Discontinued Vapir NO2

Taste is one of the more desirable aspects of vaping. Why would someone who does research and development for Vapir not know this? I just don't get it.

Vapir is in it for the money. They don't give a shit as long as the profit margin stays high.

Hi all

I've had the NO2 for a few days so I'd write my experience:

Cons first:

A little too big and plasticky (seems even cheaper than the Oxygen v2 I have).

The mouthpiece is very hot at 400F. You must wait a while before attempting to clean it. At 400F most herbs burn rather than vap, so it may not be an issue for most. Warning (OT): Salvia divinorum in this vape is EXTREMELY potent, beware.

The filters. Yeah, they suck.

The unit takes quite a while to reach 'baseline' temp once turned off.

Pros:

Much improved air circulation over the Oxygen 2. As a result, aroma is pretty decent (I've decided to let it burn-in for an hour and a half at max temp before using it). There's no obvious plastic taste that I can notice.

It may not be stealthy enough but it sure did not attract attention in the street. It seems like it could take knocks well. The battery door is very sturdy as well.

It reaches the desired temp very quickly. It stays very near it for 20 minutes until auto-shutoff.

Vapor is thick if the proper technique is used. Once you've learned what temp is good and how to suck the air out, you're immediately rewarded by nice thick vapor when exhaling.

It makes the Oxygen 2 almost obsolete. It gets the job done at half the time, is slightly easier to clean, and the battery is well-integrated this time (and is much easier to charge).

I'll continue to abuse the device and update you.

Good vaping!

Why is it that the ONLY users that indicate that there is no plastic taste are those that review this vape on their very first post?

"The plastic taste is honestly a non issue on the NO2, that was the biggest concern with the Oxygen so it was addressed with the NO2."
----vaporizers.ca

"I don't know which was more satisfying, the massive good taste, the powerful tingle on the back of the throat, the extremely nice airflow (which came through with a fraction of the sucking effort of the Iolite), or the fantastic vape cloud that was flying out on the exhale."
-----skyskate

"There's no obvious plastic taste that I can notice."
----JahSeh

Now granted, the poster above did mention some negative things about the No2, but it's still very odd. Of course, I guess one could say that it's very odd that the only people that report a bad, plasticy taste are those who are longer standing members here.

edit: JahSeh, I'm a bit confused. In the "cons", you stated, "The unit takes quite a while to reach 'baseline' temp once turned off. " Then in the "pros", you said, "It reaches the desired temp very quickly." These two statements seem to contradict one another.

I am sure that this is so the review sounds more real, if it is too perfect people might get suspicious

Yeah. It's almost like Vapir says, "Ok for every negative report that shows up at FC, we will send in a shill to post a positive one, but those guys are kinda smart in fishing us out, so we better do a better job this time by not over-hyping the pitch.

Attention Vapir...........it ain't gonna work.

Came back from a one hour trip out in a busy street. While a few bystanders
looked, no-one approached to ask. Sucking on a black bottle does not look natural,
yet, the trip was successful (battery still going after approx. 65 minutes of usage).

The unit does climb to the desired temp quickly (much less so when the battery is used)
but it cools down very slowly, which prevented me from putting it right back in
my backpack. The vap cannot fit a pocket, really. I tried, it's not convenient at all.

I'm happy so far but I hope it lasts long. It was not a small purchase for me.

Day 2.5 of burning in. Still smells bad. I'm thinking this is less plastic and more electronic. It smells more at the heating end of the unit than the battery end. I assumed this was because the plastic was heated and then smelled.

Now I'm thinking this is electronic parts smelling. No idea what, and this is only a theory. When totally cool, you would think the plastic all over would have the same smell. This is not the case. The smell is definately coming from the heating element area.

If this is the case, it's possible that some units smell where others may not. Again, just a theory. A shame, since the variable temp + Lithium batteries really hold a lot of promise.

It would look more promising to me if the battery didn't cost $40. Just like with the Volatizer VM3, the use time of the battery will decrease over time and eventually it'll need to be replaced.

I have a similar issue and am also thinking this is electronic not plastic. Like excess solder flux. Given enough time this may go away. Or it may not. I'd feel better if some legit poster had experience with smell going away completely.

