I still call bullshit. And I am sure there are others as well. We just don’t like misinformation.
Hopper Labs has seriously fucked up but your claims have nothing to back them up. Prove me wrong and I will gladly shut my mouth and apologize for being wrong.
I'm not spreading misinformation.

You're literally just labeling anything that you don't already agree with to be misinformation.

In addition to the reddit post I have already sourced above, there are plenty more user experiences on reddit reported from the last 3 years that I have personally read that echo the experience I linked you to.

Oh you don't like reddit?

That's fine. There's a user on FC who has posted about it to. Is he a liar too?

"Yesterday a Hopper Labs battery exploded in my top dresser drawer. I don't know if it was a b1 or a b2. Almost all my batteries are several years old.
I was in a bit of a hurry, recollecting exact detail has been difficult. I do know that I had just taken the fully charged batt off the Nitecore D2 and put it into a silicone sleeve button end first (my habit, I know if they're charged or depleted according to how I've inserted them). The flat end then remains exposed in the caddy I used. I dropped the caddy into an open-top box where some accessories and stuff are 'organized' in the drawer, closed the drawer almost all the way (about an inch open) and walked toward the door. There were no other batteries in the organizer box.

Heard a loud 'pop!' (less than a firecracker, more muffled) and turned to see huge plumes of smoke coming out of the drawer, accompanied for a few seconds by a hissing sound and soon a real bad plastic-type smell. Opened the drawer and a small cardboard package containing a glass stem from another vape was on fire, though it went out soon on its' own. The glass stem inside was shattered. There was a hole melted through the silicone battery caddy and a lot of barely recognizable battery parts all over the place. Soot all over everything. I have more smoke/soot remediation to do today.

Needless to say, I was fucking freaked out. Another 10 or 20 seconds and I'd have not been in the room, might have had a much more serious situation."

But according to you and multiple posters in this thread everyone who is talking about problems with the batteries is a fakenews liar right????

Give me a break :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Again, ranting about shit that does not back up your claim. What part of tossed in a dresser drawer means it was in the vape?

I have already sourced a story about the battery exploding inside the vape...

I provided the FC post because apparently you say you cannot trust people on Reddit.

Well, here we have someone on FC substantiating that the batteries do in fact have many issues, not limited to which includes exploding and melting both INSIDE and OUTSIDE the vape.

It is beyond incomprehensible to me that we have years worth of reports and yet people on here are still convinced everyone is a dirty liar.

The battery did not explode in that link you posted.

Keep on with changing the facts to suit your argument.

You’re hilarious.

It is not my fault you are incapable of reading.

Perhaps the fumes from the melted grasshopper batteries has affected your cognitive abilities....

Makes you wonder doesn't it?:lol::rolleyes:

I'm sure we can all agree some nice melted battery fumes enhances the high am I right? ;);)
You obviously have no comprehension of what a li ion battery does when it vents inside a tube like the Hopper.

I am not saying the Hopper has never gotten so hot it has melted the battery cover, it has. That is still not the fault of the battery itself.

Look man I'd love to delve into the specifics of the battery melting or not melting with you....but I'm not going to continue dragging this thread down arguing the semantics about this shit so I'll appease you and agree.

However, my larger points regarding the device (whether or not the batteries are exploding and are the cause or not, the grasshopper is inarguably a very faulty device) and the company as a whole still stand.

There should still be some reservations available. The number is limited currently because of the 10% discount those who order now will receive.

Edit.
Looks like they are low. I will add 100 more due to the quick sell out. We want to have them available to reserve through Monday but might not happen.

Like I said before man, most of what you said is very true and I would be a fool to argue that the Hopper is not a problematic pain in the ass most of the time. Even my newest dark grey model needs a new back end already. It works but not on all of the temp settings.

This might be the most anti-consumer post I have ever seen in my life. Do you work for hopper labs? Do you have an investment in them? Because I cannot fathom otherwise why anyone who is even slightly rational would defend a company with this much shady shit going around them.

A) It is completely ridiculous of you to automatically assume that everyone having problems with the vape and company are being impolite and rude in their communication. You have 0 evidence to assume this. Are some people probably dicks? Yeah, no shit. That's life. But I highly doubt that every single person contacting Hopper labs for their warranties is a dick for no reason.

B) "if it was me I would also deprioritize their ass and put them at the back of line". Good thing you're not running a business then because that's one the least ethical and most anti-business practices I've ever heard. "Hey guys we have a bunch of people who gave us a bunch of money for a vape that we released with a bunch of defects, how dare they ask for us to honor their warranty. Time to put them in the back of the line!". Yeah what a great business strategy dude. I'm sure you'd have tons and tons of loyal customers with that kind of amazing treatment.

C)"They always answered me right away but maybe they liked me better because I never actually sent anything in for warranty I just kept buying more units"

OH OKAY. So yeah a company liked you better than other users because you have more money than common sense and instead of getting your money's worth on your original purchase you decided to just continue burning money and buying more shit from a company that can't produce a reliable product. Other customers aren't being dicks, you're just being a shill. "HEY GUYS I HANDED A COMPANY A BUNCH OF FREE MONEY I THINK THEY LOVE ME". Wow never would have guessed.

D) Why would people go on reddit and lie about their vape exploding? The fuck kind of logic is that? People buy vapes because they want to use them, over and over and over again. Nobody is rooting for a device they spent hundreds of dollars on to explode.

But yeah according to your everyone that has an issue is either:
A) A dick
B) Lying

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I disbelieve faulty oem ghb2 based on reports from Anonymous Reddit users. The people in here, not me yes you're right I guess I could be a shill, have said f*** all about battery Fires for the multiple years that I've been lurking in this forum so I guess i need to agree to disagree with you about which one of us is a shill with ulterior motives

Larger sample size doesn't mean Jack if the sample you're taking is excrement

Don't get me wrong I love Reddit for somehow getting girls to go along with the Gone Wild concept. But I wouldn't go there to get vaporizer advice anymore than I would have come here to .... look at pictures of girls.

Feel free to discuss what constitutes a melting/exploding battery via PM if you like, but your commitment to not dragging this thread down further is appreciated.

To everyone: Keep it civil in here. We can disagree without being disagreeable if we just try.

Thank you.

I bought two from them this year and they had been stored for too long obviously and didn't even hold enough juice for one bowl. They credited them without any comment.

Thank you for this warning. I have two that were being shipped from I'm not even kidding Kuala Lumpur that haven't arrived yet I'm still hoping don't have the China mark on them lmao

Could you please give us any clue so we can understand how this new Grasshopper is at least a bit different from the original? Thanks in advance.

Wow, I get stuck in holiday traffic getting home and I missed a lot of stuff! Potentially exploding batteries, a thread brawl but I think things have calmed down (thanks, @Stu ), another marketing ploy, er plea, by HL. Thank heavens I was able to use my Hopper on the long ride home - damn it works so well after RMA!! Almost as well as putting premium gas in for a change for the ride home (left lane only :) )

I don’t doubt there have been a few issues with severe unit malfunctions and burning over the years. I think many are a few years old but I don’t recall the dates. Were any recent? I thought things were copacetic in that department until... the recent HL fire in which batteries were implicated (not confirmed). Sigh. Just another chapter in the tragicomedy that is HL. Am I concerned? A bit since I don’t think HL has done enough on this front including still using the same manufacturer. Too tired to complete the thought but power supply is still a question mark in my book and also with the new version...:peace:
