Discontinued The Grasshopper

I'm just thinking that any improvement over the first iteration will be mind boggling.

Agreed, but I think they should focus on durability/longevity first in order for their lifetime warranty to not bite them in the ass. I nominate @stickstones to be the GHL's leading frontman for warranty contact like the MiniVap!

Just wondering if you could elaborate on the cosmetic issues?

My SS GH has cosmetic imperfections in the tune of some manufacturing scratches. Nothing major, and even with my OCD not enough to bother me...... function over aesthetics is all I care about at this point!

I'm torn between blue Ti and plain silver Ti.
I just can't help but think the colour models would look tacky after some scratches, where as with a plain silver Ti the scratches would be less apparent.

Me too! Every single anodized grinder (including SC, SCS) that i've owned always ended up scratching/chipping the colour away. Tough decision! Leaning toward the regular Ti myself I think!

So mine finally arrived. The only cosmetic issue is that "purple" isn't very purple. It's more grey with a very slight purplish tinge to it. Other than that, the fit and finish is pretty good. There is a very slight gap up by the temp. dial, I think other people have remarked on that. The threading is pretty smooth on mine.

But on to the important stuff- this thing works really well! I'm not one to step up temperatures or try to eke out every last bit. My main vape is an Underdog, through a small bubbler- I like to take a huge, full-spectrum hit, and don't bother with what's left over once the taste is gone. I have the GH set on 4. Vapor can get a little hot and dry towards the end of a long hit, but it's not too bad. With single hits, there is no issue of the mouthpiece getting too hot on your lips, I haven't even taken the condom out of its bag (though I'll give it a try when I check out using it through the bubbler). Taste is good, maybe not quite as good as a huge rip on the UD, but no complaints.
The efficiency of this thing is amazing. A teensy pinch makes a big cloud. It doesn't take much technique- you definitely want to hit it hard, not sip it. My wife, who has kind of diminished lung capacity, was able to get a big hit on her first try, no problem with the draw at all. My daughter and her boyfriend were over, and everyone was impressed. I think using it as a one hitter is the way to go, gives it a chance to cool off between hits.
Just hope it keeps working....!

Any one know( for sure and confirmed) what Hopper Labs address is for returning a faulty unit?

That would be @slcbdco straight treatin himself with fresh pinches since 2015

And still straight treatin into 2016! Not only is the Grasshoppper my primary and go to device, I was at parties over the holidays and actually found myself turning down hits off joints in favor of vaping! I still smoke cigs occasionally and combust cannabis more occasionally but the Grasshopper is definitely turning me into a vapor snob!

To that end I highly recommend pairing a GH with a MF orbiter ... SCRATE TREATIN!

You bastard! That was supposed to be MY GH! :rofl:You just beat me to it with your Cano over my Crafty! Anyway, looks like we're both in the same boat with hopper's anyway....sick bay!

Apparently @61reissue has had a few of these? :o
Hahahaha!! Even funnier is I traded him a crafty before. Just wait until you have all Temps on your gh. Remember the mv?yeah its that tasty...somehow I always end sup on 4 or 5 though

My bad, it was supposed to be my Mighty, not Crafty. You are stating that the GH vapour is MV tasty? WOW! I think the MV is the best tasting vape i've ever tried!

I only have mine that I got about a month and 1/2 or so..lol.

My bad, maybe it was someone else that said they have had 10 of them due to warranty claims?

If the correspondence was to you I don't see why you would need permission. But ya, don't risk them being mad and sticking you with another dud!

i think it's a forum rule, and i pretty much paraphrased most of what was included in the generic explanation of tips & tricks! lol

Yes, it's a forum rule.

Just curious as I comb through the tomb.... can any give a ballpark estimate of how many of us actually have GH's? Is it like 10 or 20....or more? Just actual FC backers... I understand there are about 3000 out in the wild?

Also for those with a SS AND a Ti.....are there actually differences in performance as stated?

A while back I mentioned my Purple would get "stained" or printed temporarily with my fingerprints when being used or handled, here is a picture I took that shows it off pretty well.

Any chance you could get a pic of the gap by the dial? Hopefully that is a positive change and not just unnecessary cosmetic unpleasantness

@tubasco just upload to imgur.com, then copy the bb code (drop down menu) and paste it in the text box here. There are instructions in the general discussion thread or somewhere else

Last of the backers? So there were 300 before, they've sent some, but building 100 a day now, but can't start pre orders before the end of January? Just hoping to finish backers by then? Maybe there will be a new pre order email update soon with extra "info" as they've done in the past. New website and shipping estimate updates perhaps?!

@biohacker disappointed they wouldn't let you keep what you have to use in the meantime, and just send you a back end. But they should be replacing the Hoppers if production has changed that much maybe? Maybe eventually they will do that down the line, for now they need to get more stock?

Almost there...
@biohacker

This made me a believer!!

@paytonpenn
That is normal for anozided Ti.
We use it for medical implants and it behaves the same way.
The color is achieved by running the Ti through a current while submerged in a caustic liquid.
It just changes the surface characteristics of the metal and nothing else.
Slightly harder and more resilient but not smudge proof or finger oil proof!
Just one of those things...

I'm over it, and it only works intermittently seemingly anyway so it's all cool! They want the battery and charge cable too so it will go out on monday.

Me too! (Sound at 5:15 is hilarious!)

Is there supposed to be a price increase after pre-orders? Just debating between buying a preorder now, or waiting until my GH returns to decide.
