I don't like blowing through stems just because of the condensation that is exhaled when doing so, just me being picky.

Poking it all out is a PITA but just what I do I guess

I use a ssv pick

I have to ask, how/why the screen is being poked at all? I feel like I'm missing something.

I've always just blown mine out like a plug (sometimes confetti like it's an abv party).

I also never blow through stems anymore because of the condensation.

It's not an issue if you regularly clean your stems but I tend to be lazy and wait longer than I'd like, for saliva to be sitting in my vape glass. I admit blowing does work really well with the UD screens. If I cleaned them at least every week I probably wouldn't care.

So after keeping an eye on the Pack for a loooong time, I finally pulled the trigger on my first Pup. !!!!! I can't wait til she gets here and I can take her for her first run. :brow:

Thanks @Sleepin in CA for giving up one of your pack, it goes to a good home brother. I promise to feed her lots of organic greens. :dog:

Puffers, you will not regret your choice!

Thanks man!

It even came with a travel vvps, and a battery pack among other accessories how the hell was i supposed to say no to THAT :D

Got my new Underdog VVPS/Wall Wart delivered today. My old wall wart died on Sunday. I was looking for a new VVPS anyway since my old one died last year. I live in an old building and when I have the AC on, I like to have a vvps...otherwise the voltage is inconsistent. So glad it wasn't my Pup that died. :D

My Pup takes a bit longer than average to heat up since his wood is so thick and dense. :brow: Now that my baby is warm , he hits like a dream. The left side of the vvps gets warm, but the rest of it remains cool...especially the bottom. After doing a stem, I am quite baked, so I am giving the vvps/wall wart combo 2 thumbs up.:tup:

And of course the usual great service: Emailed on Sunday night, got the package today.

EDIT: I assume I can leave my Dog on 24/7 if the VVPS is set on 12V?

@underdog I remember you saying that you weren't sure if the market was there for 14mm nongs. I'd definitely buy one if you ever do decide to offer them. IME the majority of medium to small sized water pipes come with 14mm joints and it's easier to adapt a 14mm male to an 18mm female than it is to adapt an 18mm male to 14mm female.

I second that!!!

Agreed -- I think I prefer to use my nylon stem with glass, instead of a GonG. Probably because I like to pack as little as I can get away with. So I'd surely buy a 14mm NonG.

Thanks for letting us know you're interested in seeing a 14mm NonG everyone.

Just going on guesswork here but I think if we can line up interest in 50 of them or so it'd be worth the time for me to tool up the equipment and make a batch of them for you all.

Headed to the shop, lots of custom work going on right now, will share pics when the various pieces are done if I can get permission. :peace:

Just popping in to say that I've rediscovered my Underdog in a big way. I hadn't been using it because I'd had trouble successfully pairing it with the water pipe I was using at the time. Well, I bought a new Gong and tried out my Dog with a new bubbler...and OMG! I'm really happy. I hated not using my beautiful, beautiful pup in favor of the Lotus, so finding a workable setup for my UD makes me happier than I can express! :)

Also: MAJOR CLOUDS!

So I searched the thread but couldn't find much what's the differnce between an aircore dog and the current version?

The thermal mass is changed somewhat, and the airflow from the sounds of it. Is it more restricted airflow then a a classic dog?

Oh and the travel vvps can't be kept on 24/7 even if we turn them down?..... Maybe I should of checked this stuff out more before I bought my UD I planned on running it 24/7, guess I could get a desktop vvps for 24/7 use. I perfer my vapes with more airflow for better perc action in my glass though.

Hmmmm

Well should be here today fingers crossed. Looking forward to trying it out. It's my b-day this weekend so happy berfdey to me

Aircore is for nylon stems only and has a smaller thermal mass. Hopefully Dave can say some more, I know it's just a few pages back..

Can't wait for the cash flow to be back on track, my twig wants some freinds bad, Aircore comes first though.

I love this one, but bills are due this check :(

The difference(s) between the AirCore and the standard UD are all internal to the stainless steel core. The AirCore has a slightly reduced thermal mass and a slightly changed air gap inside the core. The airflow is effectively the same between the two types (as close to unrestricted as possible) though some people feel one or the other is more or less restricted. Actual measurement shows that this isn't really the case though.

Re: the VVPS - it CAN be left on 24/7, either at a reduced level or at operating level if that's what the user desires. When we say it's best to turn it off altogether when not in use we're talking about what would be ideal. Figure anything electronic has a fixed lifespan based on time used, maybe the VVPS has a lifespan of 15,000 hours.. that lifespan is obviously used up faster when run 24/7 vs when run, say, 5 hours a night and then turned off. That's all we're saying.. :peace:

@KidFated. - That's a nice piece, I actually cut the tree that came from myself.. it's got some crazy worm holes throughout it.

The Air Cores are only for nylon stems???
I've been wanting to get a good look at the Air Core model.. Are there any good pictures of any of the Air Core dogs yet? If so can, some one please point me to them..
I'm glad to see you offering new things Dave
And I'm glad to see so many new, happy UD owners around here lately.

@Sleepin in CA posted photos of a few Underdogs, including an AirCore, and points out the distinction between the heating elements in the photo (though I can't see any difference :/). It's on page 310.
