So I had my PAX for about 2 weeks. (Cleaned once) And I now 50% of the time have the problem with the Orange Light/ Purple Light on Powerup, so I decided to post a Low Quality video LOL for all your enjoyment since this thread has been answering questions I was starting to begin to ask myself. Thanks for keeping on topic and making people be credible.

I dunno couldn't concentrate with bieber kid playing

Oh guess it was clear...I don't like him and now his ego is through the roof which is never attractive on anyone.

Dreamerr,
Some more random thoughts.....

I just sent my second Pax away for warranty replacement. My unit would indicate the temperature setting, start to warm up (flash purple), then flash blue. At first I was able to make the Pax function properly by applying pressure on the mouthpiece sideways. Once the unit warmed up (turned green) I would not have to put any pressure on the mouthpiece. Finally yesterday I couldn't get my Pax to warm up at all...when I popped up the MP I got nothing but the unit starting to warm up and then a flashing blue light.

This is despite the fact I clean my unit obsessively. As Vapinghole says - A clean Pax is a happy Pax! I had all the tools- dental brushes, pipe cleaners, iso. I don't want to start anything but I even used a magic eraser once!

I believe that the cause of my problems is the MP. I had received an updated mouthpiece from Ploom and it never seemed to operated as smoothly as the original. I felt so strongly about this that I stuck in the original MP which promptly became stuck. Duh! Didn't I get a new one because the old one was sticking! Anyway, it never seemed that the old Pax and the new mp functioned well together.

Before I go any further I would like to say I am not upset. I was one of the early adopters - my first unit was returned for a sticky temperature button around about the time Ploom issued a how to clean your Pax video. Customer service, both at Vape World and Ploom have been stellar. At my present pace of 3 to 4 Pax's a year replaced under warranty for 10 years comes out to $8.30/$6.23 pop - cheapest vaporizor I know!

What bothers me most is the period of time I will be without. I can't see getting it back until late next week at the earliest. I am tweaking already!

I would also like to say there is nothing wrong with blazing through an oven on high! Sometimes you guys remind me of Prius owners bragging about what great MPG they get! Load it up! Tamp it down! Get high!

My name is Hephzibubba and I am a Paxaholic.

Sorry to hear that you dont like the BEEBZ! I did it as a joke though (I am more of a urban poetry aka gangster hip hop kind of guy), the other guy had beautiful music while cleaning his pax, so I had bieber while mine isnt working properly to amuse people who contributed to this thread and helped me along the way indirectly or directly.

I did an internet search for plastic and silicone caps and I could find nothing in the shape needed. Several companies offered to make custom pieces, but I only need 2, not 1,000. C'mon Ploom, how about some silicone end caps to seal my Pax? Colors to match all three models would be even better!

I tried the latex glove finger thing, they slid off too easy in my pocket and were too easy to punch holes in, releasing the odors I personally love, but others seem to find the scent upsetting, making them feel the need to call local law enforcement.

So this is what I decided to try. These black caps came from Thermovape. They ship them with the larger clear packaging tube (glass mouthpiece came in one, T1 size) so what I would suggest is emailing Themrovape, ask about the black caps they use on the packaging tubes (larger size) and see what kind of deal they will give you, they are really nice folks there that should work with you. These caps fit perfectly.

When I ordered my smooth flow and the water attachment i didn't get that. With the smooth flow I got a cheap plastic thing that broke and already had a crack when I got it. With the water piece it came just the way it is no tube. Maybe they cut down on putting them in a tube. I wish the smooth flow had a better tube cause I will have to buy one so I can moisten it.

I like it! I don't want a bulky case because it takes away from this small and sleek device that fits well in my pocket. My pax is starting to get dinged up on the edges too from dropping it a few times and the oven lid and mp flying off. These would be great at protecting the edges, and prevent things from falling off, and hopefully reduce the smell. Good find!

I spoke with Ploom about something very similar and was told they had something in the works soon to hit the shelves. As for right now i use a large prescription pill bottle which does a great job with smell and leaves enough room for a pick, extra meds. If i need it to be more stealth I use a washed out "Ensure" bottle. The mouth of bottle is a tad too small for the pax to just fit in but give it a little squeeze which deforms the shape to a slightly off round profile and the pax slips right in and cap screws on no problem completely containing any smell. You just have to pay alittle bit of attention when getting it out so that you squeeze the correct sides so it will slide back out but no big deal.

I just received my 5" inch "Dime Bag" from www.dimebagstorage.com. My Pax is out for a battery repair so I have not yet tried it but I am more than sure it will fit because I have checked the dimensions of the Pax on Plooms website.

I got a free one when I purchased mine from planetvape. Just a word of warning, it`s going to be a tight fit. I couldn`t zip it up with my pax in there at first because the padding was too fluffy. Once the padding deflates a bit, it will just zip up and have a enough room for a dube tube full of ground herb. I don`t even use mine because I like how well the pax fits in my pocket alone.

I was having the same impression that I would like the Pax in my pocket by itself. I just figured, "what the hell", I could use it for traveling purposes but then again I would need a bigger bag for the charger and what not. But, never the less, I am pleased with my dime bag purchase because I could fit any of my glass pipes in it if I need. + it came with lots of stickers and a canvas grocery type bag. Thank you for the Pax fitting description! Pax on!

Yeah, that`s what I`m using mine for right now. I have some glass in there and tuck away for storage.

Pax Vape Do's and Dont's (merged)

Modnote: Merged into the appropriate thread.

Im about to go pick up a Pax vape from a local store. Before i do i was wondering Is there any news on a new one already in the works that may fix the mouthpiece or draw problems I've heard of. I also figured it would be good to have a thread talking about things you should do from the start like exactly how to condition the battery. If theres stuff from the factory you should burn of before straight hitting it, The best way to clean it. Things like this. I would've posted this in the portable Vape area but it wouldn't let me.

Thanks
Adam

I'm not the best at measurements, using a standard ruler, the ID looks to be 2 marks past an inch (are those 1/8 or 1/16?) not sure.

I think the draw problem is strictly user error because my Pax hits flawlessly. I have not yet experienced a mouthpiece issue.

I packed up .3 and hit it a good 8-10 minutes on low then to med. I have not experimented with bong hit sized packs yet which I will and will get back to you on that. I can tell you that if you pack fully were you cant put any more that thing will hit for a good 20-25 minutes going from low to med and then high. But for now my pax is in repair for short battery life and sent it in with the warranty. I should be getting it back soon!!!!! I'm excited!

so you don't have to pack it to the top for it to work you can put a little less for instance .3 id assume .6 would fill it to the top. thats good to know. Also i like that they stand by there product thats good i thought they didn't cover the battery but when its something like that they usually will. I'm off to go get one i don't think ill have any problems with the mouth piece getting stuck or other stuff so thats good. whats the best way to clean it youd say.

Until you get it cleaned up, try jiggling the mouthpiece and see if you cant get the lights right. But it looks like a cleaning issue around where the mouthpiece slides into the Pax body.
