The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

I know that at some point I'm gonna get the AV as well just to do a comparison and then offhand it to my brother. That dude's so lucky, he gets everything when I upgrade XD If I didn't like bubblers so much though, I think I woulda gone for the AV for the same reasons that FLskwat posted up. It's nice having a mouthpiece on the end of your whip. Can someone upload a pic w/ water at different angles tho? Itd be interesting to see how the water works. I see it, but I can't picture it other than upright.

And I think the guy broke it at some point other than the ISO wash :2c: He was just kinda a idiot and worried me just enough to hold off on it for now.

Alright, now for bubbler review. I got it at like, 12:30 or so, and it's seemed to occupy me until 2. In the sense that... well, you'll see.

So immediately I pull it out of the box, excited due to the fact I've been waiting for it on my day off and I'm instantly shocked by the size of it. It's like, 1/2 the size of my EQ. I'd check, but I have to post this from my kitchen. Too many accidents happen when I medicate and let things simmer. :ko: Anyways, I attach it to the tubing and instantly notice its first breaking point: the stem. If that were to break, it would render it unusable, and seeing as how it's simply suspended there, it worried me. Another downside to small glass pieces. In my head I'm thinking that it's kinda a bummer of a buy, but I try it out anyways. I start at 200 and get nothing. Looking back I saw that people generally used glass/water at 220, so I crank it up to there and start to get a bit of vapor. I look at the elbow and it's slightly browned, and I'd loaded a bit less than half a elbow. I cook it and notch it up 10 degrees and exhale a solid combustion hit. Fall backwards shocked. I'm giggling just writing this hahaha. Anyways, I decide to load up a rather large elbow for me, about 3/4 of the way full. I also keep it at 225. Instantly it starts filling with vaposmoke and I get 3 super solid hits before it starts to get thin. I work it up to 235 and finish it off.

That ended my vaping, which stopped at about 12:50 or so. I then proceeded to stare and giggle at the bubbler for 5 minutes, then walk downstairs to decide what to eat. Pulled chicken out of the fridge after staring at it for a while. Put it back after it took me about 5 minutes to realize we had no bread. This was after staring at the bread for 5 minutes. These stories continue up until now, where I sit at 2, making mac n cheese and throughly baked. My goodness. This puts major smiles on faces.

Happy with VaporBrothers, and they have a good return service (checked into it of course, just in case). Still, a little disappointed with their return policies after hearing about Arizer's service. Bought my Extreme used for $100, but I plan to pick up a new Solo for $200 in about a week.

thoroughly vaped
The AV works OK, but haven't used it as much as I thought I would. It is handy, durable and easy to use - so a crowd pleaser with friends who don't normally vape.

It is "drip proof" in that the water doesn't come out once it's in. So, you can lay it down on the sofa or a table and it doesn't leak at all. Down side is that you have to hold it upright for it to function and the only way to clear water out it is to blow into the top and shoot water out bottom. It's impossible to get the last bit out. But, for the price - it's hard to beat.

Even though it involves a little more work (basically just inserting/removing the elbow from GonG), I use one of my bubblers most of the time. I think the Ben Wilson mini tube inline goes real well with the EQ, but at $250 on ALT it's nearly 4 times the cost of an AV. But, it's great for smoke or oiling up on occasion too.

If you can wait a bit to have a custom piece made just for you, check these guys out -
http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Gla...ustom-Glass-Novelties/141517799219143?sk=wall

Sometimes they have pieces ready to go, but usually you'll have to order and wait for it to be produced. They're nice folks, blowing great glass for a good price. I have a mini bubb that is great for vaping and am waiting on a custom with a little work on it. I think you'd have a hard time finding something anywhere close to the same quality at near the price. The mini bubb I'm using now would probably run about half the cost of the BW inline or less.

The best tip I can give you is to read through this thread. Everything has been covered that you are asking about.

It's the domed screen in the elbow glass (you have two of them, one with short tube for bags and one with whip). In that screen you pack the herb and it's elbow pack. It needs to be stirred at least once in session, not like regular cyclone bowl fill. But it will make some dense clouds from little. Great for solo use. Also if you do cyclone bowl, don't pack it, only dump it there, but elwob pack is upside down, so it needs to be packed softly. The back end of the stirring tool is ideal for this - it's just the right size and herbs don't stick to glass.

MFLB is also true vaporizer. Also really a good one. I'm using my MFLB more, than EQ. Oh, the EQ is also a excellent vape and is great to make a portable-desktop combo.

I'm considering purchasing an Extreme-Q, but had a question about the warranty. If you purchase it off of amazon or ebay to save some $$ will they still honor the warranty? Or do I have to buy it for the retail price through an authorized retailer.

If the seller is authorized they will warranty it. If your looking at a model priced way below retail then I highly doubt Arizer will honor the warranty.

well my extreme came saturday, i must say i am extremely happy with my purchase. i haven't really done alot of testing or anything yet, pretty much just set it at 220 and rip away. i tried a few ballons and they were great but the whip is where its at for me, especially nice since the elbow fits right into my sheldon black six shooter, taking vape bong hits was a total joy.:D now i'm just looking for a car adapter for it, and will prolly order a few more elbows to mess around with other setups.

