I'm using a broken stem with a piece of 3/8" Silicone Tubing from a @DDave kit so I can use it!

Thought about you today Ataxian. Wandered all over this place taking in the sites. One place I saw, the guy had hundres of pieces of glass, including gongs left right and center. Almost took a photo. But then I put my glasses on and saw the dollar signs. $35 dhgate pieces for over 200. I'm guessing he's selling it but I don't know why.

My NANO will get one MAX FLIGHT!

I breAK glass everyday!
Like a Greek Wedding!

I think I will have some custom water rigs made locally?
9mm and 7mm are better for me.
5mm and lower are worthless in my case!

At least we have COLAS for the NANO!

Ok, have to admit I just realized something I guess I've been denying...the worst thing about the nano is the wire. It's heavy and awkward.
eJYdb36.jpg

Imagine this warm smooth piece of wood with no wire. But a wireless piece of wood powered by a battery you charged wirelessly like a lumia phone.

What an amazing dream :cool::)

I agree the dimmer switch is the weak link with the nano. I wrap my cord around the chair arm and sometimes it falls to the floor, it's heavy and I don't have carpet, it's wood floors. I had noticed a tiny hairline crack on my switch. I used some clear fingernail polish on it to give it a seal. It seemed to work. I have another nano so I have an extra.

It would be awesome for the enano to be cordless. The heater is a powerhouse. It would have to be something like the Solo battery. I don't think the heater would be as powerful. You don't lose any heat level when you take a draw with the Enano. You do lose heat level with the a Solo. It's a trade off. Maybe someday a more powerful portable battery will be available.

I've been eyeing the Apollo portable. It's made with wood.

Edit
Medicating with some Trainwreck in the nano right now.
It's been raining everyday for about 3 weeks here in the beautiful Pacific N.W.
I'm ready for some sun.

I medicated as much as I can!
Love to medicate with cannabis!

I put a plug in my garden for the NANO.
Image the NANO all day long?

This my friend is evolution!

CANNABIS + NANO = CIVILIZED

I've been medicating for scientific reasons these days ;D

...and because i love medicating with cannabis as much as you do ;)

Exactly like a portable nano! Also it's been working out great, I'm getting 3-4 fantastic whitewalling rips out of .1 of this Lady Red I have! I love it!

I just cannot figure out how to put 0.1 into the gong?!

May I ask you which distance (from the screen to the heater core) you choose when vaping 0.1?

If I use the fixed gong (or the adjustable one with the screen set to about 15mm) I find it impossible to fill more than maybe 0.04 without touching the heater core. And even with a load like this I regularly charr the top of my load because it's too close. I try to flatten out the top with a glass poker, but this always ends up in a restricted airflow, which I don't like at all.

I am still struggling with load size / screen distance / restricted airflow , argh :(

Does the member who reports loading .1g have a scale that's accurate to within .01g? That's what would be required to accurately weigh .1g. Personally I wouldn't be trying to load .1g in a nano stem. It's just too much.

You'll get it figured out. Just takes some practice. You don't have to have an exact amount loaded nor do you have to load the same amount all the time. My loads vary and I just deal with it by adjusting the temp dial appropriately.

Lets all get on the same page, here is a cut and paste from the EpicVape site. https://epicvape.com/e-nano-user-guide/ Can you point out specific variations you are using compared the listed instructions. If so we might be able to suggest possible solutions.

  1. All vaporizers work on the principle of draw speed vs. temperature control. The faster you like to draw, the faster the air will flow past the ceramic heating element and the higher you will need your unit turned up. Other factors that can influence the volume of vapor you achieve will be the moisture content, quality and strain of your herb or tobacco. Here are some guidelines to get you started. You can also view the instructional videos at www.epicvape.com/videos.
  2. Load small nuggets of your favorite herb or leaf tobacco directly into the glass stem nearest the screen side. Only a small amount is necessary, less than .05g. will be fine. Grinding is not necessary.
  3. Turn the dial all the way up for 1-2 minutes to pre-heat the unit then turn the dial down to about 6-6.5.
  4. Pick the E-Nano up and hold it horizontal with your glass stem so your herb doesn’t fall out. Place the glass stem gently onto the stainless steel heater core. You can begin to inhale immediately. Proper inhalation technique feels like you are sipping warm tea. At this temperature you will experience the most flavor from your herb with very little visible vapor.
  5. Turn the dial up to 7-7.5 and take another draw. With very little practice you will begin to find the sweet spot for your herb or tobacco.
  6. After a few puffs, use the enclosed E-PIK to stir your herb up a little. NOTE: The end of the glass stem that comes in contact with the heater core will be HOT and could cause severe burns.
  7. Check the color of the herb in the glass. It should begin to turn brown in color. If you notice black spots in the spent herb it means the temperature is too high or you are not inhaling fast enough. You can keep turning the dial up until the spent herb is the color of roast coffee.
  8. After your session is over turn the unit off. NOTE: Leaving the unit on will not harm the unit, but it is never a good idea to leave heated appliances on and unattended.

I go by feel mostly.

However 0.10 of a gram doesn't fit in a NANO stem?

I'll weight some and check.

