Hi fellow Mobius appreciators
I've been following the discussion, but hadn't had an excuse to post yet... I've been using a Mobius clear bubbler attached to an Extreme Q as my daily driver for the past 4 months. The clear Matrix is a wonderful zero drag peice, but it is a bit large. Went to the LHS that sold me my clear, and they had two of these amazing worked Ion Reti's.... No way in hell I could walk away without buying one....

Time to hook it up to my Q and see if it beats the clear

Looks like glass-blowers torches to me. You know, those acetylene/oxygen burners they use. I don't know the proper english term, but I guess you know what I mean.

I've been using my clear Matrix for so long that I'm use to the way it behaves and need a few more days to adjust to the Ion. I like that the Ion is smaller than the clear. The clear is so large that I have to prime the thing before I can get hit. The Ion is small enough that I can just rip.

A very minor downside to the Ion is that the mouth piece is somewhat less comfortable. I feel like I need to pucker up a little to get a good seal. The mouth piece on the clear feels a bit better.

It's easier for me to see how much milk is in the can with my clear. The smaller size and sandblasting work make it a bit harder to figure out on the Ion.

With that said, I'm very happy with the Ion and plan to use it as my daily driver for the next several weeks at least.

I'm specificly talking about the Reti. Clear vs Ion.

Right. The action of the Reti perc is nearly identical in both pieces, just as is true with the Matrix. It is a tad smoother in the Ion because the perc is scaled smaller and less water is being moved. During a pull where the pressure is held, this difference is nearly imperceptible. It's when you clear that it's noticeable because the Micro has more airflow, so there's chug and air intake then.

IME by far the more notable differences between Micro and Ion Reti's are not in the variance of the perc itself, but in the size and style of the pieces. The Micro has a much larger can, nearly 2x. And it's neck bore is larger, mouthpiece different. As a result with the Micro you can get greater airflow more easily, and with the mouthpiece you can throttle the flow to just where you want it. With the Ion, there isn't that flexibility. On the other hand, the Ion is easier to handle, safer, and the volume is more comfortable for many. Zero drag of course on both.

Just last night I did several sessions each time switching around between Reti and Matrix, Ion and Micro. It seemed that I preferred the Micro Matrix over the Ion Matrix, but the Ion Reti over the Micro Reti. But I could just as easily change my mind next time. (Needless to say, all that testing got a bit blurry what with the Kush side benefits .) I guess it just comes down to what I like best for the particular occasion.

For me it's harder to judge a piece of glass from others' experiences than it even is with vapes. It's just so subjective, not to speak of the many other variables that factor into one's perception. With the Mobius bubblers, despite being very finicky I can be happy with any of them (although not so the tubes).

I admit, I miss the ion I had, just didn't want to rely on it for my daily driver. If I see the right opportunity, I might pick another one up one of these daze (maybe even a Reti). I agree that the smaller can size allows for instant hits, with almost no prep work to fill the chamber. The Clear bub is not much further away from that, in comparison to some of the larger tube/stemless style I have used. I do find myself running out of room in my lungs on some of my hits with the clear, it's definitely got the volume. I can see how that frosted portion of the ion you got would make it hard to see your hit. On the plain model, you can watch just like with the clear. I thought those little images on your piece looked sort of like strange gas masks, with a weird J hook coming out of them it's funny how the eye translates stuff from person to person.​

I also ran out of breath trying to take in all the vapor with the clear. I would see it filled up while hitting it but then a new rush of vapor would come and fill the can even more. I only had 1 night of usage so I have to work on my technique especially with my HA, which just keeps producing hit after hit. The video I posted was the first hit so idk if it was thinner then the rest. I do know that last night I slept like a baby! First time in over a month too. Now all I need is the damn PV GonG adapter for my HA which never seems to be available.

I'm going to buy a Ion Reti soon.

Can I bring it onto a plane? I'm moving in 2 months and was wondering if I can bring it onto the plane or if I have to ship it?

Also, can someone tell me why the "clear" is more expensive than the "ion"?

^^ I think I'd go with shipping and make sure it's insured. I'd be worried that some TSA guy would see the glass and either break it to be a jerk, or seize it.

The clear is much bigger. It's not about one being better, they are just different. It's really a matter of preference and what you intend to do with it. I'll try to post a side by side shot in a bit.

Since, you don't want toooo much diffusion with vaping, the Reti should retain the taste better, right?

The Matrix perc looks so cool tho haha

Daryl says pull the trigger!!! Sucks you need the GonG piece also. PV needs to restock already sheesh. I couldnt get the Reti based on the Matrix bubbles and definitely the look.

Yes, there is debate about whether the Matrix perc has so much diffusion that it removes flavor. I don't notice it myself but I'm sure others do. The Reti is great for taste, even though it has great diffusion. It doesn't have the smoothness of the Matrix but it is still pleasantly smooth. Stacks great, and is perfect for concentrates. I favor the Matrix for the same reason, surprisingly comfortable big hits. But I do very much like my Reti, too.

I wasn't aware.. never looked that close at them. My mistake. Though, just like they did with the rounded top Clear Matrix bubbler, you can still get one. You just have to pay for it and know someone.

Mobius is trying to price themselves into the top dollar customers... so, yeah... probably best you grab one while you can. They are still in production, I believe.

EDIT: Just had to comment again. I am drooling over that custom Reti up there. I would love it, with just that frosting.

Just cleaned my Rezblock 'pink lemonade' from my Clear earlier this morning and snapped a pic of the matrix perc after a wake n vape session, before I left to work. I saved it as my wallpaper on my phone and now everytime I turn on my backlight, it cheers me up. This thing has made me a very happy camper. I had someone try it yesterday and they said they havent felt that body punch or had their eyes get so low in a long time! Not as good as Tweaks glass porn pic but this baby is mine, so she means oh so much more to me then someone elses sexy holes

EDIT: Does anybody know what the slide on top of the mobius pieces are for? Is it just for display? I was looking in the classifieds at an ion matrix and noticed the slide, and said wait a minute i dont have that on mine. I never fully looked through my box of peanuts, as I thought only the big piece was included. =\ When I get home I will have to check out the box which I just left on the floor all week LOL

+1. I recall seeing a mobius Ion for the first time in the Lev Thread and thought that it was just perfect. 5 glass pieces later and I finally have what I originally wanted and couldn't be happier.

Im just glad I didnt throw out the box, +1 for laziness.

I definitely didnt even think twice to look in the box for goodies, those shipping peanuts are intimidating. (Once they spill, they dont stop)

I love the way the slide looks and cant wait to put it in my matrix and take pics with it, but what is it for!?!?! (If possible can this be added to glass 101) so I dont have to ask this stuff!