Fortunately I'm dealing with an accomodating retailer who will let me return the unit if Im not happy. Im much more loyal to the retailer than I am to the vape.

not necessarily ... depends on the lithium chemistry used (which i can't find on their website) ... for example, my LiFePO4 batteries are not noticably degrading after about two years of very heavy use.

After much more careful sniffing with the unit cool, I am not thinking this is a plastic issue at all. This all sounds rediculous, I realize, but when sniffing the unit, I only smell the distinct odor near the vent openings at the top OR the seams where the plastic comes together.

This is some electronic thing. Not that this makes the inhalation of the smell any less of a worry. Might me more of a concern, in fact...

I am almost CERTAIN that much of the "electronic" (or whatever each we Vapir No2 noob) talked about smelling, is related to the screens in their brand new state.. I took my bottom screen out and haven't put it back in, and held the top screen over a lighter to burn off whatever is/was on it. Using the lighter that way, seemed to fume off a noticeable amount of stuff.. some of which was.. no doubt residue from the herbs input up to that point. But since that exercise, I think I can safely say that the hint of metal taste is gone.

If you notice the threads, they (us No2 noobs) consistently go from thinking its plastic, to RE-thinking its more like a metal taste.

Since I managed the screens this way, (now after about 1 month) I've not been noticing anything but the smell and taste of vaped herbs... as I understand the process. (Iolite only experiencer)

On another note.. what a bunch of psychotic conspiracy theorists there are here in this forum! Some of you are so negative WITHOUT any No2 experience, that you come across as SHILLS for competitors YOURSELVES!

After several MONTHS of actual No2 USE.. I am able to report that the unit is holding up to more and more rugged use as I get less and less worried about hurting it.

I compare everything to the Iolite, since it is my only other vape experience, and I now have a new addition to my list of positives on the No2.. No worries about breaking the mouthpiece "stem." I have forgotten to worry about this, as I babied it with the Iolite.

Also, I totally stopped using the clear plastic tube. Although its angle and size makes it more perfect for making it look like you are sipping on a drink!.. I was getting bummed about seeing all the vaped residue building up on the inside of the straw. So thought to myself "I don't want that to go into the straw.. I want it to go into me."

without using the tube, I compare it to the Iolite again, and at the temps i am vaping, 170c.. I notice another benefit, the unit vapor does not burn my mouth as the Iolite did. Iolite was always burning the inside of my mouth on long draws late in the session. The No2, allows you to keep drawing without any need to pull back from getting too hot on the tongue or roof of mouth- as Iolite did.

I might make a video today of the vapor, per request, and post it..
I might also include in that, a video of me taking out a brand new screen, and putting it over a lighter and showing you that it burns off something, which is what causes the initial reaction of "plastic-to-eventual-metalic-conclusions of No2.

I'm trying to add to the knowledge bank of users, Burn the screens first, then try it. Meanwhile, I continue to use the NO2 in bliss! And you conspiracy theorists can/ should beat me up because I have never toked on anything other than an Iolite to compare against. That is all you need to say to discredit me. (I have no real vape experience) But please stop calling ME a shill. I am not reporting to this as a shill.

On a more humorous note.. please tell me how much one can make a shill for either the Vapir company, or as an anti-Vapir-shill for a competing company? And does anyone want to suggest a base line (probably non portable) vaporizer to allow me the insight you have regarding the ultimate experience with the purest vaporology on our planet now? Then I/we can compare it the No2 experience.

It's not the screens for crying out loud. Do you really think we're that stupid?

The device has fundamental problems associated with the smell / taste.

I happen to think you are, in fact a shill.

Mod note: Use the 'report' button or ignore the post. Calling a member a "shill" (whether they are or not) qualifies as flaming and qualifies you for an infraction.

C'mon read who posted comments, then tchek their previous posts and you'll see that most have tried many vaporizers.
We don't know you and your only posts are about the vapir...
Looks really suspicious
Add to that that you like to write really long posts when most forum posters try to keep it short.
Add on top of that all the shitty products vapir created before.
Then ice that with a strong habit from some manufacturers to pollute forum with false reviews.

And if you are an honnest consumer you will understand... actually you should have understand already.

THAT is ad copy. Has ANYONE here read an honest review by ANYONE about ANY vape that sounds like that? And, btw, the above sentence was in reference to vaping the ABV from an Iolite in an No2. LOL !!!! Give me a fucking break.

