Discontinued The Sublimator

Slightly Medicated

But when using herb with the E-Nailator, it's being heated with convection just like with the Apollo. The only difference is the air is coming through the holes on the top of the nail instead of the inlet holes on the sides of the Apollo heater. So with herb it seems to function just the same.

I would think mostly the same. I don't think the E-Nailator has the side inlet holes after the heating source. So when you place the herb in the chamber it will not get the cooler air from the side inlet holes. This might cause the herbal extraction to be a little different between the two units. Again mostly speculation. I just spent some time looking over the videos at the E-Nailator design. I did not think I saw any side inlets in that design. Did anyone else?

I thought the Apollo heater had two sets of inlets. One for the hot air in the main heater and one for cooler air on the side inlets. I thought the E-Nailator just had the heat from the dome heater and no side inlets.

well I'll need to make up my mind by tomorrow morning, heading to the bank in the morning. I'd go now, but I'm tired and vaked :ko: and ready to crash soon. Choices.... I am leaning towards apollo...

Hmm yeah I think you're right about the inlets. I wonder how that affects the resulting vapor. Somebody's gonna have to just buy both and compare the effects... who wants to take this on?

I need funding for that... who wants to sponsor me? I'll play it safe and end up with apollo most likely. I did send a message to PV asking them, they should understand what I am looking for. The website actually explains it pretty clearly.

Well I placed an order. I should have a unit for review around the same time as everyone else. :) I am hopeful this vaporizer will preform well... I am most interested in the products ability to quickly extract all the actives from the plant. I am hoping it will live up to my ridiculously high standards. ;)

Looking forward to your thoughts, SliM. I have yet to pull the trigger on it. My cart is loaded, but I feel I need more education. The thought of getting any more vaked than my Cloud gets me is somewhat scary! Kidding, of course. Like you, I take huge, thick rips and find this one intriguing. But I may wait a bit... On the fence right now.

... you know what else this means?? I should also be getting my repaired Lil'Mona back from Lev. soon... I think it may team up with the Sub nicely. We'll see soon enough?? :brow: the fun never ends! I'll be getting up early tomorrow!

I get confused because in most the videos he says the magic happens in the atomizer... that is where the real next-level-whatever-you-wanna-call-it takes place. Well the E-Nailator comes with an atomizer as well... so wouldn't that be next-level-whatever-you-wanna-call-it also? Why does one supposedly do a different kind of extraction then the other even though most of the components are the same?

I am not big on dabbing and nails so the E-Nailator does not really interest me as a product. I already passed it along to several dabber friends of mine who are always looking for butane free dabbing nails and accessories.

Either I'm quite fucked up off my new MFLB PA +finishing grinder set up. (my shit looks like a trenchfula mold!)

Or I'm pretty sure Enrico mentioned in one of his videos with Marijuana Man how the E-Nailator has the six holes on top and each one has its own atomizer. Then they all combine once more at the last atomizer on the bottom.

Wow! I loved the campfire/torch keychain heater in that vid! Sooo... it can go with either electricity, butane torch and fire (rocket stoves would work even for large parties, I am sure of it!)... Pretty nice stuff!! I wonder how well it works, maybe Enrico shoots a vid when these little babies are ready for sale! A fire in the woods with it and good company and a small bong.... Great times! :smug:

Guess we have to wait to hear from Enrico & PV about the E-Nailator. From what I saw in the videos, there are more air intake holes.

As to price, I don't really think this is the place to debate that. If you look around, there are vaporizers at various price points throughout the forum. We won't know the units value until some of us take the plunge and give it a try. And even then, it can be intensely personal. What is nice from my readings so far, is this unit is built in Canada out of surgical stainless steel. I imagine that makes a difference right there vs oversea manufacture or being made out of cheaper components.

