The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Hey guys,

I've had my Arizer Extreme Q for a few months now. Quick question though:

When settling in for the night and using the whip, is it okay to leave the bowl on the unit without turning the temperature down for extended periods? Or does the bud still get vaporised and wasted during those periods? Is it necessary to block the whip off when not using?

The same is true of doing bags, I guess. Although I usually do take the bowl off between filling bags - but is this necessary?

I guess what I'm asking is, does the bud still get vaporised when sitting on the unit, even when there is no fan on or no suction from the user?

Someone can probably give u a more scientific answer but IMO yea ull waste good hits...when using the whip with no fan i see some vapor slipping out if i dont thumb it closed...so im guessing yeaa.

I always take it off in between bags...(unless your with a few friends moving quickly through bags, then i think the amount of vapor your losing is minimal and i leave it there to make it easier for bag #2)

i never use one elbow pack twice with the whip..but f i were too i would deff take it out. Im guessing youre elbow packing?

Overall the EQ isnt really a conduction vape but i think its smart to remove the buds if your not hitting it

Someone chime in with some science facts and stuff!

Yes heat rises so you always be cooking your herb a bit when it's just sitting. I would take it off. The only time i leave my herb there is while using it and i also like to preheat it for about 30 sec before i start my session. Some here don't do that and some do, but i wouldn't just leave it there on the heat bc you'll be cooking off all the good stuff.

If you watch the whip under the right lighting conditions you'll see a thin wisp of vapour escaping when you're not hitting the EQ. I always kept my thumb on the whip when I wasn't hitting my Extreme because of this, however this was more OCD than out of necessity. The amount that escapes is trivial. I believe that it is not coming from leaving the bowl in place, rather it is vapour left in the whip after hitting it. You could test this by removing the whip and clearing it after a hit, but to be honest I don't recall ever trying that.

As for removing the bowl between hits, I wouldn't do this because that sucker gets pretty hot. I wouldn't want to handle it and I don't believe the loss is worth the fuss.

i've never used the whip, i love the bag. my pot is pretty decent and i rarely want more than one bag per hour or so. i usually go 2 hours in between bags.

if i filled the cyclone bowl, i would do 2 bags. i didn't want to do 2 bags in a row or have to take the bowl off in between bags. i didn't want to leave the bowl on because it would be heating up the pot so, after some experimenting, i decided to only put enough pot for one good bag of vape into the bowl. so each time i put pot into it, it's just one bags worth. for me, this is about 1/10th of a gram.

i never touch the bowl when it's hot. i use a large tweezer type thing to lift the bowl off, empty it and put it back on.
i know me and getting high and being around hot glass could be a problem.

i bought their newer cyclone bowl that is surrounded with heat resistant silicone. i haven't tried it yet.

Did anyone answer you? If not Australian Vaporizers is the best place to buy from in my opinion.
I've purchased from them several times & they're wonderful to deal with. They sell the EQ & have super fast shipping & excellent customer service if you have a problem. Maybe you can find the same vaporizer cheaper overseas but once you factor in shipping, exchange rate & waiting time it seems silly. Good luck.

Thanks dude, I was going to order one the other day at $216 but the next day the promo had ended and it's up near $300 again. I only want to pay the lower end of the price mark now on principle.. Haha.

Also, does anyone know how to tell the difference between models? There are ads for 'brand new 2013/14/15 Extreme Q' all with exactly the same description and pictures!?

Hey bros!
Just got my sweet new Extreme Q after being a slave to the combustion world for 9 years. Been waiting to make the plunge for quite a while, until this sweet little machine popped up "new" for $50!

Been using it for most of the night and just had a few questions!
I've heard I'm going to get hooked on attachments. Which ones would you recommend?
The first thing I'd like to replace would be the cyclone bowl for something smaller - any alternatives?

Look forward to reading through all these posts!

Thanks a lot!

Search this thread for elbow packing, you fill the small cup like screen instead of the whole Cyclone bowl.

I hadn't really thought of getting one but the Arizer Extreme Q is for sale on Massdrop for $129-$149. That seems like a good price. Sorry if I don't read the whole thread. It looks like most people like their Extreme Q. I've never used whips or bags- I have an UD and a Solo. Can someone summarize what the cons are to buying this?

Can someone who elbow packs with the stock bowls suggest temps for the elbow pack?

has anyone bought the new GonG bag filler from the Arizer site?

Hey!

I'd like to purchuase an Air soon next to my EQ and i liked to make an upgrade to my EQ at the same time when i'll buy the Air. Sorry for the question i'am sure, it was asked & answered before.