Skystate, give it up. You trying to defend your position here is an insult to our intelligence. Tell your cohorts over at Vapir that they are barking up the wrong tree here. Your efforts in trying to slam the Iolite by extolling the virtues of the Vapir is soooooo transparent that your continued efforts are starting to get embarrassing.

All one has to do is go back in this thread, read all of your flowery posts while noting that you have not posted anywhere else in this site about anything else and your reason for existing here becomes painfully obvious. No posts from you in the Iolite thread. No posts from you regarding using different temps in the vape temp threads. No posts from you regarding vaping different strains. No posts for you about the health benefits from vaping over smoking. No comments from you regarding politics, religion, jokes. Not one question from you regarding anything about vaporizing, from one who claims to be a vape newb. Nothing. No posts in ANY other thread other than this one. The ONLY posts from you have to do with extolling the virtues of the No2 while at the same time slamming it's most obvious competitor.

Like I said, skystate, give it up. People here just aren't going to fall for this crap. I called you out on your very first post here and nothing has changed. You are in fact, causing more bad will against Vapir than if you never appeared here at all.

Your purpose here is as obvious as the sky is blue.

Mod note: The thread is about a vape, and not whether company reps are posting as unbiased members or not. No one has reported a single post in the thread, and that's the only proper way to deal with suspected rule breaking. No more comments are to be made by anyone about other members' suspected intentions.

Fuck, no public lynching party? Lynching parties are a lot more fun than sending in a report. Ok, fair enough. Report it is. :/

Just an update. I have been burning this unit in for 4 days now. While there was a significant drop in the smell initially, it has levelled off. It is not improving. I can't return it, since I've "tried" it with herbs (once), so I'll just keep burning in and see what happens. Since I can't return it, maybe I'll open it up and see what it looks like.

Is there even a single vaporist working at VAPIR? How do they spend all that money on development and miss a tiny little detail like the fact that the vape tastes like plastic? :uhoh:

It makes me think, if they are so cheap that they won't solve this problem, what other shortcuts are they taking?

hello everybody,

Looks like theres an all out war in this thread, lol. Seems like the "vape enthusiasts" are 100% against the NO2 and the noobs love it. I don't really know how i figure into all this.

Definitely not new to vaporizing but this is my first post here as I am more of a lurker. I currently own a digi volc, vape bros (LOL) and now an NO2. I used to have an iolite but i ended up selling it.

I enjoy the NO2 because it fills the void of needing a portable vape in my rotation. Sometimes, when im too lazy (read:medicated) i end up just using my no2 home instead of the volcano because its a lot less work.

Out the box, my friends said it looked like a big dildo but that just goes to show you whats on their minds ;) I don't really know what to type here in terms of review that hasn't been said before in this thread. I get nice dense vapors from the no2 comparable volcano. The battery usually lasts me about an hour. Screen replacement is pretty straight forward, dont know how one can muck that up although at first the top screen was a little tough to undo at first.

In terms of cons, i wish the herb chamber was a little larger and maybe the unit was overall a little smaller. I thought it might be a cool idea to throw the no2 in a big gulp or double big gulp cup and have the straw come out through the top for use in public. Also, the flat black finish is a little dull. I really wish that I could state something negative here for all you naysayers so you dont think im a shill (hahaha) but in all honesty, i have bee nothing more than pleased with this unit

To the person who asked if they add herbs before or after the unit reaches temperature. Personally, i always do it AFTER the unit has reached its temp so that way your not wasting vapes. Just cuz your not inhaling on the unit doesnt mean vapes arent being produced

Also, if you guys are having issues with your units, call them up! My buddy had an oxygen mini with a bad connection and they replaced it for him with a new one! I dont think a plastic taste lasting 2 months is normal so id definitely contact them.

And now i leave you with a little treat. I hooked up my no2 to my buddies sovereignty "water pipe" and well....those who dont think this unit makes dense vapor, this vid might shut you up. If not, haters gon' hate hahaha. And btw, had to create a new youtube acct for this shit so you guys better thank me! You'd be surprised how paranoid applying to grad schools has made me!

I don't think anyone here has stated that the Vapir doesn't make dense vapor. The overriding problem is the plastic/electronic taste that apparently, only shows up when the vape is used by our more seasoned veterans here, but totally disappears when used by those whose very first post is a Vapir review.

I guess one can draw whatever conclusions one wants from this observation.