Just received an email response from Enrico regarding the difference between the Sublimator and the E-Nailator. Gotta say, great response time since I wrote him late last night. So here it is:

"Just for concentrate only for concentrate . The heat is directed directly on your medecine creating to much heat for the organic flower . The atmosphere in The chamber, is not for flower . No contradiction here.once it is a oil it's requoiering a bit more of a difficult atmosphere to thrive in.
they do not have the same density The e-nail does not have the same mass vortexing
Yes the atomiser will rafine your oil dab and make it easyer on the intake ( e- nail for concentrate) only
Hope i answer u question
Ps. it is a graduable dimmer for you heat source"

I asked Enrico if he wouldn't mind stopping in here to answer some questions if he has the time so hopefully he does! I explained to him that while we may seem like a tough crowd to please, few vapes have created such a stir of hype and intrigue with so many of the forums well known members. So if he does come in here, let's all continue to treat the Sublimator with respect and not turn to attacks. We ask questions appropriately and politely, we get answers. Simple enough, right?

I also inquired as to whether it's possible to get some sort of package price for both the Sublimator and the E-nailator since receiving multiple atomizers would be redundant. That $120 off may be enough to sway me to try out both.

The regular unit heats the air up and mixes that hot air with the air from the inlets along the side and then passes over the material in the chamber. I do not think the E-Nailator has those inlets. I think the way it extracts before the Atomizer is slightly different.
With all do respect, I believe there is a misunderstanding with this statement. One the "Regular Apollo" unit there are ONLY the side intakes for air, so hot air does not mix with cool air in the bowl, those holes in the side of the Apollo ARE the intake, so it is safe to say that the air in the bowl will be HOTTER after passing through a heater, right?

It might be difficult to appear polite when the answers he gives are wrong, many phrases made up and his explanations defy scientific knowledge. So as nice as it is to have manufacturer support on the board, members still should still have freedom of speech on products so that customers are not mislead.

It's not a matter of appearing polite. It's BEING polite. If you're incapable of engaging in discussion in an appropriate manner, then perhaps this forum isn't suited for you? We can inquire and discuss and if contradictions arise or laws of science are ignored, we can help each other understand what may actually be going on with this device. It's clear that something is different about the Sublimator and we're all trying to answer what and how. Perhaps Enrico isn't 100% certain what is occurring either, but maybe together with our inquiring minds and his obvious knowledge of the innards of his own creation we can come to a logical, foolproof conclusion and thusly understand exactly how the Sublimator is different from the average vaporizer.

I think the best way to approach it would be to stick to questions strictly relating to the device and launch here. There is a sublimation science thread, where any general science behind the device questions should probably be asked. IF Enrico is interested, he's obviously more than welcome there to give explanations/etc on a larger scale but the vape thread itself probably isn't the best forum for it. Seems like a much larger chance for shitstorm to brew when the conversation turns that way.

To those who are (pre?) ordering, did you receive any notification about shipping/releases? Or are the apollo kits now available to the public? I'm tempted to place an order, just too much for me to slam down on a whim right now sadly.

Anyone know where to find an adapter in stock to use with my 65b? I'm trying to find one angled to add clearance for the stemless. 14mm female < 18mm male. Really don't want to spend $120 on a second atomizer.

We will try to answer some questions that have been asked.
Warranty - After one year, if your heater / electronics is no longer functioning, Sublimator will repair / replace for approx. 30.00

18mm option - 18mm joint size option now available on Adapt-A-Bong and E-Nailator

E-Nailator vs. Apollo - E-Nailator vaporizes concentrates only, it is too hot and air stream is directed straight in to chamber making it unsuitable for dried flowers. E-Nailator is for the pure concentrate enthusiast and ability to do BIG dabs. Apollo is best for dried flowers and can do regular sized / smaller dabs as well.

Hot Caution - The exposed metal except for the handles naturally get very hot, the Sublimator is a serious tool and care and caution must be used during operation.

I got an order confirmation for mine, but not sure if we will get shipping notices or not. I imagine we should get some kind of notification when they go out.

ya, i just got an order confirm as well but I usually get a shipping one once it ships...

I have my fingers crossed I will have mine early next week...Enrico, if you are reading this man, don't keep us waiting. :mmmm: (Please. Pretty please. :D)

P.S--Keep us up to date on when you are coming through town on this bus tour...I need to take a hit with you and Remo...it's on my bucket list.

I'm also really hoping it ships early as I would love to get my Dad Sublimated for father's day. :brow:

Thanks for the info PV!! It's good to get that cleared up. Now I'll just sit back and enjoy my current vapes as I know they will soon be getting less attention.
