Edit: anyone have some tips for cleaning the bottom of the glass nails? I have some old original ones but they are pretty dirty and flavor suffers greatly.

I used to put the glass nails on a long nail upside down and then butane torch them clean. Never
broke one but was a bit careful to heat them up slowly. That worked good.

Now I put them in very hot water with PWB (Powdered Brewery Wash) for about 12 hours. Rinse
them and then use an iso covered q-tip to finish it off. This seems to work equally well as the
torch.

Thank you @wildything I'll give that a go. Just curious, have you had an enail, good portable wax vaporizer like something from uptech or kiln/divine tribe to compare the flavor to? I was kind of shocked at the terp flavor on the Omicron and I'm hoping I can find a way to get something similar off the EVO. Though like others have said I would still use the EVO often for concentrates because of the smoothness/conservation. I didn't get great flavor off rigs, but I don't think I ever got in the low temp range with quartz effectively using a torch and carb cap, mine always tended to be harsh, and once I tried the EVO I pretty much stopped using it. It also was very wasteful of product compared to the EVO. The EVO truly does save you $$

Hope someone else has some pointers as well, just to see if there are varying techniques out there, but looking forward to testing out @wildything method.

12 o'clock gives me crazy flavor unless it's heat soaked then maybe 11. I get get most of the dab in a hit or 2, but then need to burn off at higher temp

I have had good success just soaking them in some iso for a few hours to let whatever is gunked up in there free up a bit and soften once that is done i'll dry them out and thrown them back in the evo on high to burn off whatever is left and they are always spotless for the most part , maybe a tiny bit of staining.

I can't really say as far as taste from a pen vape since all I have used is a cloud pen. But compared to a quartz/titanium enail it's very tasty, but the cleanliness of the product does come into play more than on an enail or torch. Just to add the vapor does seem to taper off before getting into the end of the dab so that is also a good indication but with less clean concentrates it could get harsher quicker.

Edit : I will try to clean 1 nail in iso and 1 using the pbw/ iso for a side by side but these nails are pretty far gone. I was never able to get the ugly oxidation off the bottom but was most likely just impatient with my technique, Thanks for the advice guys!

A Portable has a place of use? (not as incredible as a EVO)
FLAVOR/EFFECT=EVO = Worth the wait = I use it more and more because it will spoil you like a kid who has rich parents!

I clean my nails with a torch, they are the Quartz though cause glass won't fit my tube. If you invert them, they fit perfectly into 14mm female.(top of nail fits) I have a glass dome from a rig I turn upside down, throw some parchment paper underneath to catch the crap, and torch away at them. They are good as new! I rinse em with water and ISO sometimes if they're really filthy. I always torch first though.

@Oogendoogan did you get a tube with it? Very interested to see how you like it and compared to your arsenal

So when you do it in two hits, how do you not get the burnt flavor on the second one? Do you exhale the first very quickly and start inhaling again? If there's a second hit does it taste pretty burnt before the vapor thins?

This is normal. I have all kinds of devices, Wonderful enail with SiC dish for low temp dabbing, divine tribe atty, I buy pretty much every concentrate I can get (except the VB2) and it's hard to beat the Evo for concentrate flavor!
I usually dab at 12 o clock. I put 1 dab worth in and get 2 hits, the first is the most flavor I get out of my concentrates, even a little better than the enail unless it's turned way down. Then the second hit, it is HUGE but a lot of the terps were gone in the first hit. And by the end of the second hit it's just the crud that tastes bad. I let the rest burn off, 3 o'clock seems to clean mine back to clear after an hour.
The enail does the same thing but you get the entire 2 hits in 1, from the terpy first hit to the bigger, but less tasty second hit. The enail and Liger just gives you both rolled into one. I like to use both but the Enail is ALWAYS on at my house lol

Yeah man I got the hydrabomb starter kit so I'll have one of those. I'm actually thinking another one would be cool, I almost went honeycomb but I love open airflow so much. and I have a feeling the Evo blows away everything i have lol. I mean don't get me wrong my milaana rips and the vapcaps are awesome, those are my two favorites right now, but my SSV, Lsv are gonna be things of the past I think they are great vapes but when it comes to convection through water, which is like the only way I medicate, the Evo wins haha. EVO will be at my door tomorrow and I can get super high and take some pics of my new set up

Mine does not move or twist at all. You should contact VXL.

it isn't uncommon but it's definitely a sign of a unit that's close to defective even if it isn't defective yet. mine started off like that but it worked fine for a bit, then eventually it worsened. can mis-align the heater, make for an imperfect air seal and generally fuck stuff up

Mine wiggled a little and moved up and down a little bit. I don't have a green LED anymore. But other than that, the unit works as expected and I'm not worried. I've had my Evo since they first released it pretty much.

It was solid until someone twisted my hydratube on it after specifically saying don't twist. I was furious. Happened over a year ago.

I was gonna put in a claim for the green led but I don't really care and it works perfectly well so i can't be without it.

If anything happens I'll just order another one. It's way cheaper now then when all was said and done with my original cloud / Evo.

Thanks for the reassurance my man. Next time i'll take "like new" with a grain of salt...... LOL. I just wanted to ask here because the packaging was really shitty. Like REAL shitty. It was practically rolling around on the bottom of the box. I was pretty disappointed at the amount of no shits given this guy put into packing this item. There was even fcking little pieces of herb in the bowl WTF!!! I was infuriated and still am a little heated that this guy sent me that shit. I think ill call my Evo the "No shits given Evo" lolol

Both the lotus and FW3 do the same for me. Sometimes I just can't pick which one I want to choose and i'll use both. I'm 100% positive it's the same exact one you were looking at. Let us see some pics of that sexy Evo when it comes in tomorrow!

Hahaha right on man I'm glad that it went to a good guy your comments about the firewood and lotus make a lot of sense as they are both on demand convection just like my milaana which essentially does the same thing as my lotus but intead of controlling with a torch I control it with a button.. It is a great vape that will honestly miss. Pics of the EVO will be posted tomorrow

Broke my damn glass vapexnail last night . I had just taken it out of the evo at about 3:30 to clean, set it on the glass table and heard a POP! It snapped right where they all do, at the cut opening. I guess I need a 5 pack of quartz, sheesh those are overpriced. Hey @ataxian how are those Ti nails for the evo coming along, You should look into a Silicon Carbide alternative to Ti or quartz if you really want a custom nail. Tastier than quartz and much stronger plus better thermal properties. That's what these inserts for my enail are made out of.I have dropped these onto tile floor while glowing red hot and they didn't break! And they taste better and hold heat better than glass, quartz, or Ti!
I wonder if Vapexhale is looking into making nails out of this material like all of the cutting edge enail companies currently?
