Recyclers - Discussion and Appreciation

Downward spiral
The Slugworth's look clean, water tests show they can rip. I love the name. Logo is different, but wouldn't keep me away in the least. Yes, it seems recyclers primarily have the male D.I. joints. I always use an adapter so if somethng gets stuck, hopefully I don't kill my glass piece's joint.

At the risk of trying to sound preachy, myself, I don't like the recyclers for flower only use. I can count on one hand how many times I've used my recyclers with flowers.
Dabs in the cycler, flowers with Mobius, GBD Fritted, or hydratubes. I just don't get that satisfied can clearing rip with a recycler. The rip just fills into my lungs quicker from a recycler, gets the job done, but to me, not in a satisfying way. I am not trying to rain on your parade, or act like I am "Recycler Man". I just wanted to throw my opinon out there for whatever.

I hope you find "THE" piece you are searching for. I wanted a recycler soo bad, and screwed the pooch with my 1st one, so disappointed(that's a WHOLE other can of worms, eh). Here's hoping you make better first choice than me.

Argh... Now you have me concerned. Id like to hear other peoples takes on using recyclers to vape flower.
I think what silver is saying about recyclers for oils and bigger can bubblers for flowers mostly holds true in the mainstream cannabis world, ie dabbing or combusting. Most glass made is simply not made for vaping through. I personally think that vaping flowers has much more in common with dabbing than with burning 'em. So I think I recycler is a fine idea with a vape. The selective extraction of a vape does not require filtration, but benefits from cooling, what a 'cycler does best.

I think pairing vape and recycler is currently a bit rare because of the petite nature of the majority of recycler designs. The ones that are constructed to work well with a vape, especially the hydrotube style, look rad to me.

Thankfully the E Nano is so small and light it could probably fit on one of those Bic lighter sized rigs, heh.

Of course I get what he was saying about not having volume to fill and clear like a regular bubbler/bong. That is whats concerning me, however if I can get = sized hits this isn't much of an issue...

My problem is that ive never used a recycler before.

The Nano works well with a recycler and the hits you get are every bit as big as any other piece - that's really dependent on your lung capacity. Most recyclers don't have a ton of diffusion which may hinder your ability to take big hits. I was not a huge fan of the 'cycler and Nano for the reasons you mentioned above. Dabs were great, vaping not so much. Just didn't fit my style.

Why not start with a cheap recycler to introduce yourself to them?

Sorry, @Caligula that wasn't my intent. Looking at the vapes in your sig, you should be fine, man.
I should of mentioned I used a Cloud+,with my recyclers, kinda not fair to compare to an experience with a Nano. It's a shame you can't rent a glass piece.

Im looking to make a solid purchase. Id rather not waste money on cheap stuff when I could apply that to something of quality. I made that mistake already by not getting the Mobius matrix bubbler that I initially wanted.

Don't take this the wrong way @Caligula but that Jhan matrix bub will never be comparable to the Mobius. I'd be lying if I said I never regretted any of my purchases. If you want name-brand glass that comes with the experience then get it, but often times you can get the same function and quality elsewhere - that Jhan matrix bub just doesn't have either when compared to a Mobius. Sell it on the classifieds if you're unhappy, there's no reason to keep it.

There are $50 mini recyclers on ioffer, then there are $250+ recyclers all over the place. That $50 recycler *might* give you the same experience as an expensive one... then again it probably won't but you will have gained some experience, which is invaluable.

The Jhan bub was your first major glass purchase right? Its a learning experience.

You make good points... some of which i have already considered. And its not that I dislike my bubbler... its just that it doesnt "feel" the way I imagined it would.

And you are correct... its the first major glass purchase ive made in the last 15 years or so. Its always nice to see the silver lining!

I picked up a nice recycler for $145 off of ioffer, from greenbuddha. It makes a great vortex and as far as function I don't have any complaints.
Here's a pic of the piece and what it came with.

It stands just under 10" tall.

Well I feel somewhat responsible since I was one of the first to direct you toward Jhan. I didn't foresee that "matrix" perc hitting the way it appears to in your vids either.

