I was watching this young turks video and they mentioned that gary johnson was polling at 13% :o!

It's interesting that he's grabbing more of those votes from hillary (bernie), than from drumpf. You would think that he would split the "conservative" vote not the democrats but this is a very strange election :hmm:

Rumors are that Melania's speech was quite similar to Michele Obama's speech. Maybe someone pulled a terrible cruel trick on her?

Obviously someone probably helped her with it. Melania seems like a nice person. It was a hard thing for her to do, getting up there speaking in front of such a huge crowd. I doubt if anyone would hold her to blame. Someone will defiantly get fired.

Let's see how they handle this tomorrow. Someone besides Melania is to blame. It's plagiarism is what CNN and MSNBC is saying. They are playing back Michele's speech and it's really similar.

Will Trump handle this with dignity and smarts or with defensiveness and angry words? He may say the liberal press is just picking on my wife. This is definitely a test.

Melanie is a very beautiful woman who looks marvelous at 45.

This is priceless! Melania Trump's speech plagiarized from Michelle Obama. Even Trump's wife is a phony and a thief.

Now watch, they will never, ever admit that she stole the passage from Obama.

The convention so far was even worse than I expected. They began with a woman whose son was killed in the Benghazi attacks. The woman is obviously distraught with grief and has transferred all her anger and bitterness at her loss to Clinton, who - say what you want about Clinton - is really, truly not responsible for the death of the lady's son. Umpteen witch-hunt investigations carried out by repubs have demonstrated that conclusively. The repubs in congress who consistently refused to allocate more money for diplomatic security however bear significant responsibility in this matter.

When the Facts Change, I Change My Mind.
Great interview with the guy who WROTE "The Art of the Deal".
Excerpt:
The Art of Regret
Mr. Schwartz, a former magazine writer who said he worked on the book because he needed the money, told the writer Jane Mayer that he painted Mr. Drumpf in the most positive light that he could, thinking that a sympathetic character would be better for the book’s sales than a story about a cruel tycoon. If he could do it over again, however, Mr. Schwartz said the book would be titled “The Sociopath.”

“I feel a deep sense of remorse that I contributed to presenting Drumpf in a way that brought him wider attention and made him more appealing than he is,” Mr. Schwartz said. “I genuinely believe that if Drumpf wins and gets the nuclear codes, there is an excellent possibility it will lead to the end of civilization.”

Make sure you watch Monday night Sephen Colbert. It was so great he's celebrating the republican convention. His live version of the convention. He'll be doing it all week. It was hilarious. He was talking about the Colorado Delegates walking out of the convention right at 4:20.

Also a surprise guest. I won't ruin it for you. Spectacular is how I would describe it.

I don't blame Trump's vampy trophy wife. I doubt she had anything whatsoever to do with the composition of the speech. She was no doubt given it to memorize and told to say she wrote it with "as little help as possible". But the campaign! The passage is manifestly plagiarized. It is simply beyond the bounds of possibility that so many elements would be the same and in precisely the same order by coincidence. If this were a book or article that Melania made money with, Obama would have excellent grounds for suit and would win. It was plagiarism, period, without any possible doubt. But the campaign has decided on a response of stoutly denying the obvious. If this were an isolated instance one would see it as a meaningless blip. But this is a pattern with Trump and his campaign. The guy who made a name for himself by firing people cannot admit to monstrous incompetence in his campaign staff and is doubling down on no mistakes were made, nothing to see here. What kind of administration could we expect from someone with such a callous disregard for truth? Every politician tells some whoppers but this is a whole different order of magnitude of bullshittery.

I don't blame Trumps wife either. Actually, I was REALLY impressed with her delivery. Considering that she is not an actress, politician or a public speaker, going out in a venue like that and nailing it like she did was pretty amazing. She came off as very sincere...........much more so than her husband.

Making errors, especially unforced errors like this can happen. Happens all the time, but the real issue is how the campaign responds to it and in this instance, they not only made the situation worse but missed another opportunity to inject some credibility into their efforts.

She's a supermodel; public speaking is an part of their skill suite for contests and advancement. She is auditioning for the first lady and even though this gaffe could be hitting the ratings quota, I think she had performed in a way she could even be mistaken for incumbent, at least that is why I would work in Michelle's words.