I emailed them my warranty question to be sure, and this was the response I got :

"Thank you for your email. All units are covered under the warranty as long
as you have proof of purchase. In any case where warranty service is
required we always tell the customers to contact the retailer they purchased
it from for service, as it is generally faster and cheaper for customers to
resolve warranty issues through the retailer rather than dealing with the
time and costs of international shipping. It is well advised to purchase
your unit from an Authorized Arizer Dealer so you can be sure you will
receive fast service if it is required. If you are unsure whether or not a
retailer is authorized you can simply email me to find out."

I ordered off Amazon, so hopefully I won't have to find out if the dealer was authorized. But it works great, as far as I can tell. This is my first experience with a vaporizer. I used the whip a couple of times and then bought (locally) a GoG adapter for a basic blown-glass bong. Does anyone use the fan with this set up, or is that only for the bag/whip?

I don't get thick milky vapor. Most of the time, I can't see anything until the exhale. Haven't tried bags or an elbow pack. I'm still trying to figure out the right temp. I'm still wandering from 190 to 210. Regardless of all that, it works (the EQ and the effect).

I'm turning 50 next week. Been smoking tobacco for most of my adult life - way more than anything else.
I quit tobacco once, but that was only for a year. I've been trying to psych myself up to make another attempt, so I thought the cost/risk for a vape was worth it. So far, I'm happy with it and think it could work out. I just got to get to the stop-tobacco part. Those lozenges suck!

And I have to get used to the EQ and vaping. I think I've slowed down in the amount, so I probably wasted some the first few days.

Q: I'm reading through the forum, looking for tips. I've been letting my EQ warm up for 15 min or so, then loading and using right away. Is letting the herb warm up for X minutes recommended?

Sure! The fan can help get a good hit with less lung power IME. That said, I think its worth thinking about how quickly you displace air over the herb sample; if you're using a relatively drag free water pipe in concert with the fan AND sucking super hard then you may cause a noticeable temperature drop. Either way, experimenting with the fan while vape-bonging can certainly be fun IMO.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing IMO. As long as your enjoying the effects and hopefully the taste then no need for those clouds!

Keep having fun with the EQ and your glass.

You won't get thick vapour at those temperatures. You will get nice tasty hits, and you will get zonked. My preferred range is 160-190; I seldom go past that.

If you still want thick vapour, either ramp the temperature up another 10-20 degrees, or use elbow packs, or both.

Good luck with quitting smoking, and don't overlook the possibility of vaporizing tobacco.

I get thick vapor at those temps but the herb and the bowl need to warm up for 5 minutes first. I can leave the EQ 4.0 on 230 (for 1/2 hour) and drop a cold glass bowl on there and fill it and get not a lot of vapor. I can put the glass bowl and herb on their at 180 for 5 minutes and get thick vapor everytime. warm up time is key with this thing. I've owned 3 and they all are like this. let everything warm up and you will get much better results.

Nah. The only benefit I see to keeping up with nicotine is avoiding the withdrawl. THC, on the other hand, seems to have benefits besides just getting high.

And regarding thick vapor - it is not that I demand it, I just want to be sure I'm using the EQ right and being efficient. It still seems weird to still have a full bowl instead of just some ash. I'll play around with letting the herb warm for a while too instead of just the unit and bowl.

Had my Q 2 months now, of course love it. My only problem was with the PVC whip, too stiff. Ordered Silcon tubing from US Plastics @ $.82 a foot, a super improvement! Now the Q is perfect.

I've finally got a 3m bag (I think it's the same as volcano has, never seen a volcano in real life). The bowl is everytime spent before it's filled up. And then, instant. But it takes like 10-15 mins to fill up.

The bag in the icture is not very dense, I've used just like 0.1g of herb.

I just realized this is why my EQ is inconsistent. feel so stupid now, even though I've only had it a month. I think i used a cold bowl every 1st bowl. not anymore. thanks man :)

cool. Only a month. It took me longer than that to figure out heat soak time was the key to thick vapor even at low temps on the first bag.

got my Solo yesterday and have been digging that...

HEY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- new to the forum - new to vaping!!! started with E-Ciggs went to my EQ and have recently MFLB

This forum has sparked a non-combustable flame in my life - my mind, body and soul thank you!!!! (especially my asthma infected body) I was on the verge of not being able to inhale anything (other than the basic necessities) till i found the world of VAPE :D
- Back to my EQ - First Vape ever and has treated me pretty good.

- have found DEF a nice 10 min warm up at 200-215 is a MUST - Q - Is there any harm in letting my buds sit at 215 for more than 10 mins? sometimes i forget and remember 20-30 mins later :uhoh: have i lost TCH in my extended warm session???
- side note- been mixing some resign i got out of a recently broken glass :( (herb-resign-herb SANGWHICH) has really extended and dense-IfyD my vaps 3-4 vapy bags!! also dries the resign out very nicely (usually melts all over) good drying method - tricky resign been haunting me since 14 !!!!!
