Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

Recently I started noticing how my EVO would sometimes be harder to draw from - like there was an obstruction. I would inhale with more force, which would clear it out and return it to its wonderful effortless hits. Yay.

Last night, I was unable to clear the obstruction and now my EVO is looking pretty useless. When I look down the tube, I cannot see any light. The air path appears to be completely obstructed. Does anyone have any idea what I did to cause this problem, what I could do to fix it, and/or what I might do to avoid this problem in the future?

Thank You!

Perhaps the bamboo is clogged with some stray concentrate? Maybe use some iso to dissolve it? I'm not sure about this since I'm not really sure how you could be having this as a chronic issue without being really sloppy and I assume you aren't.

That's what I would say also , see if you can grab some extra long pipe cleaners or a long qtip and maybe poke it out with some alcohol .

Yeah, maybe. I wonder how the concentrate got in there and how I can clean it with ISO without ruining the electronics.

I was also wondering how the concentrate would get in there, especially since it's happened more than once. I think the electronics should be okay as long as the integrity of the bamboo hasn't been compromised somehow, but I haven't found it necessary to do this myself. The usual test for seeing whether the bamboo is intact is plugging it and blowing through it but that obviously isn't an option here. Get some more advice before acting. Maybe @stickstones could add his thoughts?

If you are careful (use a funnel if possible) you can fill up the bamboo with iso and let it soak. I think that concentrates really gunk up the middle of the bamboo due to the way the nail works, so occasional bamboo cleaning is probably necessary for VXN users. :2c:

:peace:

Thanks, everyone! I ended up gently, carefully, and lovingly poking the straight portion of a shirt hanger through it while on maximum heat. That seemed to help a lot. I also bought some pipe cleaners that I will use with some ISO tomorrow morning. That should give the ISO plenty of time to evaporate before tomorrow night... ;)

Two things could be causing this. One you could be loading to large of a dab into the nail. It only requires a pinhead amount. The second could be your draw is to strong causing oil to raise up the sides of the nail when you inhale. Or a combination of the two. When cleaning I take a paper towel and twist it and then stick it in the bottom of the bamboo. Then take a syringe and shoot 90%ISO into the top of the bamboo. I let it drain out the bottom onto the paper towel. Then take the ISO soaked paper towel and insert it into the top of the bamboo and twist it to clean the bamboo further. Then i just blow into the bamboo until the ISO evaporates and cut it in max. Then back to my preferred temp!

When the 9.5" comes in, definitely post your thoughts on it - I've had my eye on it as my "backup" in case my good one has an accident!

That piece arrived today and my thoughts are pretty much exactly the same as Kevea's.

I was one of the first to order this design and overall I'm happy with the quality. It seems to be a solid piece with some thicker than usual China glass. The recycle function doesn't work well at all due to it needing to be filled as high as possible to create a vortex and then it's very chuggy but, I'm not too worried about it. I usually fill it about a half inch above the perc and she purrs nicely. For $35 it's a great value however, it definitely needs a hydrafoot to be supplied as well.

Mine has some recycling action, but it's not very impressive. Glass quality is better on this than the other piece. This is less restrictive than the other, which is nice, and still seems to moisturize vapour nicely. Pretty decent all in all. If one wants excellent glass one should look elsewhere, but this is good if one is looking for a very cheap piece.

Oh, I do feel like I have to mention this: This one has no lower chamber to collect overflow. When I over filled it while trying to make it recycle better, it started some kind of suction action that emptied almost all of the water through the bottom hole, after I ended my draw. Imagine if it had been on a hot Evo... Caveat emptor, I suppose.

If that were placed on a hydra foot stand that plugged the bottom joint would one be able to use a vape inverted on top?

I'm looking for a piece that could function in that manner, I would love to hear your thoughts on the glass.

A Vaporizer not a bubbler could be inverted on the top joint if it were sitting on a hydrafoot. This piece can be used with two vaporizers attached

Thanks for the correction, I edited my post to reflect what I was after!

I really dig the utilitarian nature of glass like that. Do you have any bubblers that you could compare it's function or ease of draw to?

Thanks everyone! Yeah, I was a joint smoker (like 3 - 5 a day) for 15 years and the Evo is the vape that hits the closest. I've been lucky the last few months, my last two vapes (evo and guru) have been awesome! If this technology was around when I was a kiddo I may never have learned how to roll!

I thought I'd miss smoking joints. I don't.

I thought I'd miss the tobacco, the ritual, smoking it for a while - and I don't at all.

Does anyone remember what week from last year of April did VapeXhale start their 420 sale? I hope they do a repeat of last year's 30% off of starter kits. ;)

I think they start them around April 13/14. It's going to suck to have to wait 10 more days to order one!!

Amazing discovery. Apparently the Cloud Evo doubles as a Vapcap Heating Station:

I'm cross posting this video from the Vapcap thread...

Yeah, that's what finally made me pull the trigger on my VapCap order! (Ships 4/7, so I don't have to wait TOO MUCH longer)

Ok i just looked at my Cloud Evo and the bamboo is absolutely disgusting. I guess it was that month of wax that made it look like that.

Anyhow, I have seen people say cover it and funnel in some iso alcohol. But I'm afraid that wouldn't work that well. This seems caked on.

Anyone have any experience using a long q-tip w/ steel wool or some sort of cleaning brush?

What do you guys recommend? I don't expect it to be brand new clean, but I would like to clean it up a bit. I have decided I'm not going to do wax anymore, I'm a fan of the CO2 cartridges, so if I can get those, that would be best for me. And use regular in the cloud.

Long qtips work. They don't fit past the narrow part of the bamboo, but they can help with the areas you can reach.
