Arizer Solo

I've been thinking of getting a new Solo, but feel like I need to be cautious. I wouldn't want to get one that doesn't get hot enough. I really value everyone's opinion and will watch and wait before i make a purchase. I'm disappointed with all the problems FCrs are having. We might want our old Solo back Arizer!

Was thinking of going through Puffitup they had a sale $160 but I'm not pulling the trigger just yet.

I picked up my first Solo (M1D2) a few weeks ago and the thing kicks ass. I haven't used the earlier models, but coming from a Da Buddha, I thought I would be disappointed, but the Solo has kicked my ass!

Great Vape
As it has mine! Do you have the PVHES gong yet?

If not, absolutely recommended! :smug:

The car charger he tried on the 105 was a universal one that could have voltage changed from 9-14V and also LiOn chargers sometimes use lower Hertz on the car chargers due to variances w/the alternator on the vehicle to keep the charging more consistent.

When I bought the 105 from my friend I was told "it charges sometimes, but works when using the Power adapter (not included charging one)"

I, however couldn't get it to charge at all when I got it, so I picked up new battery on amazon, soldered the leads onto new battery (double checked polarity) and plugged into test...still no blinky charge light...
At this time I ordered a 107 from vapor nation cuz things didn't look good.
Tried the other 107 charger, still no charge.
Took the battery out of the 107 and put into 105, and still no charge.

So whatever happened to the 102 due to defect or stupidity has caused the charging components of the board to not regulate power or switch to charge mode for some reason, thus my 102 is forever just a wired vape.

You do it then.
Sorry!

My Solo is a M1D2. Performs just like your description of the older models.

Level 3 dry or wet = good flavor (although not as good as Thermovape)
Level 4 = huge clouds - more than enough! Flavor is OK
Level 5 = clouds not much bigger than level 4 and not worth it as it kills the flavor in one or two hits.

No big need for comparing old and new models. I think people will be happy with either.

Cheers

Just don't know if this issue is worth all the concern...

just something to be aware of for people who have an older unit and considering buying a new one, since like me, you might have grown to know your unit rather well. Only people who have an older one or who have owned an older one might notice a difference (possible in the M1C1 only it seems).

Even most owners of both new and old units seem happy so...I def. agree with tom, you will more than likely be happy with either so just buy it and don't stress the model # if you're considering a Solo

Ok so took off the lid and tried without the o-ring. Really don't find any difference in draw, just keeps the stems snug in place. Here is the pic of the cap off. Not sure how it is supposed to look though.

Compared to Tom Funk my unit is definitely off.
Level 3 - zip/zero vapor
Level 4 - tiny tiny amount of vapor, good flavor
Level 5 - slightly more vapor but unless blowing into a light you can't see, still good flavor
I always just put on Level 7 - small cloud with a long pull vaporbonging (less with dry stem), always good flavor

I just finished one pack in the GonG through my bubbler which is bigger than the water tube (I wanted to see how much vapor I could pull into the piece). Started it on 7, heated super fast still (35sec or so) so I let it sit for another minute. First 3-4 pulls gave very little vapor, mostly flavor hits. Kept taking pulls until the timer shut it down, last pull seemed to get better. I turned it back on and took about 5-6 more pulls that definitely started to milk up a bit and flavor was perfectly fine throughout. On the last couple the vapor started to drop off to almost nothing again so I emptied just before the 2nd timer shut off. Here is the ABV.

Hey guys, just joined here after spending a few weeks in an obsessive research hole im sure we've all been in. I've had a Thermovape T1 for about 9 months and am finally starting to get ready to step it up.

I was really excited for the Ascent but dont know how to justify the price, while the Indica seems pretty solid though i'm not necessarily sold on conduction (as it keeps cooking constantly, maybe hurting battery life more?). Anyway I was starting to get pretty into the Grasshopper hype, as it seems like the truest successor to the T1, but with its April delay and still untested claims i've grown impatient.

Which brings me here, just pulled the trigger on a Solo ($140 on ebay, supposed to be latest model), as it really does seem to be the best overall value for the price, which will especially be worthwhile if the Grasshopper does turn out to be the next coming. Anyhow, it should be coming in the next few days. Anybody have any first day tips? Considering I'm used to the T1 (though my buddy does have an EQ)

Well i'm a new Solo owner (m1c1) and so far i'm not very happy with the weak vapor. I'm still getting the high so i'm not exactly pissed about it but this unit is really not impressing me, which makes me think there's a problem lol

Thanks for the pics! I don't see anything wrong, but @Caligula is the expert on the black ring. Sir Caligula?

Now for the ABV pic, that's the color I end up with on 4. I've read about some units breaking in over time... my fingers crossed for you friend!

There's good info in this thread... modding, techniques, glass....

For me, PHVES Gong is a must. Other than that, a nice carry case!

Edit: I always forget the mandatory wooden tooth pick!

I consume alot of erl, dry sift and pressed hash which my Solo handles ok if I mix with dry flowers but I would like to find a device I can use to consume these without mixing with herb or putting on a brillopad, glass wick or cotton ball - kinda like a Solo for concentrates. Does anyone know if such a device exists?

BTW, I dropped and shattered my Fbomb and the GonG connecter the day after dropping and breaking my fancy schmancy bubbler... Now I am faced with a tuff choice - do I drop $155 plus shipping to Asia on replacement Fbomb & connecter or pay same amount or less for a decent glass bong or bubbler. The all-in-one convenience of the Fbomb has me leaning in that direction.

Cheers, P77

Did you try vaping with regular stems? Same kind of ABV? I actually found my pvhes to not darken my material like a stock stem. Too much airflow for me but I have an old Solo. It does produce noticeable vapor though. Perhaps contacting the vendor for a warranty process might be in order soon?

.

Have you thought about the Pinnacle Pro Water Tool, it fits really well with the Solo. I have one and I love it. I bought 2 extra when they were on sale, you never know when one might fall and break. The reg price is $69.

Yea my unit is definitely buggin out on me. Just tried the Pax and THERE are the clouds... had to keep it on the lowest setting of the 3 actually. The ABV was a real dark brown when finished. The taste is no where near the Solo though that I noticed right away too.

So i'm going to go through a couple more cycles of the battery and if that doesn't wake it up i'll see if I can get it swapped. It is totally not putting out what it should. Sucks because damn does it taste good. I'll be in heaven once I get working one that i know lol

I'd get it swapped, @Bearded Dude. Where did you buy it from?

PV only offers the Fbomb for Pinnacle and everywhere else seems to be out of stock on the Pinnacle Pro Water Tool...suggestions?

edit: found them via "14.4 mm Micro-shower Water Tool" search

Get it from the vaporblunt website. Until recently they were only shipping to the US and Canada but that has apparently changed now. You would still have to get the GonG from Planet Vape if you want it but shipping should only be $10CAD for it alone (that's what it is to Australia anyway). Putting the water tool onto the regular stem works fine if you don't want to shell out for the GonG.

I know that EZVAPES sells the Pinnacle Pro, so I would assume you could just buy the WT. They maybe sold out too, have you checked? Gotvape sells them too.

Not necessarily. The LHS may just let you bring in yours and give you a brand new one which would be tits, since everyone who orders online has to ship out then wait for a new unit to ship back.

@DDave I agree with Stu, that doesn't sound right, regardless of the ring. Time to RMA.
