Lots of potential failure points. Using gas for power avoids that, a tiny amount of gas has plenty of energy for us.

VapMan avoids some concerns as you heat the metal 'pan' with your torch, shut it down, and then hit it. I really enjoy mine but they're out of production as the maker is moving and getting hard to find (he's Swiss and no longer sells to individuals). Iolite uses the heat only to maintain temperature. It hisses in use but exhausts to the outside air rather than through the load. Likewise DV is hit after heating so there are options if you fear breathing in the same stuff you do every morning making breakfast?

OF,
@OF - Nothing at all to do with a concern over the fuel in the torch. It's more of a perception thing, I guess. To an outside observer you look like a crackhead hitting a pipe with a torch (my opinion only, not trying to knock anyone who uses those vapes). I would just prefer to not draw that kind of attention even though it's legal for me to consume cannabis any way I see fit here. I like to keep a low profile and I feel like whipping out a butane torch isn't the right way to go about that. Again, if I tried one it's entirely possible I'd change my mind about all of this. Just a mental hurdle I can't get over at the moment.

Change a law here, change a law there, and all of a sudden you're not a criminal anymore. It's pretty dang cool isn't it? I live in a fully legal state and it's amazing to know that we can pretty much get whatever we want whenever we want it. And the quality is great and the amount of choices available is dizzying in a good way.

It is indeed a good time to be alive.

Then how about Iolite? No exposed flame, looks more like a cell phone than anything else? Or VG, which looks like a traditional pipe (especially the 'hand carved' model) you relight from time to time. Like a traditional pipe smoker does? Most anything else involved battery limitations.

A good sort of decision to face.

I'm not familiar with any of the models you mentioned, but I'll take a look at them when I get a minute. Thanks for the info!

Has anyone found a dosing capsule or concentrate container that may work with the argo? I want to use concentrates but don't want to make a mess

I had to modify the Fury chamber screens to fit in the Argo stems so I'm guessing the dosing capsules would be way too big. I've tried using a Dynacoil and making it fit by slightly unravelling it, however the Argo just doesn't have enough oomph to be satisfying. The Dynacoil in a Dynavap is potent, so is a dedicated wax-pen/atomizer like the HVT Saionara.

No need to guess. As I think I just sad the body (ONLY) of the OG capsules will fit if you push a bit. No way on the cap. The new model (from Edge), which fits F2 fine, is a cylinder and therefore too large in total.

What's the consensus on this or a solo 2? Arizer has BOGO going on so I could order either and get a free air. I had a solo, loved it. Had the air and loved it too till it messed up after a couple months.

Then I think you should go with Solo (and free Air) as ArGo and Air are quite similar is size and use.

Unless you're an *Air Addict* like me, who finds the Air2 so cool that I hadda have two. I have to say, the Argo is very close, and many say, a cut above Air. You can't help but love it.

Argo gets better every day. I love the long black and clear stems, I've hacked a dome screen to fit. Love the beeps, love the screen, love the buttons, love that I can set it on 15 minutes, love that I can turn it on it 2 seconds. I am still experimenting with loading, tamping, and temp surfing.

Let me give you a live report:
  • Just loaded a nice medium grind / tamp level 6 (1-10) / unit set at 15 minutes and 195C
  • The first 4 or 5 hits (sips) are thick, I slowly, purposefully pull only as much as I can handle without irritation on each hit. I could probably stop here and be good, but I'm a pot head.
  • Draw feels wide open for the speed I need to draw at, kinda slow.
  • We're five minutes in, going slow, and I just bumped to 200 and wait like 30 seconds
  • I'm rewarded with more, slightly toastier hits (sips) follow - at least 6 or 7
  • By now, getting a really good buzz, feeling it creep in, saturate my system, it's as if Arizer vapes can *saturate* me like nothing else, albeit slower than on-demand, and I feel this comes from a more thorough access to the full spectrum of cannibinoids with the right approach
  • As I'm writing the 15 minute timer went off before I had a chance to cycle through all temps. I turned the unit back on and maxed out temp, got another 10 pulls. I can't seem to kill this bowl, and the battery level barely budged.
Very impressive performance. I think the longer, narrower Argo stem and oven just cook a little differently than Air 2 or Solo 2, and I like it. Seems to fit just right... Thanks @OF and all who recommended this *cool* little unit.

Notice no mention of clouds. Clouds were there, but I wasn't really paying attention. Vapor thickness, fullness, smoothness, and effect on me, were top notch. I think I was able to access every drop of goodness that little .1 gram had to offer, in this, or any other vape. Nice job.
Just opened mine today. Getting about 5 good rips per bowl gradually stepping up until 428 degrees Fahrenheit from 385 Fahrenheit. Thinking I should start at a lower temp. Any thoughts?
I am new here and owned Pax 1, Firefly, 3 vapmans, vapman station, and just got the Argo. Never really used firefly. Battery was so bad even after I bought one of the newer ones.
Anyone tried to Zeus Arc GT or Zeus Arc ? Thinking about one next.

Anyone worried about smell should try the Formline wallet case. Holds Argo, extra battery, and stems with ease, padding, and no smell. I usually use their cases for all my needs.
Any tips on achieving bigger clouds from the Argo ? Should I pack it fuller ? Going about halfway to 3/4 with a light tamp currently. Also, when I am done I find material inside the device that has fallen from tube. I am scared to pack it too tight and I am running out of material to keep experimenting with

I find that using a screen helps keep the 4 small holes in the glass chamber from clogging. The difference in draw restriction and cloud size is tremendous. I like using a make shift dome screen which seems to work even better. :)

Thank you. So would you say the clouds are larger with a screen ? Is the dome you make pointing towards the oven or the 4 holes ?

The clouds are definitely larger. I like the open side of the dome facing the oven.

it absolutely looks like crack and it is loud. I bet you would love a sticky brick once dialed in though
