so could you use it right out of the box or did you have to charge it? Mine is literally being delivered any minute now....

I go where the thrills are
Hey guys, I have FF2 for couple of weeks, no problems so far. I wondered how to use the power tuning to a desirable temperature? For instance, I use FF2 mostly on medium low 360°F / 182°C but I would like to get somewhere between medium low and medium, which would be +5°C or + 10°F. What would be my optimal power tuning setting? Somehow I doubt the preset temperatures are any accurate in such a small device anyway, so getting on the 365°F sweet spot is not very realistic, but maybe you know more?

Try using medium low on plus 5. That should put you right between the two settings.

Just got it. Shows a 75% charge on opening the pack. I go to use it and I get flashing red lights (and power disengages) which as I understand it means that it needs to be charged. Im confused....

This is such a cool vaporizer (I am now addicted to the grasshopper and this vape though I am not counting on the grasshoppers long life). However when this vaporizer gets cold (50-60 degrees) I get the rapidly flashing red light. This has happened twice. The last time I put in a fresh battery and it still did it. So I warmed up the fly and then it worked normally. Anyone else get this.

I have noticed that with the arrival of winter the batteries don't work as well as when they were warm and happy.

I have not found the power gauge to be very accurate. You'll have to get used to the vape and how to charge it without the crutch.

My battery level indicator has never worked. It shows full charge and then 3/4. If it is 3/4 I charge it. In the summer I could get one more bowl. In the winter maybe, maybe not. I end up just counting the bowls and not looking at the charge level.

Early thoughts:

  • Wow. On Medium heat, the flavour is astounding. Never tasted anything like this. Ive never used concentrates but tried some last night. The flavor was like a breath of lemon honey. Amazing.
  • Quality of device in hand is stellar.
  • Not sure why people talk about a learning curve. I found this easy to use and to get great results quickly.
  • The efficiency of this thing is second to none. I cant believe how little flower I used last night. Barely any.
  • Cleaned it today. Took me about .4 seconds.
  • On the downside, the blue light keeps flashing when I charge it even though it has to be fully charged
  • I wish the oven was a little bigger
  • I would like to see a smart path like the IQ uses so I dont have to manually raise the temp throughout my session
Overall VERY happy with my purchase.

It's entirely variable. Those of us who were used to the FF1 had little or no learning curve....other folks have found it more difficult to get over the initial curve. It's kind of like a vape Rorschach test.

In any event it's good to hear you are enjoying it so much!

Glad to hear. I watched you agonize over a vape decision. This is a major investment...

I wish they had vape stores like car dealerships, so you could take them out for a test drive...

It was a process thats for sure lol. Its a lot of money so I had to really vet the products. I really really wanted a Davinci IQ and in their promo vids and some of the reviews, it looks awesome but man I cant believe all of the problems they are having, and its the types of problems that really spooked me. I actually placed an order for the IQ, then cancelled it and got a refund. I think they are having BIG problems over there at Davinci. I think the trend we saw, them active on here answering peoples' concerns, and then they basically disappeared. I think they are having serious issues with that product and liability concerns are preventing them from commenting on some of these gripes.

If Colorado passes Senate Bill 63 this year, a cannabis consumption club would probably be the best place to buy a vape, when you can try it out http://leg.colorado.gov/bills/sb17-063 Feel free to the let Senate Business Committee know you support the bill, even if you don't live in Colorado as our laws tend to find their way to a state near you!

My iq has been pumpin for a while with no issues and compliments my ff2 incredibly. Both are tops for taste. One on demand, the other session greatness:tup:

This forum helped me a lot in making the great decision to buy a firefly 2 so I feel I need to give back by sharing my experience with this vape. First of all I am completely new to vaping meaning I have never vaped before I recently got back to smoking after a 20 year hiatus and have become a weed weekend warrior. I quit smoking cigarettes two years ago and this was the main reason I wanted to get into vaping. For weeks I obsessively searched for everything I could find on vaping, I Looked at the pax 3 then was obsessed with the IQ and then came to the conclusion that the FF2 was the one that best fit my needs. I read a lot of negative feedback about it but there were also a lot of very happy owners and even though there was some doubt in my mind I went with my gut and bit the bullet.

I received my FF2 about three weeks and out of the box it just worked it got my high as shit and I was getting very tasty vapor the bowl would just last and last. But inside I knew it could be better so I started messing with the packing, the stirring, working on my pull but I didn't mess too much with the heating profiles. It wasn't until this past sunday that I hit the magic button on this thing, I had a session with two of my friends and we just went at it. We were getting huge clouds right away so we just kept going lower and lower on the heat profiles every time we went down the taste just got better and the clouds were dense and huge.

The way to use this vape it to start on low and slowly got up the heating profiles it feels like you're smoking your bud in layers. We got to the point were we felt that all was gone, it still had more to give but since you get spoiled by the magical flavor on the lower settings you just want to get back to that. This thing just fucking rocks I feel sorry for those who bought it and were let down I don't know if the people at firefly changed something but mine is working like a dream.

^ awesome. How low do you go on the heat settings? I usually start on medium and work my way up.

I'm not the original person you asked, but for my firefly 2 sessions, I start on medium-low and after 5-6 tasty draws, I bump it up to high. I'm always on 111% power tuning as well. After another 8-10 draws the bowl is usually done. I stir every couple hits as well.

With a fresh bowl I start on low and 105 power tuning.

And this is why I consider the firefly 2 a great vape, for me. There is no "right" way to use it and because everyone can find what works for them with the app it becomes pretty versatile. My SO never uses the high setting for herb. Starts on low and works her way up to medium-high. She also likes sticking with 100% power tuning, but will use 111% if she is going for a quicker session.
