Vapman

A quick question to anyone who uses Vapman+Station with a bubbler: wich setting and how many heating cycles are you using? Do you connect it with a hose and draw while it's sitting on the heater or do you take it off the station and connect it wood on glass?

I vape it with this little fellow.
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapman.94/page-188#post-874434
Normally on pos. 4 for weed and 5 or 6 for hash or extracts. It gives between 3 to 5 rounds per bowl.

The page 188 is anyway a very interresting and remarkable page with vapmans prototype und nuggs endless waterpipe. ;-)

Sometimes, I wish to have all these helpful links in the first post of this thread. If we make together such a link-collection, what do you think all, a Mod would be so kind to add this to the first post, like a little "best of"?

It's too early for me, with the talk of the Vapman being a great personal/intimate vaporizer, I was wholly expecting a little person who you vape with

That's a cool setup though! I always get really lack luster results with my Vapman through water. It direct draws better than any of my other butanes IMO, but I can't really get it down with a water pipe...more a personal problem as I can see you guy's do it with great success :)

My new walnut basic after a light sand and a quick carnauba wax. This one is a dedicated station only vapman.

It's hard with a torch not to want to keep pushing it and you skate combusting, but with a Station set at 4 and a quarter or so, it's perfect cloud thickness for a bubbler.

Thanks all for the suggestion, I tried yesterday night with my bubbler, loose loaded bowl, two cycles on 6. Clouds production is not nearly what I had with the torch but the flavor is in another league and the overall results are extremely satisfying. Tried connecting the Vapman both ways, still have to decide wich method I prefer. Then I loaded a normal bowl and vaped it dry with the station set on 2 and it lasted forever, I'm really amazed by the efficiency increase using the station.

Actually kinda the opposite problem for me, I tend to ride my Vapman sessions for a while and never push the temps too hard...imagine the mouthpiece part would be a real PITA to clean smoke taste out of, and while I get good hits with my torch technique dry hitting, can never milk a bubbler. I start to edge on combustion towards the end of my Vapman sessions as is, basically when I start to taste a bit of a char, I stop and its all vaped...can't have that same taste technique with a bubbler.

I am sure I can learn a method and amount of time and draw technique that would give me solid results, but when I wanna use a butane vape with water I just use my Lotus :) which I have combusted in before and it was a right pain in the ass getting rid of the taste in the WPA, which is why I'm so apprehensive of potentially combusting with the Vapman as that seems tougher to clean IMO.

That is gnarly about the station though..they look pretty nice. Not a toy I can unfortunately justify buying, the Vapman is the portable I use the most around the house actually, and thats cause of all the hands on playing and stuff I can do with it while vaping :)

Actually i find wood the most forgiving and easy to get rid of bad taste .. a bowl later and its all forgotten.

Much better than ssv tubing ... tastes horrible for ag3s if you go too far.

With water you have to look at your bubbler to see how thick of vapor your getting if you use the torch with it. Kind of how the MFLB has that window. I like using the Station dry, but feel very confident w the torch. Wet I still hesitate to torch it, and feel much better with the Station.

To anyone who says the Vapman is not discrete, bugger that! Had to park a few blocks away from bar because it's real crowded for the game, cup it in your hand and light while walking down the street, cup in hand and hit. Maybe I have big hands :) but I felt like no one driving past was any the wiser

That's part of it for sure, but another problem is the sound of the lighter. There's been at least one longish discussion on trying to find silent lighters that don't use flint and then don't make 'torch noise' and yet give a confined flame.

Given the right 'cover' it's fine, but it does have serious stealth issues sometimes.

Glad it worked well for you.

Much easier than the Lotus or Hammer tho for sure :) good luck concealy hitting either of those!

I'd be interested in a soundless lighter, I always just figured the "shhhhhhhh" sound was to be expected ;)

Was able to loosen the screw holding the leg and move it a touch. Got it basically back in place, moves out sometimes but with the MP on its easily moved into place. Havnt noticed it affecting performance. Getting two more vapman just in case! Have a feeling this will be the daily driver for a while.

ops , i made a mistake posting.... what i wantet to say was that the same thing happened to my Vapman - one pipe came off the pan, i fixed it and hope it lasts .
Its just 2andhalf monts old.:uhoh:

Did you manage to move it back into place? Mine has held up fine, do you know how it moved?
the pan startet to have some play after a mont and than one day when i was cleaning it (gently) the pan got liftet of the pipe.I pushed it back and losend the screw to pusht the pipe a little.Since than it stayed and has less play.

Did a bit of experimenting and I definitely prefer to directly connect the Vapman to my bubbler skipping the silicone tubing. I find that vapor production is the same and I also find inconvenient having the hose pulling my Vapman around. Very satisfied with the Station, it's making my new year resolution of not buying vapes for 2016 tolerable.

It's only been 11 days, there's still time! With my recent vapman purchase (still otw) i'm trying to hold off till Zion comes out.

Then again I was doing that before I ordered my nano AND my vapman lol.

I don't really need to spend more money on vapes as I have every possible need covered with what I already own, at home or portable. That said I still can invest in other vape related stuff, just ordered a Grav Labs J-Hook to use with my Vapman when hitting it dry, original plastic mouthpiece is great for portability but I prefer a longer vapor path for at home use. Plus, glass is freaking cool.

I agree, I started to use a glass joint filter as a mouthpiece...I do like the feel.

My vapman personally likes to keep it minimal
I have 5 major vapes in rotation now. All acquired since first my high quality session in September. I have to slow down!
This is probably the most difficult time for me personally in VAS history.. I want another vapman, a zion, a grasshopper, the 7th floor sidekick and a daisy...fml.

I was thinking to buy a MFLB stem to use with my Vapman but the J-Hook looks better for couch use and I hope the added length will help cooling the vapor. I appreciate the original mouthpiece for portability and ease to clean but the feel isn't very satisfying.

I was considering a Grasshopper for stealth use but I'll wait some more time to see how the whole thing evolves.
Also I've dedicated my piggy bank to savings for a future acquisition of a Sublimator, still my dream vape.
And of course a new Vapman to be used only with the Station, maybe one in some cool wood.

I didn't even mention I have four more to choose from. Two more I like, but only bring out occasionally, and two more I don't like that I would gift if they weren't so hard to clean and I knew anyone local who vaped.

A wooden mflb stem is great in the vm. Cools a good amount. The glass ones are good but cooling is much less. A J hook would be sweet I'm sure, might get some nice visual feedback on vapour productions too

I like wood stems generally, but especially when there is already wood in the airpath like in the Vapman and MFLB. It's cool that those two use the same stems. Glass really has a great taste, but wood is very cool in it's own right. Except for my EVO (which would defeat that vapes purpose) all my main vapes have @Ed's TnT and (when available) stock wood mouthpieces. Cool that some are making Ed's the stock wood mouthpiece like Haze.

I like wood for vaporizer bodies but prefer glass for the airpath. My dream piece would be a 14mm glass midsection for the Vapman. One question for the other Station owners or perhaps René himself: is the temperature selector fully analog? I mean, does something like a 2.5 setting exists or is either 2 or 3?
