Eating ABV - trip report.

A question for anyone: In your mind, when does weed become ABV?

Does weed become ABV once you can no longer get clouds at a certain temperature?

Does weed become ABV once it starts tasting different?

Does weed become ABV once it turns a particular color?

Anything I haven't thought of?

I know my question may depend on what vape you use, but I'm just hoping to find out anything, largely so maybe I can get this eating ABV thing right. Whatever you have to say that may seem like a relevant response to my question, please go ahead and say it.
I'm betting you almost get the same amount of different answers to this one, as people who reply.

For me, it actually varies depending on what I am seeking or what I need in a particular session.
* sometimes vape low and dump in ABV container if dont feel like revaping later.
* other times vape low and revape later high.
* or vape till reaching desired effects, then dump.
* or vape till no vapor at high temp.

For me, it absolutely varies all the time.

If my ABV is too dark I throw it away. I keep the lighter ABV for edibles. I usually have ABV to save. Sometimes I'm really medicated and lose track. I use the E Nano a lot. It doesn't shut off like the Solo. I have a lot of AbV saved, several ounces.

My definition;
bud becomes ABV when you decide to discontinue vaping it.
That might happen at 360 F sometimes and 445 F other times.

Both would be ABV BUT the 445 ABV would be fully vaped (still some goodies available thru edibles)
The 360 F ABV would be very slightly vaped and it's goodies would be available thru further vaping OR a more potent stock for edibles.

Very helpful responses. Thank you.

So I should expect considerably different results from the ABV I am accumulating, which has mostly never been above 356, compared to the ABV I swallowed the other day?

I vape the herb as long as I feel like, depending on what effects I seek. More often than not I'm a high temp guy, and I end up with dark abv like yours. We even have the same box

I make this into coconutoil caps, and they give me a great body buzz, alieviates minor pains and helps with sleep, appetite as well as mild muscle relaxing properties.

Sometimes the ABV is lighter, and the caps are more akin to regular canna caps.

Btw love your signature

If you mean, "Came to read about grinders; fucked combustion," I just changed that today.

It's true. Even after participating on these boards for a few weeks, I had never vaped. Then it hit me all of a sudden that my lungs hurt like hell most of the time, but especially when smoking. I was sick of it. Suddenly it made total sense to vaporize instead of combust. So I did a little research and soon ordered an Aromed (in July). Then I ordered an Air a few weeks later. Love them both.

The two vaporizers I own are the only two vaporizers I've ever seen in person.

Yes, ABV only vaped at 356 F would be way stronger than ABV vaped at 445 F. Edibles made from 356 F herb would be much stronger.

FYI, I sometimes start at 325 or 350 and then vape at 375, 390, 410, 425, and then 445 to finish.
350 ABV has a LOT of goodies left in it.

I never take my eq above 230 in the elbow or 220 in cyclone. And my avb is potent. Yesterday's brownies still wearing off now. Vaping is so fucking amazing. Who knew I could get high so many times from the same weed. I even quite like the taste of the avb in chocolate cake. Avb becomes avb once you've eaten it. Caus then you definately can't vape it again.

Thanks for all the responses. Very helpful.

Now if I could only get anyone to interact with me in the Aromed thread. It gets pretty old when post after post is from the same person (me). It's a shame, too, because there's not much useful information out there about the Aromed, even though it's awesome.

For some reason I seem to get smart in my long, warm baths. In today's bath, it occurred to me that not fully vaping my herbs is not necessarily the same thing as wasting herbs. Because not-fully-vaped ABV will have stronger effects than fully-vaped ABV, when eaten. Am I on the right track?

The less goodies you extract via vaping, the more that remain for edibles

^^^I'm kind of slow sometimes (or really slow all the time). My cognitive skills have pretty much left me. I have a hard time retaining new information. I try really hard to remember and understand important things people have said, but I'm just not very good at it anymore.

It will happen again. Sorry.

Within the last hour I impulsively decided to consume some ABV that has been vaped pretty much exclusively at 356°F. I ground the stuff into powder and filled four capsules, which I swallowed at about 9:30 PM EDT. This was shortly after eating salmon for dinner, followed by a chocolate chip muffin.

At first I was thinking about doing this tomorrow, but then I just decided to do it now.

There are slow dissolving capsules. Should allow the capsule to pass your stomach and dissolve in the intestine. If that is the cause of the reflux, something like this should take care of it...
Thanks, that is a possibility. But how about digestion? Do we know that stomach acid is not needed to break down the ABV before our bodies can use it?

I had four capsules left this morning of the ABV I ground last night. I decided to go ahead and swallow them this morning, along with a capsule of the ABV I ground and processed two or three weeks ago. At about the same time, I ate a small spoonful of coconut oil and a chocolate-chocolate chip muffin, and I finished the remaining 12 oz or so of the smoothie I made last night, which contained coconut oil and avocado.

No apparent results.

Even though almost all of the ABV I swallowed last night and this morning was vaped exclusively at 356, I also vaped most of it for as long as I could at that temperature. I don't know if that makes a difference.

I guess my next step is to institute a two-session limit on my Arizer Air, at 356°F exclusively. (I usually use fairly well-packed stems with my Air, which can easily last three or four sessions.)

Right now I am inclined to think my difficulties with medicating are related to my poor circulation and possibly months of being hungry and malnourished. I've been trying really hard the last couple weeks to take much better care of myself, but it's hard to say with any certainty that it has helped at this point. So I guess I'm just going to have to keep trying.
