Discontinued ThermoVape Evolution

That is my method as well. I also do not wan to go to fine to prevent any bits from falling through, even though the holes are fairly small.

i agree with this. those holes are small, but if grinded too fine bit will easily make their way into there. but i think we are good w/out a fine grind in this application. similar to how the Solo can so evenly brown flowers with minimal break up or grind. my next test is going to be with a pretty course grind.

ok so my 17670s arrived today and i just got home. opened them up, popped one into my Detonator filled and attached Evo and began to warm it. i waiting exactly 15 seconds and slowly started to pull. this time i was getting visible vapor on inhale, but not much on exhale. about 30 seconds later i hit the button again, this time waiting about 8 or 10 secs and slowly started to pull. then i remembered to start pulling harder after the initial slow pull. and boy did this produce great results. i was blowing out nice little clouds. nothing lung busting, but more than enough for its purpose. i am extremely excited about this puppy. it appears that it can be as efficient as a log vape if used a certain way. which IMO is great. this is a personal little beast of a vape. bravo TV!

my only gripe is that after the unit gets hot the teflon sleeve becomes very loose. in fact the mouth piece was stuck to my lip after a pull and the whole sleeve came off when lowering the device from my mouth. kinda like how a cig can get stuck on your lip... anyway... if i would have turned it upside down the sleeve would have just fallen off. this is a problem IMO. still only a small problem and easily fixable for future releases from TV, but it does kinda suck.

my suggestion would be to thread the sleeve and tube with a nice big course threading. maybe a 1/2 turn or even just 1 full turn. then it would not pop off when hot. i also think something like this should be incorporated into the Dart design. threading the dabber/top onto the core would be better than the current 510 drip tip style coupling.

addressing the sleeve coming off and even the heat reducing teflon adapter that someone else mentioned earlier (to keep the battery device from getting hot), would be on point. again TV bravo on this Evo. its amazing and only going to get better im sure.

Yea, I also find that the sleeve slips off fairly easily once it is warm and the mouthpiece could be on a bit more snug, only becomes a problem when it gets hot. I ordered a smooth flow so I will see how that works out for me.

I had the same complaint. Mine just falls off if I tip it, once hot. Makes me wonder how air tight it is too, once it gets that loose.

I find when it gets very hot, yes you can increase suction slightly by pushing down on the cover but it's so hot this isn't really advisable...

I too had the sleeve pop off when it was hot. Some type of locking mechanism or threading like 2click mentioned would be an easy fix IMO. A loading tool would be cool as well (hint, hint).

I was hoping to see my USPS tracking updated to at least receiving the package into the system today. I hope it's just a lag in the update. Since I ordered that kit Friday night, I was hoping it would be on the way by now. I know the tracking data is not always accurate...

These tools came with my AtmosRaw... I find them very useful... a small cleaning brush, and a small packing/scraping tool.

We've been doing some calculation and testing on the batteries with the Evo-LV and came to realize that the "50 hits with 17670" was incorrect, the 50 hits we have been seeing is with a 18650. So this of you with modded power supplies will reach the 50 hits without a problem.

Stay tuned for what power supply we were using to test 18650's.

Cheers,

Tim

Well, considering I just ordered the EvoLV kit and 2 extra batteries from another vendor on 4/20, I guess I am locked into using the kit as it stands now. :/ still no update on my shipping status for the EvoLV kit either... did they go out today?

Damn dude, why would you claim 50 hits with a model 'yet to be', in order to sell a current model? Also during the 'testing' phase,,,,didn't anybody notice the sleeve popping off when hot?

Do you really think that's the case? A lie to boost sales? Kinda thin, recently (less than a week after I got it to test) I tested this very point and posted more reasonable hit count numbers. They'd be pretty dumb to think I wouldn't find that or would be at all shy with the information wouldn't it?

Of course the cover getting looser is noticed. More so it's carefully controlled so you can get it on and off when cold (the cover stretches faster than the metal under it with higher heat). If you want it tighter hot, it's not going to come off cold. Just like the insulating sleeves which got adjusted to be tighter because of this effect (they'd come off in your hand sometimes). The new version takes an arbor press to install. Forget changing it at home I'm thinking. I believe the idea is it's a heat shield. A cover, not a handle?

We'll have to see where this goes. I'm not all that big on the idea of any threads or similar. Not only is it not an easy thing for their machines to do. I'd rather suggest an groove in the inside wall retaining a SS snap ring that engages the ring cut into the outside of the bowl tube so the cover snaps on and off.

I could be way off, of course, but having met these guys and discussed lots of stuff, I don't think they're being at all underhanded or ignoring problems.

Well,,,I got pussy hands, OF,ohey? :D The reason I stopped combusting was it hurt too much to flick the lighter and the sparks from matches burned too much. So get your ass over there and figure it out.:borg: Like Leslie Neilsen said:

What a guy!
I have a question. If I wanted to get both an Evo LV and a Revolution and wanted to use them on the same batteries, would I want the Evo LV kit with the 17670 3.7V 1600mah Battery and Revo or Dart LV,
or the Revo kit with the Tenergy RCR123a Batteries X 4 (2 pairs) and an Evo LV?

Can I even run the Evo LV on the Tenergy RCR123a Batteries?

I know this might have been already answered but reading through the thread I wasn't sure what my answer was. Still trying to understand the math involved.

to run 3.7V cells you want the "LV" versions of both

if running 6V+ you want the reg version of both

Yes, if you want to use 3.7v the LV line is what you want. You don't want to run any of the LV products on 6v. I would recommend the dart over the rev with the window if you are using oils, out of experience, the dart makes loading oils easy and it works really well. I may be wrong, but I think the 3.7v AW batteries will have a better over all life span than the 2x 3.0 lifepo4 style that make 6v. Anyone else know this to be true??

I'd really like to know more about this. I'm waiting to see how I can get ~50 T1 like hits on the go. When its confirmed I can get even close to that number, I'm ready to order.

I'm with darkrom. :) Although it looks pretty sweet as it is.

I think we are getting a bit spoiled with so many improvements from everywhere.

I am starting to wonder what is up, my tracking info has not gone past the electronic notification from Saturday. I hope my package didn't get set aside...

jambandphan03,
So sounds like those of us in the "thinking of pulling the trigger" category should wait a bit to see what this new development brings?

Also, if I have no reason to choose 3.7 or 6.0 specifically, I'm still a little confused about which choice would be better. If this is my first TV and I have no other components that I am trying to match, which one do I want?

Finally, about the threaded sleeve idea. The threads on my Iolite mouthpiece won't even budge when cold. In order to remove or fully install the mouthpiece, I have to heat the unit up first. Maybe this is why TV went with a slip instead of a thread?
