I got a V2 too and I think it's found a home on the rxg3d. I'd swear it's hitting as smooth and even as a dna at TC 185 36W and .25ohms from 350 to 390°. The goldilocks size and ergos of this pair are nice too.

If the performance is anything to do with that ceramic part it bodes well for anyone getting on the V1+ sale. That would include me but I got a backup V1 last week before they sold out just to switch mods less.

Ryan does a burnoff prior to sending out units, but if you feel more secure doing one, here's how:

"Instructions on how to burn-in your Splinter
Place the unit on a mod box capable of producing 70 watts
Place a clean mouthpiece with no screen or product in the splinter
gently blow into the mouthpiece as your fire the mod at 70 watts for 10 - 15 seconds
Continue to blow into the unit for another 10-15 seconds to cool the heater and clear any volatilizes from the heater chamber
You will detect some odor and/or see some smoke / vapor as any contaminants burn off
Repeat the process 2-3 times with one at least 3 minutes between successive firings
Allow the unit to cool and resume use - Please allow 4 - 5 sessions for any odor or taste to mitigate"

I just got my v1 and bummed that I didn't consider this sooner. This is my first on demand portable. Can't get temp mode dialed in but settled in at 33.5 in VW and I'm loving it. Have a Z on the way so curious to see how it compares.

I've been trying to find user guides on how to better use the Reuleaux DNA250 but just can't seem to find much. Does something like this exist? If so, could someone kindly point me in the right direction?

Happy 420 everyone. Have a safe Easter weekend.

first impressions: a lot smaller than I thought! Definitely not the most descrete, but I won't have to hold it near my belly button like I've seen in some pics with Zs, LOL!

I need to crank it all the way up to like 45w, but it hits great there. Hopefully I can turn it down some and work on my technique and get even bigger clouds.

I'm excited though... seems like an improvement on the Mi, for sure.

I pretty much only use mine at 50w. Glad to hear it's better than the Mi, I'm having a hard time resisting one of those (but logic is telling me I dont need one!)

@bossman have you put that v2 on a non dna? curious re: hotspotting...
I haven't even tried the V2 on a DNA yet because it's nicely dialed in on the rxg3d with no hot spots. I do have a habit of looking at the basket after each hit and giving things a swirl with my fingertip or a a little stir as needed. I feel like it's only fair given the ten to fifteen second hits I mostly take.

Delightful rxg3d V2 settings in myevic are now TC 180 36W and .25ohms from 350 to 390°.

My plan at the moment is to pair my Splinters as follows and leave the 510 connections alone...

VT75D: Z
Rxg3d: V2
Paranormal: V1
VT75 Nano: V1 (from the vgoodiez 420 sale)

yeeeeeah.... sigh. It's only one out of too many that I've used across mods: rx200s (tubo) Rx200 (stock) and RX300 (surmyevic) and shit Kanger that hot spots. It's not even a thing, I check and rotate too, but its different for sure... @VGOODIEZ anything for hotspots?

(Quite the 5plinter6ang there btw)

Had my first ever splinter combustion event last night- totally my fault though, I was just trying to wring the last goodie out of a bowl (the last of the night) that looked pretty well spent, and must have been pulling too slowly at 47ish watts, loads of vapour and then *boom* hot rock in the WPA. Would never have been able to let it get that hot without a waterpiece. Lesson learned there.

Still the takeaway of all this is that the splinter is great through water!

I had my first combustion event after reading your post where you quoted me saying you use it as 50w. Too hot.

Ooof sorry mate. I do still use it at 50w when using it dry, as I dont get vapour any lower, but it's hot and harsh, so I'd not combusted before as my throat would catch fire before the herbs did!

@paehtod, your gonna LOVE the Z.

@bossman, you think your Splinter vas is finally squelched? :dog:

Even through water I would never go above 40W. Dry 32 - 36.

I do have a habit of looking at the basket after each hit and giving things a swirl with my fingertip or a a little stir as needed.

I take 3- 4 hits before I stir. Don't need to look as I let taste guide me as when to stir.

The V1 is now the V1+ and the Mica has been removed.

When's the 1st batch of the V1+ due to roll off the presses*? (*It's a generational expression. ;))

Fair enough, I don't get any vapour till at least 45w, I just get a sore throat and bored anything below 40! Using a second gen US made splinter if that makes any difference, perhaps they run cooler?