I had to start getting 1/2 oz's since 1 oz was way too much?
As a young gun 1/4 pound sack's were normal.
Vaporizing consumes less than Combustion!

Mixing tobacco with cannabis is gross!

It's sunny and warm everyday and we welcome rain!

My dial I use a rubber band to keep it on my setting. (sweet spot)
To change it is really easy actually.
However I just deal with it!

Oranges vs. Apples to compare a portable with a plug-in?

Same with my state!

I used velcro "strap" loop type deal to hold the cord/dial to the lamp I vape in front of. That way it's never touched and I can look at it with an easy glance.

Hmm, I pretty much always use my e-nano at my desk and I have velcro straps. I think I'll try strapping the dial to a desk leg when I get home.
It really does work great. I always found my dial spinning over so i couldn't see it, or sliding behind something, got really annoying. Raising it off the ground (table) was the best decision.

Hey, thanks for your input @max & @howie105 & @ataxian !:)

Honestly, it is indeed a lot more comfortable to pack the gong by feel than to weight out exactly let's say 0.1 g. But on the other hand, I have to admit that I am a little nerdy when it comes to this - I weight my doses and keep accounting and so I always have an overview of how much I consume.

So maybe it is irrelevant to know the exact amount of herb you use but what frustrates me increasingly is the fact that I fail in getting long lasting big cloud-draws with my E-Nano so far.

The results I am getting so far are pretty good, no question. It tastes really good, but sometimes I need these big big hits and I have not been able so far to get these kind of hits from my bubbler.

I've tried some different settings, but a normal session for me is like:

I pack a little amount of ground herb in the gong. I just sprinkle it over it, don't pack it. With the shorter side of the e-pick I check that the heater is not touching the top of the load.
Then I put the gong onto my bubbler, the E-Nano's temperature is about 7. I place the Nano onto the gong and wait for like 20-30s before i hit. The glass milks immediately, thick vapor is being produced, but at the point where the bubbler is completely filled (I have a D020-like bubbler) the vapor production stops.
Then i stir the load and get another (mostly) airy draw, most of the time the 2nd hit is unnecessary for me.

Looking at the ABV: I would say it looks okay. But most of the time I find green spots in it. Regularly dark brown ones as well, kind of pre-combusted particles I guess.

So, conclusion: For me, this is normal I would say :D I wouldn't expect to get much more vapor from a tiny amount of herb like this. I mean, I can lower the screen and pack more. That works and I get a slightly bigger draw but I have never had a session where the 2nd hit was milking the glass more than the first.

I've seen that hundred times on video and basically that is true convection behavior. I know this, since I use several other convection vaporizers as well ;)

First draw - flavor. 2nd draw more vapor, etc.

But unfortunately, I am not able to get a session like this.

I spend exactly the same amount of herb like before, and that frustrates me a little.

Maybe I was expecting wonders, I think I was, yes. But when i read things like "0.025 gave me 4 white walling hits" I wonder what I do wrong here :D
0.025 gives me exactly ONE hit- maybe a second - read above.

Sorry if this all sounds like a rant, it is definitely not meant to be !!

If I didn't read all these comments about its incredible efficiency I maybe wouldn't have been questioning anything here.
But this at least leaves me a little bit bewildered :-/

You know you've loaded too much, if you have restricted draw. If that's the case just take a little out and resume your session. If your cannabis vapor feels too harsh turn down the heat. If you aren't experiencing enough flavor turn the heat up. You are in the drivers seat with the nano.

The Enano is definitely a flavor maker.

White walling a bubbler is so dependent on the light source. Blow an exhale into a lamp. Makes it look crazy!! Different lung capacities. I grew up on blunts and giant bongs and gravity bongs and other nonsense. Enano beats them all. Lovin it tonight. Baked on some green crack.

Oh jeez am I the user that loads .1? Did I cause the last like page of discussion? I'm a little baked right now, so excuse me if this is off. Also I'll try to post a video of the bubbler in action, I wanna give it a cleaning and then I'll show you guys.

edit: reread it all, still pretty high.

I may have rounded up, I don't own a scale so for me, what I load, looks like more more .05 and less than .1g of finely ground somewhat moist bud, from what I remember. I just kind of estimate, it's not that difficult.

Drawer slower!!
Will make a more even burn, hold heat better, and hold your milk out longer.
May need to turn temp down if pulling slower finds to be too hot for you. Slower the better...to an extent. Not incredibly slow, but slow down, and be very consistent with your inhale. Good results. Let me know if this doesn't help.

OK, I decided to actually weigh how much I was putting in my GonGs since I always just eyeball my loads. With a scale accurate to .01g (verified with calibration weights) I measured my two evening loads yesterday to each be .13g . I'll add some pictures of what that looks like when I get home, I still get great results, so I don't think I'm choking it.

EDIT: The aforementioned pictures:

I velcroed the dial to the desk leg:

Here is empty weight:

And filled weight:

.13 again. I have some consistent eyeballing/grinding.

I just got the enanao last week and already I think it is the best vaporizer I've ever used. My only complaint is the stiff power cord. Like a poster, above, I've velcro-ed the cord to the table so it won't drag the log off the table. I'm thinking of switching out the cord from the pot control to the log with a spiral cord from an electric shaver like this one to make the log easier to use.
