best smell proof container on budget besides ball mason jars?

what is the best smell proof container on budget besides ball mason jars? I currently use a dark colored ball jars and they work good but I wanted to know if there is something better? my main concern is smell, I usually have no problem with smell in the past using ball mason jars but today I brought some pretty dank product and the smell is seeping through somehow! smells soooo gooood, lol! its a good problem to have I guess. looking for something that will seal the smell better than ball mason jars. looking for sizes for half ounce and full ounce. thanks!

CVaults have worked well for me and they come in several sizes, more than large enough for what you want. They also have built-in holders for humidity regulating Boveda packs if you want to use them.

I 100 percent agree.
I put my mason jars in a 5 gallon bucket and snap it closed. home depot sells a replacement screw top lid for 5 gallon bucket for even better containment.
Mason jars will never be smellproof on their own

If a mason jar isn't smell proof on its own then neither is the cvault. They both use non porous materials and I believe it's the same seal material on the lids of each.
Besides, how smell proof are we talking? Like trick the drug dogs smell proof?

Ive never experienced a smelly mason jar that was cleaned and sealed properly, a few that were dirty AF and had junk in the seal, but never a maintained jar.

My experiences with Tightvac have been good for what they are, never once have any of them failed on their own, Ive broken a few out at festivals as they are NOT DURABLE IN THE SLIGHTEST, for example I've had a few of their small fit in your fist size and none lasted a full day in my pockets at a festival (and I'm far from rough on my stuff) they are meant to sit in a cabinet or pantry but as long as you don't get them dirty, I don't think any smell can escape the vacuum.

you guys are gonna laugh, but I think my ball mason jar was doing its job. the reason why I thought it wasn't working was because for a few seconds my product was in my pocket and I got in my car to put my stuff in the jar, in those few seconds that smell just covered my car, and even though I put my product in the mason jar, I still smelt it very strong when I went to my car hours later. but when I smelled my jar I smelt nothing. when I got home my jar did not smell. but I think I would still like to invest in something a little nicer. I would like to hear some more suggestions.

Yeah, I wasn’t saying that manson jars are bad, I use them too. Larger CVaults for bulk storage and small CVaults or mason jars for stuff you’ll be opening often seems like a good solution to me, but I’m sure there are other good options too. :)

I used bail lid jars like these....they come in all sizes. Put a Boveda in with your herb and its good to go, IMO.

mason jars are convenient but not airtight. put a few full of herb in a sealed 5 gallon plastic bucket and walk away a few minutes. when you pop that top you will smell the herb.
I also noticed it in the refrigerator. Buds dry in there even in a mason jar. At least mine did.

I got this lid. Works great but gasket wore out after a few years. I keep all my mason jars in there.

Mason jars are absolutely air tight if they are sealed correctly. They must be vacuum sealed and never use old snap lids. I have dozens of vacuum sealed mason jars in my cupboard and you cannot smell anything when it's opened. Mason jars have been used to put up and preserve (can) food for a long long time. You never smell the contents of a vacuum sealed jar.

For bud, you can go about it two ways, or both if you like. Get a FoodSaver mason jar sealer which will suck the oxygen out of the jar creating a vacuum or/and you can add an Oxygen Pack to the jar, put the snap lid on and screw the ring on tight. The Oxy Pack will absorb the ambient oxygen over several hours, which will suck the snap lid tight and create an airtight seal.

I store my dozen or so jars in a large food storage container like Rubbermaid the double layer seems to hold in the smell and if you toss in a couple of boveda packs and a hygrometer you can stabilize the humidity.
