Discontinued Zion vaporizer

Can you tell me precisely what it is that you are contending? I don't understand what point you're trying to make relating to the Zion.

:peace:
It difficult without seeing for myself but it's power regulated not temp regulated . How do u know what temp u r weed is vaping at

Again how do we explain users getting to ignition temps (500-700 C) with it?:bang:
Those temperatures are wrong. Auto ignition can happen under 500F (that's Fahrenheit, not Celsius.)

We discussed this earlier in thread tonight. Few ppl mentioned they have done this in convection vapes on max voltage.
You are the only one in this thread that has claimed those temperatures. Everyone else is telling you that your figures are wrong and you keep ignoring them. Your numbers are wrong.

Sorry I was exaggerating on ignition temps but why not if it's power regulated the heater will heat up beyond those temps

You don't know! It's power regulated but still manual. There is a community of those who desire exact temp then there are those who don't care for it. I personally don't care what the exact temprature is and for those of us like that, the Zion is going to be a game changer for sure.

The same way my frying pan doesn't give me an exact temp but we have been cooking meat for over 100000 years. Some like it rare some like it well done.... And you know if it's burnt.
Funny enough tho burnt meat is bad for u....carcinogenic

 this should all totally be in a new manual vs automatic vs conduction vs session vape discussion thread...

@DopeShow have you heard of the MFLB(though conduction)? The LSV? (If not look em up, along with Firefly, Elevape, Thermovape, Cloud Evo...) This is like those two combined, simple materials and function yet full power, regulated open loop, can't measure load temp but richer full bodied hits (Daisy is the ultimate for this imo). The most powerful vaporizers tend to be those without precision temp control (save for a couple), I'm sure the future will bring it though it is not necessary to get full enjoyment with experience!

I terms of raw horse power with more temp control and instant heatI think something with a zion heater... more regulation and plug in would really start to be like a e-nano/Evo hybrid.

In my opinion, when it comes to power in a vape, it is better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. I am a vape professional (vapefessional?) and I want to decide how fast i drive. Not the manufacturer. Me. If i want to go full throttle 0 to 100 in a few seconds i want the power. But if i want to drive slow, or pop on easy cruise control, there is a time and place for that too.

As far as precise temps are concerned, the only vape i know that actually lists and holds temp with real accuracy is the Herbalizer. Cool vape. But i have plenty of vapor experience to know what i like, and as long as i can get that type of vapor i want with consistency i honestly don't care what temp i am at. I just enjoy the ride.

Edit. Also water extract, dry sift, BHO, shatter, ect. Is enjoyed by many vaporists at higher temps than flower. I do like the Herbalizer but i want a little more punch with my shatter and bubble.

But I like it!
When I saw the '500-700c combustion temps' I assumed he was mixing vaping with dabbing, but I'm a rank n00b at it so what do I know? I know I like vaping, and for the past few days I've been consistently overfilling a glass Heat Island tube, and when stretching for just that once last sip of vapour #BLAMMO# the glass tube fills full of white smoke, and I plug the top and bottom of the tube til it stops burning my finger. I check my ABV - the bit of ash/black goes in with the abv to get filtered out of whatever it might wind up in.

And I wanna see how fast I can build up my ABV collection with Team Zion (my team of 2 to start with, although I agree it's really real @IAmKrazy2 (I just choose to pretend it's not, so I'm not on another preorder, if'n ya know what I mean? : ) )

@phattpiggie With some of those designs you were tossing around, and some of the recent changes and revelations, the idea of having a small fan-assisted Zion-ite is really not a huge stretch any more (he says, talking about a vape that only exists in Beta, but anticipation is, well, something from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I digress, but with reason (see below). Anyhoo - the other reason I held off on TOD is because there are so many great skin options that one of each shape will be required in the collection, because just like different-shaped pasta - each shape has a signature flavour. And like W&W treats, it's pretty hard to stop at one... ;)

Sorry - I just rediscovered a weenie glass-globed pen and some Purple Candy live resin, and it's really not what I expected... Not bad by any stretch, I just really didn't know what to expect, and it certainly lived up to that expectation!

And bump.

I should have left this thread when I had a chance, but no... it had to pull me back in again... @phattpiggie sieve screen would fit pretty nicely in a 3 gallon metal tin... I'm sure the tech is capable of scaling upwards for the heater... need something bigger than a 19mm connection, perhaps a custom 185mm joint, for a nice large J-hook? Or maybe to a header mechanism, feeding 15 or 20 gas masks at a vape lounge somewhere. It should be a dimly lit cross between an 80s singles bar and a noodle bar in Bladerunner... Or maybe a milk bar a'la Clockwork Orange?

K, thats enough bumping for one night. Play safe and have fun :)

FFS you get an early nite and look at all the fun you miss. I will read it all again and give most of you a lovely slightly charred but unburnt like when I get a chance.

As long as we all know we are flirting with combustion now.:science:
Thanks for all the help didn't mean to knock on this vaporizer specifically it makes sense to me now I clarified a few points. May have gone a little hard on the LSD skunk last night.

@DopeShow it's the nature of the beast I'm afraid! Almost all convection vapes have the ability to combust, with one exception that I know of, the HA! And with that vape people often say they would like higher temps!

I wouldn't worry about it too much bud, if you can dodge combustion with your v tower (I assume it has the ability to combust like the eq), I don't see why you can't do the same with the Zion too.

My pet hate with convection is stirring! If someone can invent a convection vape that doesn't need stirring. That person would have my cash in a heartbeat lol.

Glad to hear it's full steam ahead with the Zion again tho, good luck to RBT and the crew! Those that asked for refunds must be pissssed! I would be, but luckily I suffer from chronic VAS!!!

People have said the grasshopper doesn't need stirring. And though not pure convection, my Crafty doesn't need stirring either. So pay up!;)

I made a small "boat propeller" looking device for my lsv that inserts where the load goes into the male side of a male to female gong , with the load screen on the top of the female end and the weed in the middle. It spins the herb in a vortex and it will not combust. It gets the popcorn taste after a while and gets dirty quick. No stir needed.

Here and a pic

Yeah GH (and Evo!) but Zion can get away without stirring depending on the load. The production heater is supposed to be even better at this, I look forward to finding out for myself :brow:

Haha I have a crafty! That is marketing bs imo. If you use the same logic, almost every vape is a hybrid of some sort. For a vape to be truly hybrid it will need two heaters, imo of course!

As for the grasshopper, they've already got my cash! But yeah that would be a dream if it didn't need stirring.

To me, that's the ONLY way!

Anyone hear from RBT lately? Still expecting an early spring release? On one of his last posts I saw him mention Feb 2015... I can only hope. I think im going to attempt to NOT buy another electric portable until the Zion comes out, flame/butane powered is another story :sherlock:.

Firewood 3, miVape, MiniVap, Elevape Smart and Zion. All these vapes do not require stirring...more so with the first 3 as they have capsules and you can't stir them midsession if you wanted to. Perhaps Firefly should be on this list as well but I have never used one.

I feel like the last 12 hours or so of this thread belong in the "can convection produce clouds thread" or something although I don't think we went that far off topic of the Zion really, it's just good universal information.
