Discontinued ThermoVape Evolution

I understand your point, but why are we stuck on the "blame" issue that doesn't exist?? Nobody is blaming TV for anything. We are here discussing the issues that came up with said experimentation, and again nobody (as far as memory serves) has once held TV responsible. The only thing I felt needed to be addressed was putting up some kind of warning on the website, which was not there, when I checked yesterday. I do have a kit on the way, so I can do this proper. Some how the point that nobody is blaming TV keeps being missed here...
My apologies if I was wrong about the blame issue, it's just that your previous posts have had a confrontational feel to them. Now back to an on topic discussion, I freaking cannot wait for my interface adapter, this is going to be the ultimate in a vaping experience.

I think I may do my first vaping video tomorrow.

I got my 6v evo today. Here is my video review with me using it for the very first time. Great success! I am sure it will get even better once I learn how to use it. I put in about 0.1 gram and got many big clouds. I also put on an o-ring and I can confirm it helps keep the cover on.

So, I am a little confused. I have the Rev base with lots of extra batteries (all from Thermo). My Evo has no o ring like in this video (the little white ring) and it doenst hit worth a shit. It's about as good as a magic flight box if not worse.

Did they forget my ring, or is that the new update and I need it? The rips look perfectly acceptable on this video...

Per TV:
Everyone,

For those of you worried about the top cap getting loose when hot, we have your solution!!!

The o-ring will take up the gap when the unit gets hot, quick easy fix!

For those of you who want one please e-mail us at sales@thermovape.com and we will send you one free of cost. For anyone looking to pick up a Evolution, the O-ring is now a standard part of the core and will come with each one.

Cheers,

Tim

They offered to send out O rings to those who ordered when it came out with no O rings. Just email them and request on.

Give it a longer heat up time (30-45s), I sometimes have problems with overcooking my herb but for how dark it gets the hits are remarkably smooth. I can get back to back clouds much bigger & quicker than a mflb once my lv evo is warmed up...

I haven't gotten my o-ring yet either.

EDIT: Oh you have the 6v evo right? I would change heat up to 15-20s but I don't have one to be sure, if the vape is thin just let it heat up more before drawing too much.

Yeah, the O ring is new, you can email them and they will mail them out. The one in the video was not with the kit, he added that himself. Not sure why you are not getting good results though, are you letting it heat up before trying to take a hit? Like all the TV products, there is a bit of a learning curve.

Well, my first bowl was big. I thought "cool, not bad". Every bowl thereafter was like ripping on something with bad batteries - hot handle and practically lame vapor. Even though I purchased 4 extra batteries and they are all charged... I've tried different grinds, hash, different herbs, even the same herb that gave me the first hit and my reaction is " Why didnt I pack this in my solo and get MAD rips?"

Ive even let hit heat up until I smell burning and im still geting weak hits...

So, cie la vie, I have to assume that its quality control or the missing ring...
Let me also mention that the herb at the bottom looks charred and the rest looks unvaped...

What a guy!
Just got my Evo LV in the mail and have tried my first attempt... Kinda disappointed. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I opted for the Evo LV along with the Alpha Ultra for a truly pocket friendly experience.

Well I got the vape together batteries charged etc, I loaded the Evo, gave it 15 seconds for warm up tried it. Nothing a tiny bit of flavor maybe. So tried again still nothing. So I queued up Bruno's video and followed along step by step. All I've gotten so far is some very wispy clouds and no real effect and the ABV is kinda brownish. Now I have a pre-O Ring Evo and that may be playing a part.

So my questions to the community are this.
A) Is the Alpha Really enough to run the Evo or am I kinda fooling myself, and I need to have a set up with the bod/batteries that come with the "Complete Evo"?
B) Has anyone else tried the Evo LV and have any tips and tricks?
C) If I wanted to get an O Ring to see if it makes a difference (without waiting for the mail) what Size/Type should I look for.

Thanks for the help to a newbie.

On the other hand the Dart on the Ultra? Oh Yea me likey.

With it empty turn it on and look at the heater and see how long it takes to heat up. Then turn it off for 5 seconds and turn it back on and see how long it takes again to heat up all the way. Now you know how long it takes for it to heat up all the way.

I would loosely fill it 3/4 full and then put the top on. Now turn it on and wait till you know it is heated up all the way. Start with a slow and steady inhale and keep inhaling for 15-20 seconds. Do that another 2-4 times and you should see better vapor production each time. Once you get the hang of it then you can try putting more in.

The O ring is to prevent the sleeve from slipping off once it gets hot, I do not think if has any impact on the ability to produce vapor without it. Bruno is using the 6V which requires a shorter warm up time than the LV. Try giving it a longer heat up time from a cold start, after that less heat up time is required.

I will be trying again, but after testing the Dart I need to wait a bit :ko:. Also not really understanding the math behind it all can someone tell me; Would I notice any performance difference between the 17670 3.7V 1600mah that comes with the "complete" Evo versus the 14500LiMn High Drain 3.7V that comes with the Alpha Ultra?

again... I love this board... ill try...
Hey Snidely,,,,,,"stop that pigeon"! By the way guys and gals,,,,if you have the Evo already,,it may be easier and quicker to take a trip to Ace or Home Depot to pick up that O ring. I'll have to do that tomorrow if mine shows up without it.

Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy one of these bad boys to run on top of my Provari V2. I searched this thread but the only mentions of Provari are in regards to the V1. The V2 has an amp limit of 3.5 and should be able to run this thing.

Does anyone here have this setup? Standard voltage or low?

Also, what is the difference between the Evolution and the Revolution?

Cheers,

I love this board. Ill happily post a positive review as soon as I achieve it!!

Great, but please be honest with us, if you have honest comments post those, positive or negative? TIA.

Oh, yeah, big time. One is 1600 mAh, the other is 600 mAh. 1600 is the bigger number. In broad terms it'll go 3 times longer. Then again it's bigger.....

I'd be careful on two points. First off hardware store rings are not going to be special high temperature like the factory one and being right in front of the air intake it's not a good place to be having overcooked o-rings I think. Secondly, all it does is make the heat shield tighter. It's not needed (or the first units would have had them....), just don't use the heatshield as a handle until the ring comes?

Your call.

I don't know the beast, but if the 3.5 Amps is real it will BARELY drive the standard voltage only. Not even close for the LV which needs 5.5 Amps.

Edit: I just found out there's a 14.5 Watt total power limit, this guy won't drive 20 Watts no matter how you slice it.

First is for herb (and bubble in the middle), the other for concentrates.

The AW IMR 14500 has an 8C discharge rating, at 600 mAh that means the battery is only good for 4.8A. The Evo runs at 20W, which would mean 5.4A at 3.7V. The Alpha Ultra isn't enough to drive the Evo with these batteries.

It does 2.9-6.0 V with and amp limit of 3.5.....this I'm sure of.... http://www.provape.com/provari-variable-voltage-ecig-s/36.htm

By barely, do you mean it wouldn't get hot enough?

What does "and bubble in the middle" mean?

KillFace, it's more appropriate to say the ProVari V2 has a 14.5W limit, unfortunately. It provides 3.5A up to 4.2V and a max of 14.5W at higher voltages. It is, and I share your pain, not enough to drive the Evo.
