Discontinued Elevape smart 2.0 (ESV 2.0)

Damn, so glad I didn't order one... I was about to, a couple of years ago, but something just didn't stick.

Elevape...

Only other suggestion would be to use it well charging. Least then can rule out if battery issue or if it’s something else.

Just a follow up. Elevape 2 doing good get 30-40 hits before batteries dead. Elevape og is still needing battery. No luck finding one that will fit. Reached out but no response from company. If anyone has contacted them please msg me.

Is the bowl screen closest to the heating element removable on the ESV? Mine seems to not want to budge when I tried to pop out the screen to soak it in ISO.

Yes, it is (I replaced mine) but I don't recall off hand exactly how. You have to strip it down most of the way, it goes in from the bottom as I recall.

Thanks @OF. I was worried to put much pressure and break something that came from factory that way. With no resource to find replacement parts, we have to be delicate with our ESVs. Now I need to see if I have a replacement screen that came along with my new to me ESV.

Strip it down. I believe it's inserted from below and has a retainer? Push it and it'll tear and distort first.

It's a standard (English) size as I recall, I used another screen of finer mesh?

Take is slow, it can be done.

Has anyone on FC successfully sourced down a replacement battery for our beloved ESV since the company went down? It's going to be a sad day when this guy doesn't take a charge any longer.

To remove the retainer ring I use a silicone mp from another vape and I'm able to unthread it (using friction) without to be afraid to break anything. In fact there is 2 screens here: the bottom one closer of the heating element is large mesh and the upper one is medium-fine mesh size. Some gunk might be stuck between this 2 screens and deflect the airflow creating hot spots. Not sure how good it is but I removed the large mesh screen to avoid this issue...

Hey ESV guys, just an FYI for anyone curious on what happened with the company. Not sure if this has already been shared ( I haven't read all of the OG ESV thread yet)but the batteries were the issue of why the company ended up folding. They couldn't get enough demand to produce enough batteries. It's a custom battery with custom electronics and there's no chance of acquiring replacement batteries anymore. So cherish yours while its still working. I know I am enjoying the experience with mine even though stirring is a pain. It's tastes is one of the best I've experienced and its the most efficient device to date for me.

Update on the ESV battery.....May have some good news for us on this matter. It sounds like we can possibly replace the batteries ourselves with the correct cells.

To replace the battery, I was directed to purchase 6 pieces of 502030 size LiPo cells and solder them. Beware of the polarity and the battery parameters (all cells must be the same at least 120-160 mAh, the stronger the better). The cells must have protection circuit. Such cells can be found easily in Ali express ebay or similar sites.

This is from communication with one of the engineers I've been attempting to reach.

I'm confused. 6 packs? Do they mean in each battery pack, it will contain 6 lipo cells and I need to find a source that has this config?

I looked around ebay, I see a bunch that look very similar to what the ESV uses but want find the right one. I'm not too technical in the electrical world, please help someone.

I kinda just given up on this. I looked a while back and had no luck finding a replacement for mine. Anything powerful enough was too big to fit.

Not great news if the company wasn't able to even source batteries going be even harder for use to do.

Let mine run down not sure it can bring back this time. In past been able get it working by charging it then taking a bunch cold hits after 15 or so of them unit starts feel warm again. I do that till light shows needs to recharge. Don't know why but it's worked the couple times I let it sit without use. Might be worth a shot.

Edit well got some vapor and it's getting hot again. It needs be charge. Hopefully will be working again after it completely recharges. Still after the last time I could only get about 20 good hits on the battery. Sadly it's on it's last leg I fear.

I'll continue to use mine til the battery goes out then. There is hope on the horizon for a new product from the team that built the tech used in ESV. Sounds like a new project is in the works already. Looking forward to what it might be.

I spoke with a member of the Hunify team who helped me with my battery replacement question and he mentioned to look out for something possibly next year sometime from them. It will not be from the ipuffusa brand as that is done. So I expect the same caliber of tech in a new device in the future.

It be nice see a this tech live on. I revived and started using mine again. If you let it sit to long takes some work to bring the dormant battery back to life. Getting around 35-40 hits off battery far cry from the 60-80, but enough to remember why I love this little black box. Keep hoping someday to find a battery replacement.

To revive a dormant battery. Hook the elvape to the computer open the elevape software increase one slider to close to maxs Let it charge to a full charge. Then start drawing on the elvape on that high setting.

After about 20-30 cold hit you should start to feel a little heat from device. Plug back into computer recharge it. This time you should be getting some light hits. Run battery down recharge and should be good to go.

I think most people let them sit to long. Then when charge it doesn't work. For whatever reason it seems the battery needs to go thru a few charges discharges like above before working normally again.. I have revived mine 3-4 times using this method.

This device works best if used often if you let it sit the battery acts up.

Another tip is the replacement coils are larger than stock coils. If you trim a loop or so off to more closely match size of original it works much better.
