Portable Convection Vaporizer for Flower?

Thinking about retiring (and/or selling) my current portables and upgrading to a convection model. Do I really have that many viable options? My first choice at this point would probably be the Firefly, but I'm a little worried about quality issues (haven't kept a super close eye on the thread lately). Second option would probably be the Lotus, but I'm not sure how I feel about having to use a torch lighter.

I only vape flower and I'd mostly be using it around the house, but I'd probably transport it every once in a while. Flavor, vapor quality, and ease-of-use are priorities. No cords please. I don't mind learning curves. A big part of the Firefly's appeal for me is that it's real easy to simply pick it up, take a hit, and put it down with no fuss.

Opinions?

EDIT: I posted this in the wrong forum, can someone move it to "Ask FC" for me?

FWIW, I've loved my FF since day one.

It satisfies my flavor-chasing more than any portable I've used. I also think it's the finest-looking.

Some guys have had to send multiple units in, yes, but plenty of us are on our first. Mine is certainly showing no signs of slowing down and I've had it since late December. Was my home daily driver and on-the-go portable for close to three months straight. Now it's part of my HI / FF / Solo home team.

It definitely fits a certain niche for an at-home portable. I love it for first thing in the morning and one last tasty hit before sleepy sleep in particular. So nice to go to sleep with just a little zing...

Some guys are really liking the Elevape, but there's not a whole lot of info on it yet...

If transportability rather than use on the go is your goal, you might check out the log vapes like the enano, umderdog and HI. They're among the best plug in convection vapes, yet also eminently transportable. The Solo, Flashvape, Hammer, Lotus, Indica, Firefly and several others are also worth considering.

In terms of the Lotus - I love mine (provided I avoid using excessively indoors - too much butane gives me headaches).

The lotus is an awesome device, it's extremely fast at heating up and vaping, and you can vape extremely small loads. Yes the torch might be a bit concerning at first, but once you find the right torch and you get the heating down, you'll love it. Vaping with a lotus is like driving a manual car - tough for beginners, but once you figure out the clutch, it's heaven.

That said, the Lotus is NOT stealth at all, I should point that out. It's pretty hard to be inconspicuous when you're holding a loud hissing torch. But I love the fact I can swing by my house while picking up lunch during work and finish a whole session in under 3 minutes without anyone noticing I was gone longer than normal. (Although I do come back to the office :smug:, thankfully nobody enters my office most days!)

I 2nd the Lotus.. It's much more affordable than the FF and there are no batteries to charge, so it's always ready at an instant, so long as you have a working torch.. It uses a small flame torch too.. Plus it kicks ass, and it also it has awesome flavor IMO.. It really doesn't take much effort to operate IMO.

The VAP2 and Inhalater are conduction.

I recommend the Lotus, the FF is overpriced, but maybe the Elevape if you really wanted to spend.

I personally vote the Hammer, why limit yourself with just convection; the hammer does it all.

If cost is not major factor, the miniVAP. Convection heat. Incredible flavor, vapor quality, and ease of use. See vapefeind youtube review. Best of desktop with best of portable combined. Not pocket stealthy but easily transported. Up to 3 hours on battery charge/ less at higher temps. Medical grade construction and components. Seen sale priced at $519.
Very high quality and reliability.
My CO rec bud was $220 for 1/2 oz = $440 oz so this is price of OZ plus of bud but will last a lifetime
and uses bud very efficiently. Just my opinion

Space is the Place
The vapo 2 is only conduction if you leave the stem in between hits. Cold stem, hot air pulled through cold bud.

That really depends on what you consider to be portable most convection vapes you would not be able to just put in your pants pocket without being noticed (either too big or too heavy) .So is this a vape you be carrying around in a bag? backpack? or are looking for one to put into your pocket?

If just for home use size may be of no issue or the reloading would be used byself? or would it be passed around to friends? How important is temp control to you?And vapor amount ?and last how much do you use to get medicated in one sitting? will this vape hold what is needed or will you need to reload it a few times? what is best for one person may not suit your needs.
