Really can't make my mind up, this or the GH. Battery seems to be a lot better with the firefly

I ordered a GH in April and I'm hoping to get it in July. I ordered an FF2 at the end of May and I may have had in less than a week? So if timliness is an issue there is that to consider.

ArthurJ,
Try uninstalling, and then re-installing the app. See if you can reconnect after a fresh install.

It's the o-ring under the glass (or whatever) bottom of the bowl. Yours shouldn't look broken. There's no reason for it to have any gaps, and given that it's not user-exposed, unlikely to be suffering from any usage stress. Moreover, any real gap in the ring would probably cause you noticeable issues pretty quickly, i.e. material would migrate from the bottom of the bowl into the FF itself and hit the heating element....I'm guessing you'll know if that's happening. :p All of which is to say your ring is probably unbroken and the gaps may be an optical illusion or trick of the light hitting the inside of the bowl.

More, including a pic: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-firefly-2-vaporizer.20281/page-88#post-973247. (If you can post a pic of yours, that would help.)

Here are a couple pics, and mine definitely does not look like the one in your picture above. Should I contact customer support?

Edit: I have had near black (burnt) herb coming out of the unit recently, so could this be caused by a messed up o-ring? Also, I know it may kind of look like an optical illusion in the picture but I am almost 100% certain that the ring is not in its proper place or even fully intact.

Jumped on the two for one lids deal. Great offer from firefly. I have an external battery charger on backorder. Was supposed to be a few weeks. Now I hear they are making changes for the better for it and that's why it's not listed anymore. I hope they put in a wall wart on it and not have the plug in adapter.

I think I can see the rest of the ring, it looks like it's just not pressed up against the bowl in certain spots.

I agree. It looks whole to me, just a little obscured by the way it's positioned. It might look clearer if you shine a flash into the bowl, if you aren't doing that it the pic. (Honestly nothing about your pic seems alarming to me.)

I'm sure you're fine...you can always call CS if you have a real issue....you have plenty of warranty time. :2c:

That's a really tough choice. They both have very cool designs. One thing, for sure, that the FF2 has as an advantage is you can get one right now. Based on reports, the FF2 has smoother/cooler vapor and mouthpiece. The GH has more satisfying pulls and a shorter acclimation period. The FF2 is very stealth on smell and the GH is very stealth visually.

My vote is for FF2 now and GH later. :)

It looks melted and/or disintegrated..particularly in the 2nd one.

That's exactly what mine looks like. The oring isn't pressed up against the bowl all the way. Would this cause any issues? I'm curious. While I'm still getting clouds and what not, I am curious if performance would be better or is this purely cosmetic.

Probably not. A broken seal there would allow debris to fall into the FF, potentially, but shouldn't cause any material change in the bowl temp. (A lot of factors can combine to char your weed in the FF, o-ring issues aside.)

If you're concerned and/or convinced there's a defect in your FF you should definitely contact CS.

So I jumped on the 2 for 1 Lid deal and got White & Red. Also, they shipped my order already and it looks like my order came just at the right time. My original Black FF2 lid gasket has come half way off. I have been cleaning it with ISO wipes, but I must admit the gasket has always been kind of loose on my lid and I just assumed it normal. Once I get my new lids I will be contacting FireFly support to see what they can do.

I haven't noticed any gasket issues with mine. I've had it about a month I would guess and still is my go to at home. It just works for me. I'm using about .1-.12g of material and it lasts me 16-18 pulls and never kill the battery. Usually around 6-7 days at 2 to 4 pulls. No issues getting vapor and I see a little cloud at least almost every single pull from low to med high as I move up gradually over the 6-7 days. Taste is fantastic on low as you could imagine. I overgrinded accidentally this load and am wondering what the effect may be. This is almost a pax2 fineR grind, but not extremely fine. Anyone else do this yet and have some idea how it will go this load?

Tip for preventing holes from getting clogged:

After you remove the concentrate pad and wipe out the bowl, you can put the lid back on, take a quick draw with an empty bowl for 5-10 seconds and you'll see some of the concentrate residue seep up through the holes. wipe down the bowl again and you'll be able to get additional residue out.

Even if the holes aren't clogged yet, you'll still see some residue come up. This is keeping mine clean and unclogged switching between herb and concentrates!

Just a heads up man, there is no way you are getting that GH in July if you ordered in April. Not sure if youve been following it closely but theyre about a 1 year+ behind. If I had to guess when you would receive it it would most likely be Feb/March 2017.

so with this 2/1 deal what are people thoughts regarding getting a white lid and painting it a cool color I.e hunter green? I am concerned about what kind of paint to use which would look good but also to make sure I don't use something that could hurt me. I figure since gasket is underneath I'm not sure how paint would come in contact with gasket but I'm not good about thinking things through like this plan....

Any thoughts whether this is doable, dumb, or suggestions regarding which type of paint to use and how to best do it would be appreciated....

Haven't been using my firefly much this week the lid gasket has become loose around bowl area waiting on replacement. It still works fine, it's just I got my new grasshopper on Monday and I been playing more with it than the firefly. Love them both.

Really can't get over how well the first few hits taste on the firefly. Hopefully they come out with a glass mouthpiece soon.

Ordered external charger about a week ago and it shipped today. Jumped on that 2 for 1 deal this morning also and that shipped almost immediately. Definitely wanted the white and I was deciding between red or gold but went with red.

I think this sounds awesome. Unfortunately, I have very little experience with paint and whatnot, but I would love to see somebody do some cool custom paint/art on their FF2. Kind of makes me wish I ordered a white lid. Just placed my order for blue and red this morning.

Somebody help this man out! :goon:

Ha ha thanks purple!! I may just spray paint it green after covering the little glass part but I don't know. And yeah I have seen some sick street spray painters in NY and kind of want to give them the white lid and be like go to town!

@vape4fun that is a great idea! I work in the Harley field and deal with lots of bike shops. which means they know some great air brush painters. I might reach out and see if someone might want to do some sick design on a white lid. Might be a while though because yesterday I ordered two lids and the case. None of the lids are white as I thought it might not keep up being clean.

I ordered yesterday around 11:30 AM and it just arrived at my house with standard shipping. Firefly is really on it!

Awesome. My #1 concern is some spray paint getting on the gasket but I'm wondering if you use blue tape underneath the lid and just make sure it's on there well I don't see the paint getting on the gasket or seal but who knows. I guess I'm a bit surprised nobody has done this with a white lid before and I don't know if there's an obvious reason I'm not thinking of!

Hello all, first time posting on this forum. Read through most of these 120+ pages--lot of great info and I am convinced on getting the FF2 for my very first vape.

I am curious about the waiting time on this pre-order, though. The site says June. When I called they said, "within two weeks," third party sellers say 1-3 weeks or more, obviously having to wait on FF to receive the units first...

I'm hoping to see if anyone has purchased one in the last week, while the item has been listed as "pre-order"....$330+ is a lot of money to shell without a shipping confirmation for another 2 weeks. I understand the product is great. But I am concerned with this back order situation. If anyone has insight on this, it would be greatly appreciated (for myself and future info-seekers). I've spent the better half of a day reading through this whole forum. Can't really gather any up-to-date info on the unit's back order and shipping.