Well, at least you didn't say MORE credibility, cause at this point, on the credibility scale, they haven't made a blip yet. A grieving mother, a couple C list celebs, and a speech from a potential first lady that is obviously partially plagiarizing the current first lady. Maybe if they had plagiarized a first lady further back in history we might not have remembered her lines.

It would be funny if it weren't so sad. I too want feel bad for Melania, but somehow her circumstances make that kind of tough for me. After all, she is out there promoting America's Monster as a good choice to run the country, and she certainly knows better.

Stay tuned, folk. There is much more to come.

What I find odd, is Trump comes across as a total racist and xenophobe and yet has had two wives that are immigrants?

How come they haven't told him to wind his neck in with the 'build a wall' & 'ban foreigners' rhetoric?

There are beautiful women for sale from all over the world. Why would it surprise you to see The Donald as one of the buyers?

Loyalty is a fungible commodity just like money, after all. For sale or trade. Look at Christie...

Public speaking is way down the skill-set ladder for a model. While they do "some" public speaking, there is no way in hell that it prepared her to do what she did last night.

Agreed. She's no dummy. The lady can speak 5 languages............fluently. I find that pretty amazing.

I was stretching with that one but I will say models are more self-selected for it contrasted to people at large. That spotlight was no tanning bed, that's for true.

The sad thing for Melania is she could easily get completely out of this by just saying, "Hey, I read Michelle's speech before I wrote mine and I may have included some of her words in error. I didn't INTEND to quote her, but I may have accidentally done so." End of problem, hardly anyone would hold that against her.

Instead the Trump campaign insists on never admitting anything, deny deny deny, and then blame the other guy. They have no mechanism for acknowledging an honest mistake. They needn't get that slimy shit on Melania, but they don't know how not too.

@1DMF Trump doesn't listen to anybody. That's what's so scary about him. Melania has said that she says stuff to him about holding back a little and so does his kids. He doesn't always listen to them is what she says.

So what happens when Mr Trdump is pissed and wants to start war with a country because they made him mad about his fucking hair or said something about his wife. We'd be living in a nation of panic all the time. He's ichy to get involved in a full blown war by the way he's talking.

Edit
I figured Trump would act like they were in the right about Melania's speech. It was just similar I'm assuming is what he's telling folks. I figured he would have handled the situation like this. It's like him to act like they are always in the right no matter what.

He doesn't have it in him to be the bigger person. He's a mean little ignorant man that doesn't know shit about being a proud America. He's a thief and a liar.

Even Paul Manafort is saying it's absurd that Melania plagiarised the speech. I'm sure Donald told him to say that. It's just a coincidence.

They missed a great opportunity to ingratiate themselves with the undecideds and Dems that don't like Hillary. What they should have done is have Melania coming out and stating, "My husbands campaign managers are dealing with the speech writer responsible for this but I must say that Michelle Obama and I share some of the very same values and even though I don't feel right about by what happened last night, I also feel very proud in echoing her thoughts. She is a great first lady and I would be honored if I could follow in her footsteps.

On another note, even though the Trump campaign is adamant about this not being plagiarism, knowing Donald Trumps ego, I would HATE to be that speech writer right about now. I can imagine Trump yelling, "How DARE you do that to my wife..........and to ME !!!! He must just be fucking livid !!!

Imagine how the press would react if a Dem candidate's wife had breast implants (there is nothing wrong with implants. It is the hypocrisy), was an immigrant, lied about her college education, read a plagiarized speech and posed nude.
Why do rightwingers love the immigrant plagiarizing wife when they hate all other immigrants?
And on another note those same rightwingers loved Scott Brown for posing also.

And to top it all off the Drumpf campaign is blaming Hillary.
Here is the answer as to why this immigrant lady is given a pass by bagger nation:

The campaign must be keeping Trump baby sat and hidden away so he doesn't say a bunch of insane things regarding the speech that was "just similar" to Micheles's speech,

Even Cory Lewanski thinks that whoever signed off on the speech should be fired. Probably sour grapes on his part.

I bet the campaign is looking over Tiffany Trump's speech for tonight. The son is talking tonight too.

Edit
Alert. Roger Ailes is being let go at Fox New. Due to inappropriate behavior with female employees.