The vortex on that piece is fucking impressive to the say the least, I'm just not a fan of the perc

A "cheap" option, especially for (B)East Coasters, is the SSFG Flower Recycler:

I ordered a clear one with a standard flared mouthpiece (like on a travel tube but skinnier) and absolutely no adornment and no slide in order to get it down to the highest I can afford for glass. Here's hoping it works well with a vape! :)

I'm a smaller-toke sort of guy, so I think this may just be perfect for me.

So long as it functions, I'll be more than happy. I prefer cheap and functional because me and my friends break shit. And I don't want to be a slave to my glass - cleaning it, babying it, worrying about it, etc.

I also prefer low-price glass because I can't afford the high-end shit. :ko:

I'll be sure to post a vid whether it works well or not with a vape.

Nice thing about SSFG is they give the best customer service imaginable. My E-mail count to them, in total, is close to 100. That is some serious patience!

Support your local glass blowers and build direct local relationships when you can! Chances are, it'll pay off in the long run...

Smooth sailing while I'm inhaling... VAPOR
I just thought I would throw in my two cents here,

Caligula: I just got my first recycler which is a Gordo HT I listed a few pages back. Its just like @Deadshort480 only a little bigger. I was in your boat just a few weeks ago, wondering which cyler to get and why. I am happy with what I got but I still would never get rid of my mobius. I do not use a nail, I only vape oil with my EVO:D. I do not get as much pleasure out of using flower out of my recycler compared to my mobius. I get the same amount of pleasure using either piece for oil.

The recycler is awesome, everything on it is perfect and the vortex action is gorgeous. That said I hit it more often with no material just to see the vortex:lol:

I enjoy it but if I was stranded on a desert Island and could only have one piece of glass I would still choose my matrix bubbler:love: (its a really good thing that rest of my glass collection does not know how to read:rofl:)

Hope this helps. Good luck on your search

hi guy, sorry for not being around.

SB makes good technically designed rigs, one of the most technical from my experience. However, more percs in a recycler isn't good so I would water test it. Some rigs are done more for market expansion than good functionality. This one looks interesting and complex, but maybe not a great recycler.

I don't like the long down neck w/o more support...

The Boom is good, I have one type, @Zanago Cruel has the other. His was had for $260 from Mellow Mood just before black Friday. $360 is list... I was surprised as hell at that screaming deal.

The Mike D whirlpool isn't the best

Shit for vape, the Clear matrix can't be beat, ion is just a bit smaller...

I appreciate you weighing in @PhotoRider!

Edit: I had to look back to see which piece the Boom was. I love the form and if the function is there, its almost ideal for a recycler IMO. Id love to snag one of those at a sub $300 price point to be sure! I think one of those and a Mobius bubbler would cover all my bases.

Now if I only had the funds...

Yes Boom should be had for $300. I like them except that "BOOM" label. I hate labels... But they function fine. Mines the turbine style which is chugger that the in line perc like ZC's so that one is best. I chose mine on purpose since I have many in lines and no turbines like that.

wonder if they have Facebook or sell direct... They are in Eugene.

So this shop posts on the Facebook glass groups a lot and is offering a VD 24% off special. They have a Gordo Scientific recycler for the list $400 so $300 out the door. Not bad. Only one issue. Shipping inside the USA is $45. whoa! added a second piece, similar cost, shipping increased $7 so that is almost fair, except that freaking $45 to travel a couple states, shipping is a bit over the top.

I feel the same way. I make sure what I'm buying is quality and what I want before buying it. I don't mind spending a few extra dollars to be sure I'm happy with my purchase. I have friends that probably spend as much as I do on glass, but buy a ton of cheap pieces they don't really enjoy that much or have issues. I have 3, and love using them all. Leviathan FC bubbler for flowers. RooR barrel perc ashcatcher for the FC bub and shitty flowers(doesn't get used to often anymore lol). And a Tiny Hamm oil rig.

Next purchase will be a recycler. I've been eying those new Hitman vortex recyclers. "Fresh Tech" They look sick. Like 700 bucks though. I might have to wait for the black friday sale. LHS was selling the ones he made last year for 420 on Black Friday, so I'm sure they will this year, too. Actually, they're having a huge show this weekend. Bates and Worm. Lots of other artists, too. If I decide to be camera guy, I'll be posting a lot in these threads next week.
