I love mine! I don't see any difference (other than a logo) between any of these style vapes. Can you elaborate on what you think the difference is between them?

Yes, different woods look different, but other than that.......... ?

Just look at the various pics here in this thread as well as pics in the PD and the Zap threads.

Maybe it's all just subjective, but to my eyes, there is quite a bit of difference.

I've owned a PD and the WDZ and the only real difference was the wood, cherry(PD) and walnut(WDZ) and the leather bottoms, one purple(PD) the other black(WDZ) but nothing that made one unit look cheaper than the other :2c:

I think that each of these log type vapes can be told apart... Each manufacturer has their own distinct way of shaping the wood. May be subtle differences but enough to tell them apart.
and the internal differences are also somewhat subtle in regards to shape and function, not materials.

To me from the pictures it looks like they use different qualities or grains of wood. If you look at the PD walnut and the Woodeez walnut, you just see a more pronounced grain pattern. (Again this is just from the pictures I have seen)

Also the shape at the top is different. PD/MZ both have a different way that they round off the top, PD's have a very round shape at the top, where as the MZ has a neatly rounded right angle.

The Woodeez does not seem to have a roundness at all, looks more like an edge that was ground/sanded to take the corner out.

Wood is like any natural material that is worked, carved, or sculpted. Like clay, every artist is going to leave their style mark, so to speak.

40 bowls per gram seems like quite a stretch to me...even half of that seems almost impossible.

I get 40. And not only that, but I get 4 to 5 good hits from one bowl. Super, super efficient.

That's amazing. I never knew this device could be so efficient.

Neither did I. Even after using the PD for over 2 years, I'm still amazed every time I empty the bowl.

The power cord it came with. My ABV comes out a very, very dark brown so there is no need, with the cherrywood PD, to use a higher voltage adapter. It is as warm as I'd ever want it to be.

There is no need to use a higher voltage power supply with the Woodeez as well. The Woodeez ABV is very dark no matter if made from Walnut, Cherry or Maple. The supplied 12v works fine. Any higher and it borders on combustion. Its not made to withstand the higer voltages.

As for you feeling that the Woodeez is not up to the same craftmanship as your beloved pd, I agree with you in it being subjective. I think that if you were to see a Woodeez in person, youd find it to be just as well made as the pd. Its not as round towards the top, but its not meant to be. Its exterior shape as well as the construction is different.

Cheap??? The only thing cheap about Woodeez is the price. Compared to PD, it's $30 cheaper for FC members.

I've never estimated the number of "bowls" per gram, but I can easily see 30+. It really is amazingly efficient at small loads.

Exactly! The only difference may be the wood. I'm also sure that not all models are made of the same unique wood that you see in pictures so they are more alike than you think.

You say that you used to own a WDZ, but now you own a purple days. What made you switch. I am looking to get one of these log vapes, and the WDZ looks like the best choice. The only reason I am hesitant is because people are willing to wait months for a PD when they could get a WDZ or MZ in a week. Is there something I am missing, because it really looks like the same product to me, especially the WDZ compared to the PD (MZ has brass).

Bought the WDZ while I was on the PD wait list (it was a 5 month wait and wanted a log vape immediately), The Woodeez worked great, ran it side by side with the PD and didn't notice any difference between the two... Got rid of it because a friend of mine wanted it and offered me what I paid for it and I didn't really need two log vapes (according to my wife)....

Alright thats good to hear. I'll probably be picking up a WDZ. Any idea why the PD is so much more popular other than aesthetics and perhaps a better known name?

Besides what Jimbo said above, I suggest that you read the first post in this thread as well as the first post in the PD thread. Plus, you may want to dig a bit deeper in both to get a handle on the different design philosophies of each maker, if in fact, you would either find that interesting or feel that it is important when making a purchase. Also, visit their sites. Two totally different approaches to doing business and how they do what they do.