So the upgrade is buy the easiest water tool to for the Q. It would be something minimalist, my intention is use the vape with something like an f-bomb but without adapters if its possible.
The f-bomb or whatever would be attached next to the glass cyclone bowl, then directly to the glass elbow adapter with the tubing, than inhaling the water filtered vapor through the normal silicon tubing with the glass MP.

What should i buy to can make this?

Ay mane....my advice to u to keep ot as simple as possible wud be to grab another stock EQ elbow....EQ elbows on blth sides of sillicone...then ANY 18mm waterpipe that youlike...

An FC favorite is the D020 with is 30$ shipped from china but you would think it was 150 $ atleast!

Another is the FC187 with is an upgraded D020..

Search these terms on Dhgate.com!

Also...an F bomb and a 14mm male to 18 mm male will work so you can put the bubble right ontop of yor EQ and turn it into a vapobong

Fill the screen of your elbow joint with just enough kief so that when you mash it down with the blunt end of your glass poker, it's just enough to totally cover the bottom of the screen. It may help to stack screens here. If you'd like more screens, I think if you Google EZ Load Bowls you'll find them.

Now place a small dab of concentrate on top of the kief, making sure it sticks to the kief.

I'm sure you know what to do from here.

Hello FC! I've been lurking this forum for about two months now and I've read this entire Extreme Q thread! Seriously, it was a great read for Extreme Q owners. About one month ago (still hadn't finished the thread) I ordered an EQ from aroma tek on a Wednesday night at 2 am. It was at my house in Florida that friday at 3pm!

lAOy7NF.jpg

I pretty much haven't stopped using it since then. I've been using a MFLB for 3 years now and occasionally smoking also, but I haven't used anything else since getting my EQ.

I finally reached the end of this thread about a week ago and ordered an 18MM F/F adapter from the most recent link that I saw DDave post. This one from iOffer. I wanted to make sure that I would be able to fit a screen in there so I didn't take a chance with the one from Oregon Glass Blower, which I am surprised to not remember seeing anyone mention a single time in this entire thread. I'm still considering purchasing one since the one I received from the first link is the tiniest bit crooked, but still fully functional.

I love the DDave Adapter, the temperatures seem much more accurate now and my elbow packs (the only way I use it) are getting heated much more evenly than with the cyclone bowl. The size #6 stainless steel screen (about the size of a quarter) I got from my local head shop fits in the middle perfectly.

Now I have a question for you guys. I was inspired by u bwade wunner's "Equalcano mod" http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-extreme-q-vaporizer.1457/page-178#post-261661 and I want to use my Extreme Q to blow up Easy Valve Volcano bags. I found this glass adapter on http://www.planetvape.ca/volcano-easy-valve-gong-adapter.html and before I spend $25 on it I wanted to know if anyone here has used it or has an opinion on it. I should be able to put this on top of my F/F adapter and fill easy valve bags, right? I don't see any reason why the 18MM one shouldn't work.

Thanks guys! It's great to finally post here!

@VapinCrazy whats man!

Welcome to FC!

Glad to see you caught on so quick and got the modded EQ set up! I have the same set up

As for that Valve cano thing this is the first ive heard of it but damn im interested

The only reason you wanna do this is so you dont have to plug the bag?

From everything you said and linked to...that will work perfectly

I havnt used a the bags in months and im pretty sure most people prefer whips so the vapor is as fresh as possible when it hits your lungs. But bags are sick for parties so this valve adapter looks worth grabbing

I hope someone who has done this mod chimes in!

Hey everyone, I'm a new poster here so if this is in the wrong section I'm sorry. I'm wondering if anyone knows a good way to remove the glass elbow joints from the tubing that comes with the vape. I remember one time it came off on its own, however, I tried to take the elbow off the mini whip to use it as an adapter to my bong, and in doing so I ended up breaking the elbow from too much force.

Have you replaced the PVC tubing with silicone tubing yet?

As killick says, heat it up. I prefer a hairdryer because water makes things slippery.

You guys don't just heat up the EQ, turn the fan on, and put the whip/elbow above the heater?

Thanks! I definitely prefer the whip on my own. But my roommates who still smoked and were unconverted by the MFLB LOVE the Extreme Q and want to use it all the time now. I bring it out from time to time but I like to keep it in my room, so I've been filling bags for them. After going to my friend's house and using his volcano, I absolutely love the easy valve bags and love the idea that I can use them without purchasing a volcano! I'll definitely post pictures of my mod once I buy the parts.

This was taken before I got my F/F Adapter.

It's time for some new tubing, also. Everyone here likes silicone but I've also read posts saying that it picks up dust and dirt, which are a big problem in my house. Is the 7th floor whip tubing different?
