Mobius Glass

I really don't think I want 2 Mobius pieces with a matrix when that is my only other glass. I think more variety would be better. I dunno.

Look into Dave Goldstein pieces (there's also an FC thread on his work), with my Ion Matrix being delivered in about two hours, and my DG fritted disc, I don't need ANY more glass besides maybe a CloudBuddy if I want to comfortably hit the Cloud out of my DG. Also getting a 18/19mm male male adapter so I can take dabs out of the Ion.

The DG looks cool and is the only other thing I have considered because of the design but that Rooster looks kind of stupid. I read that thread for awhile to see if that is what I wanted but the quality control concerns me and I heard the dude who makes this has horrible customer support. If these pieces were cheaper I would not worry so much but they are Mobius like prices.

If you stick to this thread, you'll soon be believing Mobius is the be-all/end-all. The only glass, you'll ever need. Glass was made by cavemen, before Mobius! ;)

Want another completely dragless water pipe (impossible the Matrix can be ANY smoother, as there isn't any drag on this piece) and lots of little bubbles? Look up the Dirty Rico Apocoline bubbler with the Dewaar. Or, one of the stemless pieces, that the percs are mounted from the top.

I fell in love with the DG fritted disc after that thread was started. I had never seen bubbles stack like that before. Almost pulled the trigger on one from a fellow FC member. Still wanna try a fritted disc though.

johnlewis...I like to hit my ClIon with one hand. For the most part I can't see the can at all, but I can see the side walls to tell if it is whitewalling. If you are super dependent on seeing what is going on in the can, then I don't think this combo will fit that bill. I usually don't know how thick the hit is until I lift the Cloud off the Ion.

Thanks stickstones. That is what I needed to know. I kind of wish I got the 65T because I think for my use case it works best. I love my 60t though but don't need two stereo matrix no matter how good it is. I have kind of figured out how to gauge vapor density looking down at my 60t but looking in a mirror with a dark shirt makes it easiest. I dont always have a mirror though.

Oh yeah, I meant to mention... that's one of the things I like in a bubbler and even a tube. The last piece I got, the M&M Tech... while I like it... it bugs the horse@#$% out of me, that I can't watch my hit. Especially if I'm wearing a white shirt. LOL!. I've got to be standing in front of a mirror and I watch for either a logo on my shirt or my hand.

That's one of the reasons I liked the old Mobius style so much, with that big rounded top, its the perfect viewing space. My Lattice is a blast to watch, however its a different angle and while it does have a smoothed edge, its still a 90 degree bend. But, the DR with the rounded top, very reminiscent of the old Mobius (though much smaller tubing). I like the way vapor rolls off a rounded top. You can see it in my old MFLB/Saxo video to. Which is close to the Mobius profile, because of the size. Speaking of which, Black Leaf so screwed that piece up. Had they just gone with smaller diameter MP, that thing would have hit with the best, best of them. Would still be a Black Leaf, but it is one amazing perc. Poorly designed. Still amazes me.

But, so much funner, when you get to watch it, what's going on. I'm going to be seriously cross-eyed in 5 years, but who gives a @#$%!?

I could see a Mobius being a bit harder to see, with the T series and the smaller Ion, because of the nature of the perc. Since it is dragless... you're not even really seeing the little puffs of vapor, as they fill in the chamber. Not something I'd ever complain about, in a review, or in function... I just get what you're saying about (not) getting to see it.

I am glad I found someone else who understands this. It seems like a little thing but to me it is really important because it helps me regulate the flow much better and deliver the optimal hit every time. I have sensitive lungs so more than just being able to see the smoke roll around, which is cool as hell, I need to gauge how much of a hit I am taking. I know how to do it with the 60t but now I want to see the vapor rolling through. :)

I already have the Mobius 60T with a matrix perc but the smaller ION just seems perfect for the Cloud. Is it easy to see down into the glass when you are using the Cloud? Does the angle of your eye looking through the ion give you a clear view of the air inside and not distorted by the curving walls when it is filled with water? . . .

If you mean, can you see the milk fill the can, well I certainly can. With the little Ion the can is very close, that's one reason I prefer to use the CloudBuddy with it - puts it a couple inches aside and I don't need to lift the Cloud to clear. The pull on the Ion and the Clear is definitely easier than the 60t. You have a single matrix perc rather than the stereo matrix on your piece, but with vapor I'd rather have the former anyway. It's even easier to see into the can of the Clear, but as has been discussed, its can is beefy and more than some like or can handle.

I just googled and found a nice mobius ion / cloud video and evaluated it using my cloud buddy like you do and was wondering how does the cloud not get into your face? Do you put the cloud of center so you can see better?

hey John Pls check out the liquid sci Jacuzzi piece too.I tried one recently and with the sidecar arrangement you can clearly see the vapor bouncing about inside the can.just wish i d bought one.

I have found with the ion during use you have a top view down but are unable to see vapor forming side on.I would love to view the matrix perc side on without a mirror:brow:

Out of respect,I wont post pictures, the link is here to the thread.I m waiting for a good price before i jump on one.It stacks so well, zero drag too.

I guess there would be the place to discuss the piece too:tup:

Same dilemma here. I've got a crappy backup but I've sold off all my other pieces except my Ion. I want to go grab a Clear tomorrow, but don't really want another matrix...or do I? I had a 60t and Ion and loved both, but just didn't like the stemless on the t & b designs as much as the clear/Ion.
Yes, the volume is greater, close to the 65b.
I thought this bubbler would cure my GAS. But it may have piqued my interest in high end glass, ugh, :ugh: .
And statements like these make me want the Clear even more...ugh. Damn GAS.

Not me. I want FIVE Mobius, because all other glass is made by n00bs. Mobius is the best and only glass! Then I'll be set and can laugh, mock and look down my nose at everyone else, because they don't have FIVE Mobius! ;)

I use an angle adapter with my Ion (actually I use it for all my glass, had a couple ELB tops fall off) which also makes viewing the vapor easier, though there's not as much to see in the Ion as the 60t

Oops... I read this wrong first time.

You're using a 45 degree adapter on top of your Ion? Pictures? Not clowning... I was just looking at some pieces yesterday and was building things in my head. Just trying to be clear on this.

You put the Cloud in the CloudBuddy's outside joint. The carb side is into the dewaar. And with the stability of the Ion's base, you can angle the Cloud for more distance. You see the vapor immediately coming out of the matrix and filling the can.

45 degree adapter in the ion?

guilty :o 18mm male - 18mm female dropped into the dewarr.ez bowl stem in the adapter.I can rest my elbow on my countertop and arc my arm cowgirl style onto my hi bowl. minimal wrist action:D ,just a gentle lowering and raising onto my Moby.just like james brown.

I can t photo cause my glass is in a titanium trunk cased in concrete and surrounded by booby traps in my loft.My in laws are in town for six weeks.I miss my ion especially just looking at it when its clean and sparkling..Its that perc its mesmerizing :lol:

although a moby fan.I m still looking out for the pefect glass so i can watch the show side on without craning my neck:uhoh:.so there ya go Mobius a useful piece imo but Im still looking at others.thats my excuse I swear i haven t got GAS

That is a good idea. It feels akward to use my cloud buddy with my 60t and the cloud buddy is hard to clean easily with my setup. I had a 45 degree adapter but my gf broke it accidentally. Using that was a great setup because it was out of my way and could collect most of the honey. I need to get another :)

I only have 4 mobius pieces at the moment (well, 3 in hand, 1 in the post) though, but I've owned 6 different ones in total

I can't wait to get my ion, it'll be nice to be able to compare it to the clear :D
