So sorry man. :(

mvapes - I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. A very difficult time. Glad to hear that the forum is providing some cheer. The FC forum does have a very nice group of people. May the JedHI way brighten your day. Will continue to think of you.

So I've pretty much switched over to the FVPS after my break-in period. As other (notably VH) have noted, its a natural progression, going to the HI from the MFLB. I agree completely with this. I'm glad I had the VVPS for the period of adjusting to it and all the friggin' combinations and draws/pulls... etc. It really is kind of overwhelming at first. The VVPS kind of gives you that safety buffer, plus lets you get used to the temp, IMO... the HIsaber was made to run.

Alan designed this thing around the 12 vdc and its there (well, 12.24 +/- 3vdc probably) she works best.

My VVPS pretty much sits in the closet, keeping the HIsaber on ready at 10 volts. When I'm ready to go, I grab the OEM PS and let her rip. Plus, I hate lugging the VVPS around.

Easiest thing to. I found, if I just hit HIsaber Sumac, like I was smoking a bowl... we get along fantastically. At least that's been my experience, so far. Oh sticks. It got rid of the Lung Butter to, treating it like that. Screw all those voltage settings. Let someone use them to adjust.

All this time, screwing around, trying/succeeding to vaporize. I should have just acted like the HI was a BIC, without a flame. I might upgrade in the future on the VVPS. But, I can't see it, unless I'm leaving it out 24/7 and that's not going to happen. This is the way, I like a vape to hit. Like I'm smoking a bong. One of the reasons I'm into Glass, is because of those days. A Healthier throw-back to that... HELL YEAH!

P.S. Broke my 14mm ground tube back down, so needed to clean up about a 1/4" of wand hash. Shook it up in Ghost OG, laid down a layer in the tube and Holy Medicated, BATMAN!

Nice bubbler boobs. Very stylish.

BigDaddyVapor - Good to hear you are having great success with the fixed voltage supply. Sometimes simpler is better. I like the Bic lighter analogy. Sort of an electric lighter with no flame. The vapor is much better for your lungs than smoking. If you draw hot air through the glass, it will make it easier to scrape out the oils. I like to mix it with whatever you are roasting. It adds a few octanes. Thanks for the video.

Different strokes for different folks BDV, I can't even imagine using mine on 12V anymore since I rarely go over 11,2V myself. I don't like moving my variable PSU around either though, but a 30 feet extension cord goes a long way to deal with that & I use a small dimmer switch icw a regular 12V PSU if I wanna go HI somewhere else. It might help that I don't have to be secretive about mj use where I live though, I can just leave everything out in the open without having to worry about it.

That's a lovely little bub indeed Boobs.

Did you maple burl HI get a lot darker over time btw? It doesn't really look that way from your photo's & vids, but I'm curious what to expect with ET nevertheless. My ash UD changed color real quick in comparison, I wonder if that difference is just in the wood species or more in the different core design. Probably a little of both, the older UD cores did get pretty hot to touch in the smaller units.

i think it got a lil darker but nothing real noticeable. just thought is was from the dirt and oils from my hands.

actually a friend gave it to me, told him i was looking for a small traveling piece and he hooked it up.

You have good friends, bOOber. That's a tasty bubbler indeed. I shall now look for my own bongzilla, inspired by you.

Big Daddy, I'm pleased to see you running HI and free, and that you're getting the absolute most out of your HI. Very good.

OTA - my HI seems to be changing color, but ever so slightly and I really wonder if it's just the light sometimes. Anywho, I love it regardless because it's mine, all mine!

Alan - cheers, my friend. I hope all is well. I need a WONG, my man. :brow: I'm sending you an email, Mmmmmkay?

Thanks VH

How long has yours been in use now, & do you leave it on 24/7?

It's interesting because we both have a maple HI, although mine is a burl & I'm not sure if that has the same density & thermal properties as regular maple.

I'm getting a little anxious for one of those wongs myself as well, haha, I hope he's settled in soon

Will they come in the same wood options as the HI itself, Alan?

I had my lathe setup for grinding some gong ends on glass tubes so I thought I would try a wong. This one is made from osage orange. The wood is 2.5" long and accepts one of my 13mm glass roasting tips. I should be able to make wongs that match the wood of the HI if there is enough extra wood.
I decided today that the 13mm glass tubing is too small in diameter to provide a adequate grind for the 14mm gong. I will only do the 14mm gong grind on 14mm glass tubes from now on.
I've also decided that I own too much shit. Moving is no fun at all.

Vapinghole - You can send me an email.

OhTheAgony - The wood for your HI is closer to the kind as bOObs unit. The wood for VH's HI is a bit more dense. Each piece reacts just a bit differently to heat and time.

Beautiful work Alan.can you grip the wood wong with your e fingers when its connected to clear vapor? looks like you can..I d like to get wonged too Alan with a couple with the larger SS bwade proof bowls, when you get a minute:)

Sorry to hear you ve accumulated so much.I'm in a similar position myself.Doing a spring clean right now and I've thrown heaps out.I keep finding things i lost years ago:D
it does make you feel better after you ve cleared and lightened your e load.

They say moving is such a stressful time.I guess youre moved.hope it went well.i was sending you good vibes from afar.:)

OTH

my redheart has darkened too but it is still a beauty.i like you wax it regularly.its so relaxing.

i ve also been using my HI to clear headaches and sinus pain by tracing the hi all around the pain area.I think sinus trouble is common among patients.
I ve stopped quite a few headaches in their tracks.great relief for pain.thanks Alan for an ingenious product.

Oh and Looking at a new bubbler too.just sent plans off and drawings.

Its been far too long without a proper bub.fingers crossed.

between glass and H.I.A.S I am...um yeah :mental: must calm down.

still its great popping in and seeing all the new stuff going down.Nice glass boobs and umm any body see Jeppy i heard he has a nice new bit of glass:brow:

u bwade wunner - Thanks. There is just enough wood exposed to grab it for clearing the glass. I will definitely make you a red heart wong with a SS bowl when I get a chance. Unfortunately, I am not done with the move yet. It does feel good to lighten the load a bit and have less to move. The garbage man may not be so happy though. I'm glad to hear you are able to clear some of the headaches and sinus pain using the heat massage feature of the HI. It truly is a medical device.

BigDaddyVapor - Very nice collection of glass. Looks like the all glass roasting tube fits nicely into your VB bubbler.

Jeppy - Very nice video. Thanks so much for posting it. The dabbing technique works very well.

Cheers, OTA! My HI has been gainfully employed since June. I don't keep it on 24/7--I turn it off before bed, and I turn it on in the morning, leaving it on all freakin' day/night, until bedtime. I figure giving it (and my VVPS) a nightly break will aid longevity for both.

Vapinghole - You can send me an email.

Thanks, Alan. You bet your sweet, genius, wood-spinning, HI-saber wielding ass I'll send you an email! ;)

bOObs - sup, brotha!
